"Jin Shifeng’s kidnapping would cause chaos within the Jin Sect and with Jin Long away, we’ll use the opportunity to send our people inside the Jin Sect and they would search for any kind of proof that can be linked back to what happened eight years ago."
"Didn’t you already go check the record room?" Hua Tianshu asked.
"The record would have been too obvious of a place to keep such dangerous evidence," Jie Fu Lian immediately replied, "If the evidence wasn’t destroyed, then it is definitely kept somewhere else. Perhaps in their bedroom or another secret place where no one would dare to check."
"Do you think it would be proper to search their bedrooms without their permission?" Sect Master Quan questioned, "Jie Fu Lian, if we find nothing, this could cause a war between the Jin Sect and the HuiXue sect."
"Don’t worry," Jie Fu Lian spoke with confidence, "I’m sure we’ll find something. They couldn’t have cleaned up after themselves that well."
"This is a dangerous plan," Hua Tianshu sighed as he finally spoke up, sharing his own opinions, "And quite frankly speaking, I do not think kidnapping Jin Shifeng would be a good idea. However, If nothing goes wrong, I’m sure this plan could work. It is a gamble but if it works, it would be the fastest method we could use."
Jie Fu Lian nodded his head as he agreed with Hua Tianshu, "We only have one chance. Our movements are already being tracked by Heaven’s eye. It seems that we have been too predictable till now. It is time to be a little dynamic."
Sect Master Quan sighed as he glanced at Jie Fu Lian and then looked at Hua Tianshu as he asked, "Hua Tianshu, is his recklessness washing off on you? Or are you already a hen-pecked husband who agrees to everything your husband says?"
Hua Tianshu’s ears turned a little red as he heard this but he only averted eye contact without saying anything in response.
Jie Fu Lian gave a toothy grin as he spoke up, "Old Man Quan, hasn’t your disciple always been this way?"
Jie Fu Lian did not specify which he meant: Reckless or a hen-pecked husband.
Sect Master Quan sighed as he shook his head in disappointment and commented, "It’s all because he met you. He used to be such a good boy before you came along."
Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but chuckle as he heard this and playfully commented, "Don’t worry, Old man Quan, he might not be a good boy but he is a good husband."
At the end of his sentence, Jie Fu Lian even winked at Hua Tianshu, making the man’s ears blush red.
Sect Master Quan laughed as he heard this and looked at Hua Tianshu, thoroughly enjoying the embarrassed expression on the man’s face.
"And you have nothing to lose," Jie Fu Lian continued as he cupped his face and spoke, "Instead of your good boy Hua Tianshu, you got a handsome son-in-law like me. What more could you ask for?"
"Good heavens, you are still as naughty as ever," Sect Master Quan laughed, shaking his head, "When did I give you permission to marry my son?"
Jie Fu Lian playfully pouted, "Old Man Quan, I’m afraid your son loves me too much. If you do not give us your blessing, he is ready to elope with me."
"..." Sect Master Quan looked at Hua Tianshu who once again looked away without giving a response.
In the end, Sect Master Quan sighed as he spoke, "What have I done so wrong in my past life to get sons like you two? One is always going against me and the other just can’t stop getting into trouble."
"You probably saved a country. That’s why you are so lucky," Jie Fu Lian laughed as he replied.
"In any case, since you two have already decided, there is nothing more left for me to say. You can go ahead with your plan and kidnap Jin Shifeng. I’ll call for Jin Long and send people to secretly rummage through the Jin Sect."
Jie Fu Lian grinned widely as he heard this, "I knew you’d agree. This is why I like you, Old Man. You just can’t say no to our charms."
Sect Master Quan pursed his lips into a thin line without saying anything, unable to defend himself by refuting the statement since he really was always swayed by their youthful charm. Was there any father in this world that did not lose against his own son? Sect Master Quan was naturally not an exception.
"Three days from now," Sect Master Quan spoke up as he informed, "I’ll call for Jin Long and you’ll execute your reckless plan. You have three days to prepare for it. If you miss your chance, be ready to deal with the after-effects."
Jie Fu Lian smiled as he heard this and gave a nod, "No need to worry, Old man. I’ll take care of everything."
Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian soon took their leave and said their goodbyes to Sect Master Quan.
Without even saying anything, it was mutually decided that Jie Fu Lian would be staying over at Hua Tianshu’s house for the next three days while he makes all the necessary preparations to kidnap Jin Shifeng.
Together with Hua Tianshu by his side, Jie Fu Lian headed back to Hua Tianshu’s house and as they walked in silence, Jie Fu Lian’s confident words came back to him and he finally felt a little embarrassed for having blabbered nonsense like that in front of Sect Master Quan.
He had already called Hua Tianshu his husband and there was no way he could simply take it back. Even if he wanted to take it back, it wasn’t like Hua Tianshu was going to let him go that easily.
Jie Fu Lian was still not done with his revenge so there was no way he would confess and reveal his feelings for Hua Tianshu so he chose to take the option that seemed to be the best and that was to say nothing and ignore it. He was already shameless so pretending as if he had suddenly lost his memory was something he would happily do without feeling any guilt.
Surprisingly enough, Hua Tianshu didn’t mention it at all as they walked. He kept quiet and walked with a straight face that couldn’t be easily read.
When they reached Hua Tianshu’s house, Hua Tianshu turned to face Jie Fu Lian and asked, "Would you be taking a rest first?"
Jie Fu Lian didn’t even hear the question properly and simply nodded his head.
Hua Tianshu scratched the back of his neck as he awkwardly spoke, "I only have one futon."
"..."
"We can take turns to rest."
"There’s no need for that," Jie Fu Lian quickly spoke, getting an evil idea, "We can sleep together."
"..."
Jie Fu Lian innocently smiled as he stared at Hua Tianshu, acting as if he had said nothing wrong.
Hua Tianshu almost choked on empty air but instead of refusing the offer or pointing out how improper it was, he took a deep breath in and calmed himself down before he spoke, "Alright. We’ll share the futon and sleep together."
Jie Fu Lian, who was the first one to suggest this, suddenly fell a little speechless as his mind went blank for a few seconds. He was only teasing Hua Tianshu and he really hadn’t expected the man to agree so easily.
Hua Tianshu, "I’ll lay out the futon."
"..." Jie Fu Lian wordlessly stared at the man before he turned his head to look outside at the sky and then thought in his mind: it isn’t even dark yet... Aren’t you too eager to go sleep?
At the end of the day, Jie Fu Lian couldn’t even laugh it off as a joke and get away. With Hua Tianshu laying out the futon, the two got ready to go to sleep, ignoring the fact that it wasn’t even the time for them to sleep.
Jie Fu Lian had a habit of sleeping in his inner garments and so, unconsciously, he took his outer robes off and placed them aside. When Hua Tianshu saw this, he also did the same.
The futon was made for only a single person and hence, it need not be said that the futon was too small to accompany two fully grown men.
Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian barely managed to squeeze in together and still, half of their shoulder was outside the futon while their other shoulder was rubbing against each other.
Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but gulp as he felt his heart race. As soon as he laid down, he realized how bad of a decision this was. There was no way either of them could get sleep like this. They might as well stay up all night with the awkward atmosphere hanging around them.
Jie Fu Lian couldn’t even move an inch ’cause if he did, he would be rubbing against Hua Tianshu and the same went for Hua Tianshu as well who had already perfected the art of staying so still that his presence became even more noticeable.
