Jin Long and Hua Tianshu talked a lot. Mostly, it was just Jin Long entertaining them in a conversation where Hua Tianshu only gave small, few-word replies.

When they were done eating, Hua Tianshu showed his interest in exploring the Jin Sect and Jin long excitedly suggested becoming their guide for the day.

’Hua Tianshu, is Jin Gengxin dead?’ Jie Fu Lian once again used voice transmission as he asked.

’He’s not. Why are you asking?’

’We’ve yet to meet him. Isn’t it polite for the sect leader to be present in a banquet organized for a special guest?’

’He went into seclusion three years ago.’

’Oh...’ Jie Fu Lian muttered in understanding as he nodded his head.

Jin Long looked to be quite proud of his sect as he showed Hua Tianshu around. In fact, for a second there, Jie Fu Lian could see the raw enthusiasm that reminded him of the old Jin Long that whom he had been friends with.

"Hua Gongzi, you might not believe me but I was really happy to know that you were visiting our sect," Jin Long smiled as he spoke, and it looked like he was telling the truth. "After brother Jie Ming’s death... Forget it. It’s best not to mention it and ruin the mood."

Jie Fu Lian heard his name popping up in the conversation and he immediately grew interested but in the very next second, Jin Long acted as if his tongue had slipped and refused to talk about it.

Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but feel a little weird. It had been eight years since he had died, but every time he met someone he once knew, they would somehow end up mentioning him. It seemed that although he had died, he was still present in everyone’s memory and that made him feel a little proud of himself.

If so many people still remember him, he must have lived a good life with good people by his side.

As soon as this thought crossed his mind, he wanted to laugh a little at his own stupid thoughts. It was quite ironic that he was saying something like this when in reality, on the day he died, only Hua Tianshu was there to stand by his side while all the ’good’ people that he had been surrounded by, switched sides and pointed fingers at him.

The reason why Hua Tianshu had asked for a tour of the Jin Sect was not simply because he wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and inspect the disciple’s daily routine. In reality, he wanted to get Jie Fu Lian and Duan Luoyang familiarized with the layout of the place.

Later on, the two would have to work together and steal information from the Jin Sect so, of course, they needed to learn all the escape routes and less-guarded places where they could hide.

After walking for about twenty minutes, they finally reached the place that they were most interested in seeing.

"This is the record room?" Hua Tianshu asked as he guessed.

Jin Long nodded his head with a polite smile as he confirmed, "That’s right. There are two guards stationed outside the record room at all times and there are three more that are stationed inside. Excluding the guards, there are also numerous talismans and traps placed inside the record room. Without my permission, even a fly can’t get in."

The wolf cub yawned as he heard this and Hua Tianshu silently nodded his head. Unlike their companion, Duan Luoyang, who looked to be a little worried as he frowned upon hearing this, the other two seemed to be uninterested in the information.

With such tight security, it would probably be hard for them to sneak in and steal anything. However, the one sneaking in was Jie Fu Lian. It didn’t matter even if Jin Long had guarded this place with his own life, Jie Fu Lian would still be able to sneak in and steal.

Duan Luoyang, who had never done anything like this was naturally a little worried, but Jie Fu Lian who was an experienced veteran at this was clearly confident with his own skills and had no such worries or hesitation.

Jin Long continued to show them around and while they were following him, somebody suddenly caught Jie Fu Lian’s eyes.

The little wolf cub jumped off Hua Tianshu’s arms and swiftly landed on its feet before it ran over towards the stranger that had caught his eye.

Hua Tianshu frowned as he saw this sudden action, but he didn’t bother stopping the wolf cub.

Jin Long, on the other hand, was calm when he saw the wolf cub jumping off and running away, but when his eyes trailed towards the face of the person the wolf cub was running towards, his face twisted in fear and worry.

He couldn’t help but helplessly think, ’Of all the people that they had come across, did this little wolf cub really have to attack his wife?!’

"Aye! Little Wolf! Don’t run! Stop! Don’t attack her!" Jin Long cried out as he ran after the little wolf cub.

Jin Shifeng turned her head and at first, she saw her husband running towards her with a horrified pale face, then she looked down only to see a little wolf cub running towards her with hostility.

Jin Shifeng immediately frowned as she formed a hand seal and created a barrier around herself.

The wolf cub jumped at her but was immediately thrown back by the barrier.

Hua Tianshu wanted to laugh but he controlled his expressions and only let out a sigh as he sent a voice transmission to Jie Fu Lian and asked, "Why are you chasing a random woman?"

The little wolf cub stood up on its four short paws and shook his head as he looked up at the woman with eyes that seemed to be covering most part of his face, dark and shining, holding no hostility at all.

Jin Shifeng’s eyebrows creased together and her frown deepened but when she saw this wolf cub’s expression, she couldn’t help but put away the barrier.

"What is this?" Jin Shifeng questioned and it wasn’t clear who this question was aimed at but the meaning behind the question was pretty clear.

Jin Long scratched the back of his head as he continuously bowed his head in embarrassment and apologized, "This wolf cub belongs to Hua Gongzi. I’m extremely sorry to have disturbed you. Normally, the wolf cub is more mannered. I really don’t know what happened to it."

Jie Fu Lian didn’t bother replying to Hua Tianshu’s last voice transmission, but now that he saw Jin Long acting so submissive in front of this woman, he couldn’t help but frown as he sent Hua Tianshu a voice transmission and asked, "Who is this woman? What is their relationship?"

"You ignored me previously. Now that you want to know something, you turn to me? How shameless."

"..." Jie Fu Lian didn’t bother arguing with that and remained silent, seeming to accept his wrongdoings.

Before Hua Tianshu could inform him of the woman’s identity, Duan Luoyang had already spoken up.
