"You’re a coward," Hua Tianshu sighed as he replied to the voice, "You don’t even dare come out."

The demon laughed as he heard this and sounded quite amused as he responded, "I may be a coward but I’m smart and not an idiot like you. If you can’t even tell the difference between the real me and an illusion of me, how can you say that you’ll defeat the demon king?"

"Don’t worry" Hua Tianshu raised his sword as he faced his own sister and spoke, "I’ll defeat you and your illusion before I kill that damned Demon King of yours."

"I’d like to see you try~" The demon teasingly laughed.

Hua Meifang didn’t hold back in any of her attacks. All of her attacks were aimed at Hua Tianshu and each time her sword struck, it was imbued with spiritual energy that was more than enough to kill him with a single blow.

Hua Tianshu didn’t attack the woman back. He only dodged and avoided taking a hit for as long as he could.

Their battle didn’t look all too impressive. In fact, it couldn’t even be called a battle since Hua Tianshu wasn’t even interested in attacking back.

Hua Meifang was fighting without trying to limit the usage of her spiritual Qi so it was only natural that she would soon exhaust herself and show an opening.

When that opening was finally seen, Hua Tianshu didn’t waste a single second as he hit the back of the woman’s neck and knocked her unconscious.

"Well done," The demon’s voice complimented Hua Tianshu but the demon didn’t sound to be worried at all. On the contrary, the demon genuinely sounded a bit happy and that annoyed Hua Tianshu to the core.

Hua Tianshu didn’t let his guard down and as expected, the fight was yet to be over.

Three of the HuiXue sect disciples who had come here together with Hua Tianshu now attacked him in unison with bloodshot eyes and murderous intent. They were the same as Hua Meifang, completely under the control of the demon who had used the art of manipulation.

This time, Hua Tianshu didn’t bother waiting to exhaust the three disciples. These three disciples had previously pointed at Jie Fu Lian and suggested killing him so Hua Tianshu still held a grudge against them.

He easily deflected all their attacks and although they had outnumbered him, he was still able to easily outpower them.

"Why would I do that when this is much more fun?" The demon also questioned back without missing a beat.

Hua Tianshu felt the presence of someone sneaking up behind him and he immediately dodged the attack as he moved aside and caught the hand that was about to punch him.

This time, it was the boy that Jie Fu Lian referred to as ’Tail’.

Hua Tianshu frowned as he saw the boy who didn’t even have a sword. With bloodshot red eyes and an expression of pure hatred, he showed the same signs as Hua Meifang and the three HuiXue sect disciples.

Hua Tianshu was about to knock the boy out but the boy ducked his head down and quickly dodged. His reaction speed was quite impressive and Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but feel a little surprised.

The boy lifted his leg and flipped as he kicked Hua Tianshu and shockingly enough, the kick landed on Hua Tianshu’s face.

Hua Tianshu was immediately thrown off balance and fell down.

Hua Tianshu felt another presence coming over to attack him and immediately climbed on his feet before moving away.

A sword suddenly struck the ground where he had been lying.

Jin Long had also joined the fight.

Hua Tianshu gulped as he looked at the two people.

If they attacked him individually, he could easily take them down but if they attacked together like this, it would be hard for him to beat them.

Jin Long was more practiced with long-distance fighting while Tail was well versed in close contact physical martial arts. They filled each other’s weaknesses and when paired up, they became a duo that had no weakness.

"How do you like this gift?" The demon asked, feeling quite amused, "Can you beat them?"

Hua Tianshu gritted his teeth as he heard the demon’s voice.

Even if this Duo was a bit intimidating, Hua Tianshu could still beat them, but he couldn’t beat them without hurting them.

They looked to be Jie Fu Lian’s friends and had already shown that they could be trusted. Although Hua Tianshu hated the fact that they were close friends of Jie Fu Lian, he was still a man with a rational mind. If he were to hurt them, Jie Fu Lian would surely be mad and Hua Tianshu didn’t want to anger the man.

Jin Long and Tail worked in perfect sync as they attacked Hua Tianshu and the man also made sure not to let his guard down as he avoided every attack.

In the end, Hua Tianshu finally got an idea as he turned around and started running away.

The demon was a bit confused by Hua Tianshu’s sudden reaction and quickly asked, "Why are you running away? Did you already give up? We didn’t even get to the good part."

Jin Long and Tail chased after him like angry barking Dogs that were ready to tear him apart.

After running for just a bit, Hua Tianshu entered a random store and as soon as Jin Long and Tail crossed the store’s threshold, diety bounding ropes appeared and tied around their legs before dragging them up and leaving them to hang upside down inside the shop.

"A trap?" The demon’s voice sounded amused and a bit shocked as he spoke, "I didn’t expect you to be so cunning but it is quite refreshing to see these turn of events."

Hua Tianshu smirked as he heard this and replied, "You are right. I’m not cunning enough to lay traps for you. I’ll have to thank my sister for being the smart one."

The demon didn’t give a response as he heard this and Hua Tianshu felt that something was wrong.

Hua Meifang had ordered Junior martial brother Zhang to lay traps all over the city but the demon who was currently using his demonic Qi hadn’t been caught. It didn’t seem like the demon was aware of the traps so he couldn’t have possibly avoided them. To avoid them unknowingly was also quite impossible.

Hua Tianshu gulped as he counted all the people that he had fought today.

Hua Meifang.

In total, six people.

Hua Tianshu suddenly frowned as he remembered something. There were supposed to be nine people in this dream. Excluding Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian, there would be seven left but so far, Hua Tianshu had only fought six!

Hua Tianshu took a sharp breath in as he realized who the missing person was.

"Junior Martial Brother Zhang!" He called out but it was already too late.

From outside the shop, came the voice of the demon and the stench of blood.

Hua Tianshu gulped as he rushed outside only to find the demon holding up the disciple surnamed Zhang by his hair.

"Your little traps won’t work on me but it still annoys me," The demon smiled as he spoke and the disciple surnamed Zhang coughed out a mouthful of blood.

"Let him go!" Hua Tianshu sent his sword forward but the demon suddenly turned into smoke and the disciple surnamed Zhang fell down onto the floor.

Hua Tianshu didn’t rush over to help the disciple since he was already too late.

There was a deep cut on the disciple’s neck and he had lost too much blood. Even if Hua Tianshu tried, he would still not be able to save him anymore.

Hua Tianshu gulped as he looked around in search of the demon but the demon was once again nowhere to be seen.

"Hua Tianshu, congratulations!~" The demon sounded quite excited as he laughed, "You managed to lower the number of people Jie Fu Lian has to kill. One down, seven to go!~"

"You said you weren’t allowed to kill us," Hua Tianshu gritted out as he asked but there was no response, "You aren’t real, are you?"

Hua Tianshu took his sword and pierced his hand to check whether he was hallucinating or not.

Surely enough, there was blood and pain as well.

This was indeed real.

The demon laughed, "You really are impulsive, aren’t you? Did you think you were hallucinating or something? Don’t worry, I didn’t use my art of manipulation on you and I don’t plan to use it in the future as well."

"Who are you and how do you know Jie Ming?" Hua Tianshu questioned, his voice sounding extremely strict.
