The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 124: A busybody
"Since you don’t have anything important to say, I’ll be taking my leave," Jie Fu Lian narrated the exact words spoken by Hua Tianshu that day as he reminded the man what he had said, "You should also go back and if possible, enter seclusion for the next few years."
"Tiantian, those were your exact words," Jie Fu Lian accusingly added, "Are you going to tell me that I’m still misunderstanding?"
Hua Tianshu slightly frowned as he heard this and nodded his head, "I did say that but..."
"But?"
"When did I tell you not to show up in front of my sight?" Hua Tianshu cluelessly tilted his head as he questioned, feeling genuinely confused.
"First, you told me not to speak to you if I wasn’t going to say anything important, and then you told me to enter seclusion. Your words clearly expressed your disinterest in me. You neither wanted to hear what I had to say nor did you want to see me again, isn’t that why you told me to go into seclusion...?!"
"What?" Hua Tianshu’s eyebrows creased together as he questioned.
"What?" Jie Fu Lian copied the man and repeated as he stared at Hua Tianshu with an expectant gaze.
"You looked tired that day and seemed too nervous so I thought it would be better to let you take a rest. I was sure that you were feeling awkward after everything we had to go through. As for why I asked you to enter seclusion, I understand how my words could be misunderstood but I really didn’t mean it like that. I was worried that the demon king would come back for you and I didn’t want you to put yourself in danger. Actually, if you had listened to me back then and entered seclusion, perhaps you wouldn’t have died in the abyss."
"..." Jie Fu Lian fell speechless as he heard this and his entire face turned red.
Hua Tianshu was clearly the one at fault for not having made his words clear. He was the one who had started all the misunderstandings but Jie Fu Lian was the one who was feeling embarrassed for having misunderstood the man’s words.
"Why didn’t you say everything clearly...?!" Jie Fu Lian questioned, looking a little frustrated.
"I’m not good with words."
"Then did you learn how to speak during the eight years that I was gone? You can clearly talk right now so how come you had trouble back then?"
Hua Tianshu lowered his head in guilt as he heard this but didn’t say anything. He didn’t know how he was supposed to tell the man that the reason why he was unable to talk clearly was because he was too nervous and flustered.
Just like how Jie Fu Lian had been looking up to him for a very long time, Hua Tianshu had also been noticing Jie Fu Lian for a very long time.
The first time he met Jie Fu Lian was when the two were mere children who were hardly around the age of six.
During that year, Hua Tianshu visited the Yan sect along with his master and foster-father, Sect Master Quan. While the adults went to talk about important matters, Hua Tianshu was allowed to roam around the Yan sect and explore the place.
As a child, Hua Tianshu was quite a busybody who was curious about anything and everything. He hardly held any restraint and would always talk nonstop even if there was no one to listen to him.
When he explored the Yan sect, he came across another boy who looked as if he were around the same age as him so Hua Tianshu grew a little curious, but he was too shy to go and introduce himself so he hid behind a tree and quietly watched over the boy who, with his bear hands, seemed to be trying to catch a fish that was swimming inside the pond.
The child tried very hard but unfortunately, even after trying nonstop for half an hour, he was still unable to catch a fish.
The little child pouted and it looked as if he was about to give up. However, the boy did not give up. In the end, the child jumped into the pond and disappeared.
Little Hua Tianshu got worried and almost thought of going after the boy but his instincts told him to quietly wait for the time being and so, he waited.
The surface of the pond went still once again but there was no sign of the young boy who had jumped in.
Hua Tianshu’s heart started racing with fear as he wondered if the boy had drowned while Hua Tianshu was quietly watching from behind a tree and doing nothing to help.
However, in the very next moment, when Hua Tianshu was almost sure that the boy had drowned, he saw the young boy coming back up with a fish in his hand.
For some reason, Hua Tianshu lept up in joy and felt extremely proud of the little child who had finally managed to catch the fish.
The little child quietly came up to the shore and sat down with the fish in his hands. He stared at the fish for a few seconds before he forcefully opened its mouth and pulled out a rope that seemed to have been stuck inside the fish’s throat.
Hua Tianshu was a little impressed as he guessed that the little boy was probably trying to catch the fish because he had noticed that it was sick and not able to eat anything because of something stuck in its throat.
Once the rope was removed, the fish started flapping its tail even more fiercely, not being able to breathe without water.
At this point, Hua Tianshu thought the little child was going to throw the fish back in the water.
However, contrary to his expectations, the little child took the fish and ran back into his house.
Little Hua Tianshu pursed his lips and contemplated whether he should follow or not, but at the end of the day, he was still far too young to understand that it was not a good idea to follow someone inside their house without permission.
Hua Tianshu followed after the little boy and instead of going inside, he quietly used the window to spy on what the boy was doing.
The boy immediately ran to the kitchen and stuck a chopstick in between the fish before holding it against the fire.
Unfortunately for the fish, it died and was slowly cooked with the use of the fire but when the fish got too close to the fire, the chopstick stuck in between caught fire and the child let go of the chopstick, making the fish fall down directly into the fire.
The young boy frowned, staring at the fire with tears brimming in his eyes. He was mourning for his dear fish that he would probably not be able to get back without burning his hands in the process.
Hua Tianshu felt a little bad for the boy.
The young boy looked around with teary eyes and picked up a wooden ladle. He started swinging the ladle towards the fire in a pathetic attempt to put the fire out but the ladle also caught fire and he ended up throwing that into the fire as well.
One by one, the child picked up random things and started throwing them into the fire, hoping that he could somehow stop the fire, however, he only made things worse and the fire ended up growing bigger.
In a matter of minutes, the whole kitchen caught fire and the child ended up running out with his entire body covered in ashes and soot.
’What a troublemaker,’ Hua Tianshu immediately thought with a sigh.
They were about the same age but Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but feel as if his intellectual capability was a lot higher than that boy’s intelligence.
Hua Tianshu thought the child was going to run away and hide the fact that he had burnt down the kitchen, however, just a few minutes later, the child returned.
This time, the child was followed by water.
Hua Tianshu’s eyes immediately widened as he saw the water forming a huge dragon that was obediently following after the child.
He had never seen something like this nor had he ever heard about it. Hua Tianshu always thought powerful cultivators were cool and aspired to be like them but compared to them, this boy was a lot more impressive...!
The child ordered the water dragon to put out the fire and the water dragon opened its mouth and immediately engulfed the whole house.
Now, everything was wet and not on fire anymore.
The little child sighed in relief and the water dragon disappeared.
At this point, Hua Tianshu could not help but feel both impressed and a little afraid of this troublemaker that he had come across by pure coincidence.
In the end, he never introduced himself to the little boy but he surely got to know who the boy was by following him around.
The little child was the troublesome son of the Sect Master and was called ’Jie Ming’.
