The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 65: Doll in an Amusement Park
"So," Edelweiss drawled as she leaned on the backrest of the bench, stretching her arms upward. "I thought this would be a girl’s hangout. Why are you here?"
"Because," Evan emphasized, sitting on the other end of the bench. "I want Eternity’s first time in an amusement park—in Berlin," he added to not raise suspicions that this was, in fact, Eternity’s first time in an amusement park in her less than 1 month of ’life’. "To have a woman she just met a day ago take her away."
Edelweiss rolled her eyes. "I’m sure Eternity doesn’t mind, right?" She looked at the doll, who was giddily looking around the place. "Eternity?"
Eternity stiffened as she was sandwiched between the two of them, realizing that they were waiting for a response from her.
"Oh, sorry, can you repeat that?" She requested it shyly. "I was so preoccupied analyz—examining my surroundings that I didn’t hear your question."
A trail of sweat dripped down the side of Evan’s face.
Eternity almost said ’analyzed,’ like she was some robot or something, which was somewhat true.
"It doesn’t matter, Eternity." Edelweiss stood up from her side of the bench, offering her hand to her carbon copy. "Let’s just enjoy ourselves, shall we?"
Eternity nodded, taking her hand.
"We shall, Edelweiss."
"Since when did you refer to each other on a first-name basis?" Evan scowled, following the two as they stood up from their respective seats. He then intertwined his fingers around Eternity’s, causing the doll to blush.
Edelweiss, not wanting to lose to Evan, did the same. Eternity’s cheeks, which were previously just a light shade of pink, were now a dark red.
"Since when did a CEO not have work on a Wednesday morning?" Edelweiss fired back.
"That’s a red herring," he pointed out. "Though I could say the same thing to you, fellow CEO, don’t you have work? Isn’t that the reason why you returned to this country for work purposes and not for leisure?"
Edelweiss winced, placing her free hand on her chest as if having a heart attack. "Don’t hit me where it hurts the most!"
Evan huffed. "Thought so."
Eternity shifted her gaze from Edelweiss to Evan, confused at the sudden air of competitiveness between them.
Yesterday, after Edelweiss’s announcement that she was planning to explore the city with Eternity, Evan wanted to kick her out of their apartment then and there. However, Eternity’s kindness saved her by saying that she would value Edelweiss’s concern and would gladly accept if Edelweiss wanted to make her plan a reality.
Then, for some weird chain of events, the two women, whom anyone would mistake as a pair of siblings, were on the same wavelength and vibed well.
Eternity, who probably had an in-built mechanism that made her amicable to practically anybody or was just plain a natural at making people like her, seemed to have entranced Edelweiss as she did with him and Freiheit.
Meanwhile, Edelweiss, who was known for her laidback and down-to-earth personality even when they were teenagers, seemed to have been taken even by Eternity.
Needless to say, a strong friendship was born that night.
By the time it was midnight and it was time for Edelweiss to return to her hotel room, Eternity had almost convinced Evan to let her stay for the night. Thankfully, Edelweiss declined and said she didn’t want to add more fuel to the fire after JohntheTravelVlogger’s video went viral.
"Things won’t look good on the press if the CEO of Royal Blue is caught fraternizing with the CEO of Whired, their rival company."
Though the majority of the netizens weren’t aware of Edelweiss’s real identity and assumed she was just Evan’s piece, like how typical CEOs had strings of lovers or gold diggers at their expense, some internet detectives were willing to find out who she really was.
"It didn’t help that there were videos of you circulating on the internet almost a month ago." Edelweiss sighed as she headed out of the door. "You know, the one where you were publicly making out with Eternity in some mall? People might mistakenly piece things together that it was me in that same video, and things might get out of hand if someone caught wind of me staying overnight at your place."
Going back to the present, the three of them were now walking around an amusement park, the two women enjoying their stay while Evan looked like he wanted to kill himself rather than stay there any longer.
"You know," Evan said as she watched Edelweiss buy a funny-looking jester’s hat from a vendor before placing it on Eternity’s head. "People will still end up getting the wrong idea since we’re openly frolicking around in public right now."
Using her free hand that wasn’t holding Eternity’s, Edelweiss waved her index finger in front of Evan’s face.
"This is why we’re wearing disguises!"
Evan knitted his eyebrows together, untangling his hand from Eternity. The doll wanted to protest, only to stop once Evan began to speak.
"You mean these?" He tapped on the black sunglasses and hat Edelweiss forced them to wear.
"Yes!" She beamed as if she were proud to have made a very unique plan. "See, no one is looking at us!"
"They’re probably steering away from us because of how suspicious we look..." Eternity suggested.
"I agree," Evan said.
"Don’t be so negative!" Edelweiss pouted. "Anyway, we have the whole day to enjoy ourselves! Let’s worry about the media later!"
"Enjoy now; worry about things blowing up later?" Evan mockingly said.
But Edelweiss didn’t seem to catch his tone because she agreed with him. "Enjoy now; worry about things blowing up later!"
She then turned her attention to Eternity, who looked adorable with the jester’s hat on her head.
"Now," Edelweiss began. "Where do you want us to start, Eternity?"
"Uhm..." She then looked at the amusement park map that the personnel gave them the moment they paid for their tickets. "How about... the rollercoaster?"
"Great choice!" Edelweiss beamed before dragging the doll, probably to where the rollercoaster was. "Now, let’s go!"
Behind them, Evan trailed after them, looking pale as a sheet of paper.
"Rollercoaster..." He gulped, feeling a trail of cold sweat drip down his face.
