The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 170: He loves me!
"Then why hasn’t he woken up yet?" Jin Shifeng asked as she looked at Hua Tianshu who was still lying unconscious.
"Aren’t you the one who is supposed to tell me the answer to that?"
Jin Shifeng gulped, feeling a little guilty.
As Jie Fu Lian glanced at Hua Tianshu’s face, it slowly started dawning on him that everything had not been a dream.
He gasped and immediately covered his mouth as he shouted, "TianTian loves me!"
Jin Shifeng snapped her head toward Jie Fu Lian with a frown as she asked, "Are you trying to show off?"
"He loves me! He really loves me! It wasn’t just a dream!" Jie Fu Lian exclaimed, his heart racing with excitement, "He kissed me! I wasn’t imagining it!"
"How many times are you going to repeat that?"
"You don’t understand! I mean, I already kinda guessed it when I saw all those paintings that he drew of me but he confessed to me with his own mouth! He said he loves me! Do you even know how hard it was for me to pretend as if I was unaware?!"
Jin Shifeng pursed her lips into a thin line and for a second there, she wondered if Jie Fu Lian was still being affected by the side effects of the curse.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Jin Shifeng asked out of worry.
"But why hasn’t he woken up yet?!" Jie Fu Lian questioned, the smile on his face dropping almost immediately, "He looked absolutely fine. I am sure he didn’t get hurt."
Jin Shifeng gulped as she heard this and spoke, "I have a question to ask you."
"Hmm?"
"Did he really enter your mind or did he enter the demon king’s mind?"
"Huh?" Jie Fu Lian’s eyebrow creased together as he heard this and he didn’t quite understand the question.
"I did not think about this before but I just realized that the body you are in right now is not your own."
Jie Fu Lian had a bad feeling as he heard this but did not say anything.
Jin Shifeng sighed as she continued, "I think your current situation has made things a bit complicated."
"What do you mean...?"
"If somehow, you were both inside the demon king’s mind and not in yours, there is a possibility that the demon king might hold him back."
Jie Fu Lian immediately frowned as he heard this.
"What can we do?"
"Nothing," Jin Shifeng shrugged her shoulders as she spoke, "All we can do is wait for him to wake up on his own."
"And... If he doesn’t wake up...?" Jie Fu Lian hesitantly questioned.
Jin Shifeng gulped as she heard this question and simply shook her head without saying anything, choosing to keep her mouth shut.
"Jin Shifeng, you have really done something useless," Jie Fu Lian glared at the woman as he spoke.
"I’ll apologize for that," Jin Shifeng replied with a sigh, lowering her head out of guilt, "But I’m sure you would have asked me to do the same if you were in his shoes so I do not regret helping him."
"..." Jie Fu Lian couldn’t even defend himself because he knew that her words were pretty accurate.
In the end, with no other choice left, the two decided to wait it out, hoping for the man to wake up soon.

When Hua Tianshu opened his eyes, he was still inside the dark void that he had come to know as the demon king’s mind. As soon as he woke up, he looked around in search of Jie Fu Lian but failed to find the man.
"Jie Ming, where are you?" He called out to the man but got no response, "Are you here? Jie Ming?"
Suddenly, he heard a slithering sound and frowned as he asked, "Is it Shen Fang...?"
The snake monster moved closer to him and surrounded him with its tail as it easily picked him up.
"Where is Jie Ming?" Hua Tianshu questioned, not sounding amused.
"He has returned," The snake spoke, giving a response.
Hua Tianshu’s eyebrows creased together in confusion as he heard this and he questioned, "Then why am I still here?"
"You came here without my permission but leaving, on the other hand, would not be that simple."
Hua Tianshu frowned as he heard this, having a bad feeling about the situation.
"Are you threatening to kill me right now?" Hua Tianshu asked, sounding unafraid as he added, "I’m sure Jie Ming would not be happy with that."
The snake hissed at Hua Tianshu as it heard this.
"You are right, I cannot kill you," The snake spoke, not bothering to lie about its intentions, "But I have something that you need to do for me. It’s the second and last favor that I’ll ask of you."
"The second?" Hua Tianshu raised an eyebrow as he heard this and asked, "When did you ask for the first favor?"
"When I sent you the letter."
"That can hardly be considered a favor," Hua Tianshu sighed as he replied, "Even if you had not sent me that letter, I’m sure that I would’ve found Jie Ming again and I would’ve treated him the same."
"For me, it is still considered a favor."
Hua Tianshu didn’t bother saying anything against that.
In the end, Shen Fang was also a quite pitiful person and Hua Tianshu didn’t really want to argue with the remanents of the demon king.
"So what is the favor that you are talking about?" Hua Tianshu asked, "If it is something that I can do then I’ll help you."
"I have a message for my grandson," The snake spoke, its voice sounding quite desperate.
"Hmm?" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"When you go back to meet him, can you tell him the truth?"
"Huh?" Hua Tianshu frowned, feeling a little confused as he heard this.
"Tell him what you saw in here. Tell him how I had turned his grandmother away and how I had indirectly caused the death of both his fathers. If there is someone that he wants to blame then tell him to blame it all on me. He is innocent and he had always been innocent. It doesn’t matter if shares the same blood as me or not, he is not me and he will never be a monster like me."
Hua Tianshu pursed his lips into a thin line as he heard this and said nothing in response, patiently letting the snake speak.
"Tell him that I’m sorry... I should’ve never given him away to that damned Jie Yang Zan. If I could do it all over again, I would certainly want to raise him with my own two hands this time. I would want to be in front of him when he learns to walk for the first time, ready to catch him when he falls. I would teach him everything I know and make sure that nothing in this world ever bothers him. I would let him know that it’s okay to make mistakes and chase after dreams that make him happy. If only I could do it all over again... But unfortunately, it is too late for that. The mistakes that I have made cannot be reversed and all I can do is make it up to him with my own body. Even as I die, I do not regret sacrificing my life for his. This is the least that I can do for him."
Hua Tianshu sighed as he heard this and spoke, "You are quite a pitiful old man. However, I won’t be telling him any of that. I’ll tell him that you sacrificed your life because you care for him and I’ll let him know that you did so because you were approached by Heaven’s eye who gave you a part of Jie Fu Lian’s soul."
The snake seemed quite surprised by Hua Tianshu’s words but did not react too badly.
Without any hesitance, Hua Tianshu firmly continued, "Except for that, I would not be telling him anything else because I do not want him to live in regret as you did. I do not wish to see him think of a ’what if’. The things in the past cannot be changed and just because you care for him does not mean you did not abandon him. It would be better for him to remain oblivious to the regrets that haunt you even after death. I will not tell him that you sacrificed yourself out of guilt for what happened ’cause if I do that, he would blame himself for your death as well and that is not something that he should have to live with."
"Shen Fang, you are a pitiful person, but you are also an asshole who abandoned his family. The lover you turned away, the child you abandoned, and the grandson you gave away, I’m sure they will never forgive you nor understand your decision and that is the cruel fate that you deserve."
At first, the snake was a bit offended by Hua Tianshu’s words, but as it listened more, it nodded its head in guilt, agreeing with the man.
"You are right. I do not deserve forgiveness and I dare not wish for it either," The snake spoke, "All I want is for Jie Fu Lian to live an ordinary life, surrounded by the people he loves and those that love him."
