Jin Long nodded his head with no shame as he admitted it, "I tried to kill her but annoyingly enough, got interrupted by that damned Shen Fang who managed to save her. I almost thought she would blurt out the truth to everyone but luckily enough, her cultivation roots were completely destroyed and she lost her mind. Ah, I think she wasn’t the only one who ended up like that. Your senior martial sister Yin Ru also ended up like that. It was quite a pleasant surprise."

Jie Fu Lian clenched his fist as he heard this and tried his best to control his temper.

"So you were the one who killed Shi XiuYing?"

Jin Long nodded his head, "That’s right."

"Why...?"

"Because he got in the way," Jin Long casually replied as he shrugged it off as unimportant, "He should’ve known better than to interfere."

"Jin Long... Just why have you changed so much?" Jie Fu Lian gritted out as he questioned in pure disbelief, anger, and disgust. "You used to be such an innocent child."

"Brother Ming, I was always like this. You just failed to see it," Jin Long laughed as he spoke, looking straight at Jie Fu Lian, "You want to know why I destroyed the Yan sect and killed everyone? It was because even after killing you, the prophecy did not change."

Jin Long’s smile dropped as he continued with a serious expression, "You were dead but the future remained the same. The heavens were certain that I would be killed by you so I once again tried to change my fate. It was clear that you were dead but there was a chance that you could be summoned back and the only people who would dare to do that would be the ones who were the dearest to you. If someone from the Yan Sect summoned you back, it would have been troublesome. The Yan Sect was a variable to my perfect plan and so, I erased the existence of such a variable."

For a second there, Jie Fu Lian doubted his ears. He could not digest this truth at all.

"That’s it...?" Jie Fu Lian asked in disbelief, clutching tightly onto Changbo’s hilt, "You killed hundreds and thousands of people just because of such a stupid reason?"

"It may seem stupid to you, but for me, it was a matter of life or death. I only did what I needed to do in order to survive."

Jie Fu Lian scoffed as he heard this and questioned, "So did that change the future?"

Jin Long’s face turned a little dark as he heard this question, "Unfortunately, the prophecy still refused to change. According to the heavens, you were still alive and I was still going to be killed by you. After that, I had to take things even more seriously and hired a bunch of informants in order to find you. If you had possessed the body of another cultivator or a mere human, perhaps you would’ve already died under my orders. Unfortunately, you possessed the body of the demon king. It was a possibility that I did not even imagine."

Jin Long took a deep breath in and sighed as he added, "But I won’t give up."

"Huh?" Jie Fu Lian raised an eyebrow as he looked down at Jin Long who was clearly injured and could not even stand up without further injuring himself.

"You are here to kill me, aren’t you? You are here to fulfill the prophecy. Unfortunately, I won’t let you get your way."

Jie Fu Lian opened his mouth to say something, but before any words could leave his mouth, he felt the ground beneath him shake and heard the distressed voice of Ren Lei.

"Damn it!"

Jie Fu Lian immediately turned around to look at the situation and his eyes slowly widened in shock.

Out from the shaking ground, came rats, thousands of them, digging themselves out.

Jie Fu Lian clenched his fist and immediately grabbed Jin Long’s collar and pulled him up as he threateningly questioned, "What the hell are you trying to do?!"

Jin Long laughed as he heard this question and threw his head back, not even bothering to struggle as he kept laughing.

Mo Xue gulped as he saw the rats and just as Jie Fu Lian had ordered him to, he first tried to control Jin Long through the rats. However, he quickly realized that it was clearly impossible to do it with thousands of rats going crazy, running around and creating a havoc.

Mo Xue did not bother wasting his time on trying to control them and immediately started killing them.

"What the hell are you trying to do?!" Jie Fu Lian punched Jin Long as he yelled.

Jin Long fell down from the hit but did not stop laughing. In fact, his mood only got better and he looked to be thoroughly enjoying the situation.

"Brother Ming, have you ever been in a disadvantageous situation?"

"Huh?"

Jin Long grinned as he stared at Jie Fu Lian.

"S-Shizun..." Duan Luoyang muttered as he grabbed onto Shen Chao’s clothes, "He’s after Shizun. We have to stop him."

Shen Chao’s eyebrows creased together as he heard this and he immediately looked over at Hua Tianshu who was trying to wake his sister up. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Elder Hua Tianshu looks to be doing fine," Shen Chao spoke, unable to understand why Duan Luoyang looked to be so worried.

Duan Luoyang frantically shook his head as he spoke, "It’s Hua Meifang. Get him away from her."

Shen Chao’s eyebrows creased together as he heard this and with a frown, he immediately questioned, "What do you mean?"

Before Duan Luoyang could say anything, they heard a choking sound coming from Hua Tianshu’s direction.

The two immediately turned their heads to look in disbelief as they saw Hua Meifang grabbing Hua Tianshu’s neck and with an expressionless face, choking the man with unhidden hostility.

"TianTian!" Jie Fu Lian also managed to notice and worriedly shouted as he looked on with confusion.

Hua Tianshu quickly grabbed Hua Meifang’s hand and tried to break free from her hold but miserably failed. His face turned red from suffocation. There was a sense of betrayal when he met Hua Meifang’s eyes, however, it was also hard for him to believe that his own sister had betrayed him.

He tried to say something but his words could hardly be deciphered, "H-Hua... Meifang... S-stop this..."

Jie Fu Lian gritted his teeth and immediately ran over to save Hua Tianshu.

If it had been someone else who was choking and trying to kill Hua Tianshu, Jie Fu Lian would have certainly chopped the person’s arm off and saved Hua Tianshu. However, unfortunately, it was Hua Meifang who was trying to kill the man and for Hua Tianshu’s sake, Jie Fu Lian didn’t want to hurt the woman.

With no mercy, Hua Meifang tightened her hold around Hua Tianshu’s neck, almost cutting off the blood supply to his head completely.

Jie Fu Lian made a hand seal and immediately attacked Hua Meifang. The force was certainly enough to throw the woman at least a few meters away, but shockingly enough, she didn’t even move an inch and acted as if she could barely feel it.

Jie Fu Lian’s eyebrows creased together and he grabbed onto Hua Meifang’s wrist and used his demonic Qi to force the woman to let go but it seemed as if even that was of no use.

Duan Luoyang clenched his fist and bit his bottom lip as a tear rolled down his cheeks. He tried his best not to let his voice break as he shouted, "She’s dead! She’s already.... Dead!"

As soon as Jie Fu Lian heard this, his eyes widened in shock and he looked at the woman in pure disbelief.

If she was a mere corpse puppet then it made sense why Jie Fu Lian’s attack did not work on her. However, it was still not something easy to believe. In the first place itself, there was no hint of her being a corpse puppet. She certainly looked and felt alive.

Even after hearing what Duan Luoyang had said, Jie Fu Lian still did not dare act rashly.

Yu Wei, who saw this whole scene, could no longer keep quite and watch. She stepped up and covered Hua Meifang’s eyes with her hands. Jin Shifeng, who saw this, also used her hands to cover the woman’s ears as she understood what Yu Wei was trying to do.

Suddenly, with her eyes and ears blocked off, Hua Meifang let go of Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian quickly caught the man before he fell to the floor.

"She’s not dead yet," Yu Wei sighed as she spoke, "But she is slowly dying. If she does not wake up, then she’ll turn into a puppet forever."

When Jie Fu Lian heard this, he frowned in confusion, not understanding what the woman was saying.

Yu Wei, who knew that the man was unable to understand her words, rolled her eyes as she straightforwardly spoke, "We have to kill Jin Long before he kills her!"

This time, Jie Fu Lian was able to perfectly understand what the woman was saying and firmly nodded his head as he turned to Jin Long.
