Jie Fu Lian shook his head as he spoke, "It’s the master of curses."

Hua Tianshu immediately looked around as he heard this, however, all he could see was the thick fog that surrounded them.

"He has a part of my soul."

When Hua Tianshu heard this, for a second there, his heart stopped in fear.

"What...?" He questioned in disbelief as he looked at Jie Fu Lian.

Jie Fu Lian didn’t know why but he suddenly had the urge to laugh as he wondered what was happening.

He was sure that the master of curses was near them since he could feel that man’s sinful energy. However, Changbo had also decided to act up and it didn’t take long for Jie Fu Lian to sense that something was wrong.

The current master of curses was holding a part of Jie Fu Lian’s soul that was believed to have been destroyed.

"That’s impossible," Hua Tianshu spoke with a frown as he pointed out, "If he had a part of your soul, I would’ve known. The only one who managed to find a part of your soul was Bai YiJun."

"Could that Bai YiJun also be working with the master of curses...?" Shen Chao questioned.

Jie Fu Lian immediately shook his head as he firmly denied it, "He wouldn’t."

"How can you be so sure?" Shen Chao asked.

"I trust him," Jie Fu Lian replied without missing a beat.

"You also trusted Jin Long," Jin Shifeng spoke as she pointed out.

"That was different."

"Jie Ming is right," Hua Tianshu sighed as he agreed with the man and spoke, "Bai YiJun would never betray him."

"How can we be sure?" This time, it was Yu Wei who asked this question, looking to be genuinely curious as to why both Jie Fu Lian and Hua Tianshu believed the man to be innocent.

"Because he likes me," Jie Fu Lian casually spoke, shocking everyone.

Even Hua Tianshu, who already knew the truth, was shocked to hear this coming from Jie Fu Lian’s mouth.

"Then there is a chance that Bai YiJun would betray you," Shen Chao spoke as he sighed, "He might have started to dislike you because of your lack of affection for him, and in the worst-case scenario, he might even want to take revenge by teaming up with your enemies."

Jie Fu Lian looked to be quite unimpressed as he heard this, "He is not that type of person. Even if I don’t like him, he won’t be pathetic enough to take revenge or turn against me."

Hua Tianshu nodded his head as he added, "I hate to admit it but Jie Ming is right. Bai YiJun is not that type of person. He is honorable enough to be considered my rival. If he was such a person, I would have never felt threatened by his relationship with Jie Ming."

Jie Fu Lian smirked as he heard this and nudged Hua Tianshu as he playfully asked, "Are you openly accepting the fact that you were jealous?"

Hua Tianshu glanced back at Jie Fu Lian without any hesitance as he nodded his head and confirmed it, "I was jealous."

"They are right," Mo Xue, who didn’t really seem to be much interested in the topic, spoke up as he agreed with Jie Fu Lian, "That Bai YiJun was the first one to go looking for Master Jie Fu Lian inside the abyss. He was also the one who found Master Jie Fu Lian’s sword and a part of his soul. I don’t know him personally, but I believe that he had acted rashly only because it was Master Jie Fu Lian who was in danger. Of all the people in the world, Bai YiJun would never betray my Master."

"Wow~ The great king of demonic beasts thinks so highly of him. I’m a bit surprised," Jie Fu Lian chuckled as he spoke.

"But then where did the soul come from?" Shen Chao questioned with a frown.

"We’ll find out once we capture him," Jie Fu Lian replied, trying his best to sound confident, hiding his worries.

Hua Tianshu side glanced at the man as he heard this and immediately guessed what was going on in Jie Fu Lian’s mind.

"Don’t worry too much about it," Hua Tianshu grabbed Jie Fu Lian’s hand as he reassured him, "It doesn’t matter what he’s trying to do. We have the eternal hell tower with us and as long as we can capture him, we can win."

Jie Fu Lian smiled as he heard this and gave a nod.

"Master, you should be careful," Mo Xue spoke up, not daring to show the fact that he was worried, and acting cool as he casually spoke, "There is probably a reason why he has your soul. He might be trying to use it against you or something."

"I know," Jie Fu Lian nodded as he responded, "But even if he tries to threaten me with it, we won’t back down. I’m not letting them leave this abyss."

When Mo Xue heard this, he immediately guessed that Jie Fu Lian was being serious and already had a reckless plan in his mind that did not give priority to his personal safety.

"Master, if you jump into fire, I’ll jump in with you."

"I just thought you should know that," Mo Xue sighed as he spoke.

Jie Fu Lian thinly smiled, "If I jump into fire, it would be to keep you from jumping so don’t you dare do something reckless."

Jie Fu Lian pursed his lips into a thin line as he heard this but said nothing.

"Why would you three be jumping into fire?" Shen Chao innocently asked, tilting his head in confusion, unable to understand why anyone would want to jump into fire.

Ren Lei sighed as she heard this question and smacked the back of the man’s head, "Just shut up and don’t ask stupid questions."

Shen Chao rubbed his head and frowned, feeling as if he had been wronged.

"Something’s weird," Yu Wei spoke, her muscles suddenly stiffening a little.

Jie Fu Lian also felt it and frowned as he spoke, "The master of curses has disappeared..."

"Huh...?"

"Let’s go!" Jie Fu Lian exclaimed as he went ahead first. The rest of the group took his lead and followed him to the place where the Master of curses had previously been waiting at.

"He isn’t here..." Mo Xue muttered, his lips curling down in a frown.

"Where did he go?" Shen Chao questioned, his eyebrows creasing together.

"I can’t sense him anymore," Jie Fu Lian spoke, feeling both confused and worried, "It’s like he disappeared into thin air."

"How is that possible?" Jin Shifeng questioned, summoning her sword and trying her best to use as little of her spiritual energy as she could.

"Be on guard," Jie Fu Lian spoke as he warned everyone, "They might have already spotted us."

Yu Wei gulped as she heard this and looked around, trying to see through the thick fog.

"Master Jie Fu Lian, did he not have a part of your soul? You can track it, can’t you?"

"The soul has also disappeared."

"What?-"

Suddenly, they heard the sound of a man’s laughter surrounding them.

Jie Fu Lian tried to track the owner of the voice but failed.

"Are you the master of curses...?" Jie Fu Lian raised his voice as he questioned, almost seeming as if he was talking to thin air.

The person once again laughed, his laugh seeming almost sinister.

Jie Fu Lian secretly extended his palm out to Jin Shifeng who immediately understood what he wanted and gave him the eternal hell tower.
