The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 149: The Truth About Eternity Women
"Where should I start?" Eternity asked, resting her back on her chair beside Evan’s bed. Her hand was intertwined with Evan’s, lying on top of his hospital bed.
Even though Freiheit was constantly glaring at their hands together, he didn’t vilify her as he had done earlier.
"You tell us," Freiheit responded sarcastically.
She frowned, causing her forehead to crease.
"You used to treat me nicely, Freiheit," she pointed out. "What changed?"
"What changed is that I discovered who you truly are!" He spat. "A deceitful succubus who plans to absorb my brother’s life so that you’ll gain your own!"
She flinched, tightening her hold on Evan’s hand. Meanwhile, Evan sighed, rubbing his temples with his other hand in annoyance.
"You don’t need to shout, brother," Evan reminded. "We’re in a hospital, remember? I don’t want you two to get kicked out of my room for causing a ruckus."
Freiheit continued glaring at her but accepted the possibility and the consequence of his actions just because he couldn’t get his temper in check.
"Aren’t you at fault as well, Freiheit?" Eternity refuted, without a hint of menace in her tone but more of a tone of curiosity. "You were the one who brought me to Evan. You’re as guilty as I am."
The expression of offense on Freiheit’s was so intense that Evan almost laughed, but he contained himself since the mood was too tense and serious to add laughter to the mix.
"I wouldn’t have bought you in the first place, much less given you to Evan, if I knew you’re a life sucker!" Freiheit said, thankfully in a hushed voice this time, even if his tone was overflowing with anger. "This is my attempt at redemption: to save Evan’s life."
He clicked his tongue, looking away.
"But it seems like it’s a futile one."
"Let’s forget the theatrics now, shall we?" Evan spoke, returning the conversation back to the original topic at hand. "Eternity, please, do continue."
Eternity nodded, straightening her posture as she began.
"I guess I’ll start with Freiheit’s accusations against me, that I’m absorbing Evan’s life force and my need to consume semen to function was just a lie."
The room became dead silent as they waited for Eternity to speak. Evan swallowed the imaginary lump forming inside his throat, while Freiheit, who was standing next to the door, had his hands balled into a fist.
Eternity’s moss-green eyes turned glassy, and her lips formed a tight, straight line before she spoke.
"It’s true."
"Fuck!" Freiheit exclaimed, only to be hushed by Evan. He sighed heavily before speaking again, this time in a much lower voice. "I told you, Evan! I fucking told you!"
Evan merely hummed in response, as if he were processing the revelation that was just said.
"And I know you don’t remember that night, Evan," Eternity said, "but on the night when you came home from the Royall mansion highly intoxicated, you told me that you were afraid that no one would take care of me once you died."
Evan shook his head, indicating that he couldn’t remember what happened. Eternity could only smile sadly.
"You don’t need to worry about it, Evan," she assured. "because your life will be the price so that I can have mine. Once I completely suck the life out of you, you’ll die. But in return, I will turn into a real human who will no longer rely on someone else’s life force to function. But I think Freiheit already told you about this."
Evan nodded in confirmation.
"What about your tendency to mesmerize people?" Freiheit probed. "I know your beauty itself is enough to attract attention, but yours... is different. It’s almost to the point of..."
"Making people fall in love at first sight with you," Evan finished for his brother. "I’ve always wondered this, to be honest. At first, I thought it might just be your personality or, well, your appearance, that causes people to react that way towards you.
"But now that the truth of your succubus-like powers has been settled, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to me if this was some sort of magic or whatever you call it."
"It’s black magic," Eternity clarified. "But to answer your question, yes, it’s part of being an Eternity Doll to have this certain effect on people. We, Eternity Women, have this mechanism where the mere sight of us can cause anyone to yearn, lust, or whatever word you’d like to use, over us."
"That’s why I was head-over-heels over you the moment I saw you," Evan muttered to himself.
Eternity nodded.
"If I didn’t have that effect on you, I doubt you’d even bother to activate me in the first place."
’Knowing your misogynistic personality,’ she wanted to add.
"But what for?" Freiheit asked quizzically. "I understand that you use it on your ’master’ so that they’ll be manipulated to have sex or be with you until they die, but isn’t it pointless to have this effect on outsiders?"
"This is in case my master grows tired of me," Eternity explained. "Although that rarely happens because, as aforementioned, we Eternity Women are capable of captivating everyone, with the exception of those not attracted to female-identifying individuals, once it does happen, I already have a backup."
"A backup, huh?" Evan repeated, looking pained at what he had just heard. "So technically, I’m just a charger for you."
"No, Evan," Eternity quickly denied. "I might not have pure intentions at first, but please do know that throughout our time together, I have learned to love you, and that now I’m completely in love with you."
Evan looked at her as if he had a hard time believing her. Although Eternity would be lying if she said she didn’t understand Evan’s point of view.
"Well, now that’s clear to us," Freiheit interrupted. "Is there any way for Evan’s condition to be reversed?"
Eternity was silent for a moment, as if she were contemplating whether she should tell them the truth. But after a few more tense moments of silence, she finally spoke.
"You need to destroy me."
