The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 66: Jump Scares and the Doll
In the men’s restroom of the amusement park, there was the sound of vomiting and its vile, acidic smell.
Eternity scrunched her nose in disgust but took a bottle of water from her side bag just in case. Meanwhile, Edelweiss was guffawing at Evan’s misery.
Even though they were standing outside the restroom, they could still hear his retching from outside.
"What... What are you, some little kid?!" She barely let out each word as she continued laughing. "Did a little rollercoaster ride ruin your stomach, Evan?" Edelweiss spoke in a childish tone.
Evan was about to tell her to fuck off when his stomach started churning again and he continued vomiting on the toilet.
It took a couple of minutes before Evan finally exited the cubicle, probably because he expelled everything that his stomach possibly could before he finished and began gargling his mouth on the sink.
Thankfully, he was the only one inside, or else it would’ve been more embarrassing than it already was.
"Here, Evan." Eternity handed him the bottle as soon as he went out, which he accepted with great gratitude. "You could’ve told me that you’re prone to motion sickness, Evan."
"And admit that he’s a weakling in front of his girlfriend?" Edelweiss continued laughing, while tears of joy were already forming in her eyes. "No man would ever do that, Eternity."
"Edelweiss..." Eternity frowned at her disapprovingly, causing the other redhead to finally calm down.
"Okay," Edelweiss heaved, though a tiny giggle still threatened to escape her lips. "I’ll stop."
On normal occasions, he would’ve berated Edelweiss, a woman, for treating him like a laughingstock. But he was far too sick to even think about his misogyny. Instead, Evan took a hefty drink until the bottle was completely empty.
He threw it in the nearest trash can and turned to face Eternity.
"Well?" He asked, acting cool and clinging on to his remaining dignity as if he hadn’t just vomited his guts out. "What’s next?"
"How about something less..." Eternity trailed off, not sure what word to use without humiliating Evan any further.
"Less," he agreed.
"How about let’s go to the haunted house?" Edelweiss suggested, turning her head to Eternity. "Are you fine with that as our next destination?"
Eternity nodded eagerly; excitement was literally radiating off her body. Meanwhile, Evan stiffened.
Edelweiss, ever so perceptive, shifted her tone to a teasing tone. "Surely you can handle a bit of jump scares, right, Evan?"
"Don’t take me for a coward, Edelweiss," he practically spat at her, trying not to show that he was alarmed at being caught red-handed. "A little ghost won’t scare me."
He also wanted to tell her that ever since she gained Eternity’s trust, he had been acting too arrogant and that she was completely forgetting her place as a woman.
But Edelweiss merely smirked as if she knew what she was doing and was intentionally pushing his buttons.
"Let’s wait and see."

He was, in fact, a coward.
A pathetic, little coward.
When they entered the haunted house, Eternity was the one clinging to Evan as her excitement slowly turned into fear. But it turned out that Evan was the one who needed someone to cling to, not her.
Even though Evan tried to maintain a stoic facade, each sudden noise and unexpected "ghost" made him jump from his skin. Every now and then, he would let out a startled grunt, fueling Edelweiss’s playful taunts.
"Come on, Evan, where’s that bravery you were boasting about?" Edelweiss teased him as they entered a particularly eerie room filled with fake cobwebs and hanging skeletons.
Evan gritted his teeth, determined not to make a fool of himself more than he already did.
As they continued, the intensity of the scares escalated. Actors dressed as ghosts and ghouls lurched out from dark corners, surprising them at each nook and cranny. Eternity, though frightened, seemed to enjoy the adrenaline rush.
Meanwhile, Edelweiss, with her mischievous streak, led them into a room that was the embodiment of complete darkness. The air was thick with an unsettling silence before the sudden eruption of eerie sounds and ghost and ghoul’s hands sent Eternity into an ear-piercing scream.
Evan, momentarily caught off guard, found himself stumbling over his own feet and fell to the floor, landing on his butt. Edelweiss burst into laughter once again, while Eternity, despite her initial fear, couldn’t help but join in.
Once they were out, Evan’s fear morphed into embarrassment. Edelweiss opened her mouth, probably to ridicule him once more, but her phone began to ring.
"Excuse me for a bit," Edelweiss said, before fishing her phone from her pocket and walking to a corner, beyond anyone’s hearing vicinity.
Once they were alone, they both sat on a bench nearby. The whole time, Evan didn’t say a word, making her feel that it was a great mistake to bring Evan to the haunted house, more so than the ride on the rollercoaster.
Finally, Eternity decided to break the silence between them.
"Evan...?" Eternity called his name cautiously. "Are you okay?"
Evan didn’t respond.
Eternity smiled gently before leaning her head on his shoulders and grabbing his hands with her own.
His hands were ice cold. The haunted house experience must’ve terrified him a lot, more than she thought it did.
"I’m glad, you know." Eternity began.
Evan continued to keep silent. The only sign that showed he was listening was his raised eyebrow.
"I’m glad to see this side of you." She continued. "This uncool side of Evan Holz."
Evan scoffed, trying to remove his hands from Eternity’s, but she kept a strong grip and refused to budge.
"It made me realize that you’re more human than I thought." Eternity continued. "That, unlike what you usually show in front of me, you also have your moments of weakness."
"And that’s a good thing because?" Evan muttered, his cheeks and ears still red from embarrassment.
"I hope to see more of your different sides." She said this, pulling away from his body. "So that I can love your weakness as much as I love your strengths."
His blue eyes widened as he stared at her green pair. He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. Instead, he relaxed in his seat and gave Eternity’s hand a tentative squeeze.
"Thank you," he said when he finally found his voice. "Thank you for loving me even if I’m more flawed than perfect."
Eternity chuckled before kissing him chastely on the cheeks.
"That’s what makes me love you more."
