The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 91: The Doll Resembled a Human More than the Owner
"I’m home," Evan announced as he opened the door to his apartment, feeling slightly tired but relieved that he was finally back here and soon, in Eternity’s arms.
But something was amiss.
To begin with, the lights at the hallway’s entrance were out, but a row of candles cast a warm glow on the hallway, appearing to direct him to follow the trail.
Second, there was a faint rose aroma in the apartment, which might have come from the candles or the rose petals that were scattered all over the floor.
But there was something else aside from the scent of roses—the undeniable aroma of good food. But it wasn’t just one distinct smell of food, but a combination of them that, combined together, made his mouth salivate and his stomach grumble.
Evan temporarily forgot about his exhaustion and was replaced with confusion as he continued to stare around the dimly lit hallway, drawn to the mysterious trail of candles and rose petals.
After a moment of observing his surroundings, he noticed a small card lying on the floor along with the rose petals. Evan bent down to pick it up, his fingers tracing over the elegant writing.
"Follow the trail," he said, reading the writing on the letter aloud.
Setting the card aside, Evan followed the path of candles and petals, each step bringing him deeper into the insides of the apartment.
As he arrived at the corner of the living room, Evan’s breath caught in his throat at the sight that greeted him.
The living room was transformed into a romantic dinner. A white-clothed table with a candelabrum on top replaced the coffee table. Meanwhile, the sofa was nowhere to be seen; instead, the chairs from the dining room took its place.
Although the living room lights were also off, the soft glow of the scented candles on the floor illuminated the door. Along with the candles, there were more rose petals scattered across the floor.
Evan’s realist side told him that one wrong step and one of the candles might topple over and burn down the whole apartment complex, but his romantic side told him to ignore it and merely enjoy what Eternity had prepared for him.
Speaking of Eternity, there she was at the center of the room, with her green eyes reflecting the dim candlelight as she awaited his arrival.
Eternity was wearing a white dress, her signature color, that hugged and accentuated her slim figure. Lace with intricate patterns decorated the neckline and hem, while the flared skirt reached just below her knees.
Eternity had an excited smile. Her lips were scarlet with lipstick, and her cheeks were rosy with blush on. Hanging around her neck was the heart-shaped pendant Evan gave her as a present just this weekend.
"Eternity," Evan said as he went inside the living room. His blue eyes were as wide as saucers as he took in her appearance.
She was absolutely breathtaking under the soft light of the candles that illuminated her form.
"Welcome home, Evan." Eternity spoke softly as she stepped forward as well, closing the distance between them. "I made you some dinner."
Eternity gestured at the table, where a feast was served.
On a platter of roasted vegetables sat a chicken that had been roasted to a perfect golden brown color. Next to it was a basket of garlic bread, its warm, buttery aroma wafting across the living room. A colorful salad with fresh mixed greens, sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and a vinaigrette was also available.
But the main highlight of the food served was the dessert: a chocolate mouse cake decorated with all kinds of fruits.
"So, what is the deal with the surprise romantic dinner?" Evan inquired, pulling a chair for Eternity.
Eternity smiled in gratitude before sitting on it and then replying.
"I just wanted to show you my thanks for your gift last Saturday." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Azure-colored eyes widened as he sat in his respective seat. "All this theatrics just for a necklace I gave you?"
Eternity chuckled softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she shook her head.
"It’s not just about the necklace, Evan," she explained, her voice soft and sincere. "It’s about the thoughtfulness behind it, and... you know!"
Evan furrowed his brow in confusion, his gaze fixed on Eternity’s earnest expression.
"I, in fact, do not know," he confessed, his curiosity piqued.
"You always make me feel special." Eternity giggled and began explaining. "I just wanted to express my gratitude and make you feel how you make me feel on a daily basis."
A soft smile tugged at Evan’s lips, his heart swelling with love for the woman before him. He reached across the table, his hand extending tenderly towards Eternity’s
"Well, I’m certainly feeling extra special today," he said playfully, though the warmth in his tone didn’t hide his true feelings of happiness. "And I’m grateful for you, too, Eternity. More than you know."
Eternity’s smile widened, her eyes shining with delight as she gestured towards the food laid out before them. "Let’s eat?"
"You mean, 𝘐’𝘭𝘭 eat." Evan corrected with a playful wink.
Eternity pouted and furrowed her eyebrows. "You know what I mean!"
"This time," Evan said as he deftly sliced through a tender piece of roasted chicken. "I 𝘥𝘰 know."

"That hit the spot!" Evan exclaimed with satisfaction, his hand rising instinctively to cover his mouth as he let out a burp. "Excuse me."
Eternity wrinkled her nose in mock disgust, though her eyes had an evident glint of playfulness under the moonlight.
"What?" Evan chuckled. "That’s part of being human!"
As the evening progressed, the flickering candles slowly melted away, and with each passing moment, the melted wax pooled around their bases. As a safety precaution, Evan and Eternity carefully disposed of the spent candles so they wouldn’t accidentally burn the whole apartment complex down.
The two were now enjoying the soft glow of the fading twilight while sitting by the window sill in the living room.
"Which reminds me," Eternity began, her voice soft as she leaned her shoulder against the cool glass of the window. "You’ve become more human now."
