The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 164: Jie Fu Lian’s fate rests in your hands
Shen Fang saved Yin Ru, Hua Meifang, and Xue Liang, however, the damage had already been done and by the time, they came out of the abyss, the three had already gone insane.
When Hua Tianshu saw this scene, he couldn’t help but feel extremely shocked. He was sure that his sister had suffered due to the abyss, but it seemed that the words spouted by Yin Ru were true. It wasn’t the abyss that had almost killed them, it was someone else who had attacked them with the intention of killing them.
If it weren’t for the demon king, perhaps the three would not have even made it out alive.
Shen Fang had failed to recognize the man in the black mask but Hua Tianshu was not the same.
Even though the man’s face was covered with a black mask, Hua Tianshu still managed to recognize him and felt greatly angered.
It was Jin Long.
There was no doubt about it.
The memory once again changed and this time, he could see the demon king sitting on his throne, looking down at a strange person who was completely covered in black smoke, making it hard to even tell whether it was a man or a woman.
"Who are you?" Shen Fang’s eyes narrowed down on the person as he questioned.
The person took out a small pouch and threw it over to Shen Fang as he spoke, "Think about it."
"Think about what?" Shen Fang questioned, feeling a little confused as he caught the small pouch that seemed to have been sealed with the use of spiritual energy.
"Jie Fu Lian’s fate."
Shen Fang’s eyes slightly widened and he seemed to be shocked at the strange man’s words.
"I’ll give you the chance to choose," The strange man spoke with his heavy voice, "If you want, you can destroy the soul contained inside that pouch. It would be a cruel decision but I won’t blame you. Fate is the only one to be blamed for what happened to Jie Fu Lian."
"You are Heaven’s eye... Aren’t you?" Shen Fang frowned as he asked.
The strange man was suddenly silent and responded only after a minute, "That’s right."
"You were the one who killed Bai LiuXian and blamed it on that pitiful child," Shen Fang spoke, accusingly.
Heaven’s eye nodded his head, not even bothering to defend himself as he spoke, "That’s right. It was me."
"You dare show up in front of me?" Shen Fang scoffed as he glared at the man, "How courageous!"
"This wasn’t what I wanted," Heaven’s eye sighed as he spoke, "That’s why I’m here. I need to make up for my mistakes, don’t I?"
"So what are you trying to do? Are you trying to summon him back? Do you think that would fix everything?"
Heaven’s eye shook his head as he spoke, "I must not be forgiven and I’m not trying to fix things. I just want to do this. I felt like I owed that much to him."
"I’m sorry to disappoint you but this is useless," Shen Fang sighed as he spoke, "Even if you bring me his soul now, I cannot do anything. It has already been eight years. He is long gone and there is no other body suitable enough to contain his soul."
"There is one," Heaven’s eye spoke as he raised his head and looked straight at the demon king, "That’s why I’m leaving the decision with you. Jie Fu Lian’s fate rests in your hands. You know what to do, don’t you?"
Shen Fang pursed his lips into a thin line and gulped as he heard these words. He knew exactly what Heaven’s eye was talking about, but his reluctance to use that method was also clearly justified.
If he could bring Jie Fu Lian back, of course, he would do it. However, to bring Jie Fu Lian back at the cost of his own life... Now that was a hard decision that Shen Fang could not impulsively make.
Heaven’s eye bowed his head and took his leave without bothering to say anything more, leaving Shen Fang in an awkward situation.
For the next few days, Shen Fang stared at the little pouch with a complicated expression plastered on his face.
He had always regretted not being able to do anything when Xue Lan and Quan Mu died. When he decided to seal Jie Fu Lian’s demonic Qi away and sent him away to the Yan sect, he made the decision to sever all ties between them in hopes of letting Jie Fu Lian live a normal life.
When Jie Fu Lian died, Shen Fang was greatly saddened and angered. For the last eight years, he had been blaming himself for the death of both his son and grandson. The guilt had tormented him to the point where he couldn’t even sleep peacefully at night without having nightmares.
He now had a chance to free himself of the guilt.
In the end, Shen Fang wrote a letter and anonymously sent it to the HuiXue sect as he made up his mind.
He was going to do it.
He was going to sacrifice his own life in order to bring Jie Fu Lian back.
He had already lived such a long life filled with only pain, regret, and guilt. He thought he deserved to live such a torturous life, but now, he felt as if he had finally got a chance to make up for his sins.
As soon as he had made the decision, he was overcome with a feeling of relief and happiness.
He knew that Jie Fu Lian would be shocked to wake up in his body and he believed that the only person he could be trusted with Jie Fu Lian’s safety was Hua Tianshu. There was no doubt in his mind that Hua Tianshu would be able to realize the meaning behind the letter and would immediately find Jie Fu Lian.
The memory faded away into a void of darkness.
Hua Tianshu didn’t know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he slowly tried to comprehend what he had just witnessed.
It was something hard to believe but it seemed like the benefactor that Hua Tianshu had wanted to thank was no other than the demon king who gave up his own life in order to summon Jie Fu Lian back.
For a minute or two, Hua Tianshu stood there, feeling too shocked to even move.
However, he immediately snapped out of his thoughts when he felt the ground beneath him move.
Hua Tianshu spread his arms out and tried to balance himself on the shaking ground, trying his best not to panic.
He had no idea what was happening but he had a feeling that it wasn’t going to be anything good.
Since Hua Tianshu could see nothing in this endless space filled with darkness, his other senses had gotten a lot sharper and he heard the sound of a sandstorm heading toward him from a distance.
Hua Tianshu tried to use his spiritual energy, only to realize that he could not use it inside the demon king’s mind.
For a second there, Hua Tianshu feared for his life, knowing that getting caught in that sandstorm might even cost him his life.
Hua Tianshu’s survival instincts kicked in and his feet were the first to take action. He immediately started running away from the sandstorm as fast as he could.
Suddenly, the ground in front of him disappeared and Hua Tianshu, who could see nothing, went ahead and fell into the ditch.
Hua Tianshu immediately touched the walls around him and sighed in relief, feeling that this place was probably a bit safer since he was now covered by walls from all sides. However, that feeling did not last for long.
The walls suddenly started closing up on him, with the full intention to crush him in between.
Hua Tianshu, who could not even use his spiritual energy quickly grabbed the protruding rocks on the walls and climbed up to safety only to realize that the sandstorm had gotten closer to him.
Without getting a moment to catch his breath, Hua Tianshu was forced to once again run for his life.
It didn’t take him long to realize that he was being rejected by the demon king’s mind that had noticed his presence.
Suddenly, Hua Tianshu tripped on a rock and fell forward, face-planting on the ground.
He thought this was it for him. Even if he managed to push himself up and ran, he would still not be able to avoid getting caught up in that damned sandstorm.
Suddenly, he remembered Jie Fu Lian and he couldn’t help but wonder how nice it would have been to have Jie Fu Lian by his side at his final moments.
Perhaps the heavens had heard his prayers ’cause in the very next moment, Hua Tianshu felt a hand grabbing his wrist and pulling him away to safety.
