The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 73: It’s time
"Jie Ming, it’s time."
The little wolf cub nodded his head as he heard this.
Hua Tianshu sat down on the bed with his legs crisscrossed over each other and closed his eyes as he chanted something while making a few hand seals.
All the doors and windows in the room were closed shut and in front of Hua Tianshu, there were two paper puppets that Jie Fu Lian had previously created in order to assist them with their plan.
Hua Tianshu imbued some spiritual energy into the two puppets and in the very next second, the two paper puppets came to life. Their forms slowly started changing and when the process was complete, one of the paper puppets looked identical to the little wolf cub called Ai Ming while the other looked like Duan Luoyang.
Jie Fu Lian carefully inspected the two paper puppets before giving a proud nod.
"You have three hours," Hua Tianshu opened his eyes as he looked at Jie Fu Lian and spoke, "That should be enough, right?"
The little wolf cub enthusiastically nodded his head as he heard this and Hua Tianshu could almost imagine Jie Fu Lian’s voice proudly stating, "Leave it up to me! I’m the best!"
The little wolf cub left the room and saw Duan Luoyang who was already waiting outside for him.
Duan Luoyang looked down at the wolf cub and nodded his head as he greeted Jie Fu Lian. He was no longer wearing the HuiXue sect robes and instead, was adorned in a Jin sect robe that he had managed to steal in the given short time.
From head to bottom, he looked like any other ordinary Jin Sect disciple. Not only his clothes, but even his mannerism matched. This was because they had already explored the sect grounds with Jin Long’s guidance and carefully observed all the disciples of the Jin sect.
The two had already discussed and practiced the plan beforehand and hence, there was no need to go over it again.
The little wolf cub nodded his head and Duan Luoyang immediately got the signal. He calmly walked first and headed for the sect record room with the little wolf cub following closely behind in secret.
For a variety of reasons, the record room was heavily monitored and guarded. As Jin Long had already informed them, there were two guards stationed outside the record room at all times and there are three more that were stationed inside. Excluding the guards, there were also numerous talismans and traps placed inside the record room.
Duan Luoyang’s job was to distract the two guards stationed outside the record room while Jie Fu Lian’s job was to sneak in and steal the information that they needed.
Jie Fu Lian didn’t have much expectation from Duan Luoyang since he felt that the man would probably be bad at tricking people since he was from the HuiXue sect, but unexpectedly enough, he soon learned that Duan Luoyang was quite a talented actor.
Instead of trying to catch the guard’s attention by doing something unnatural or suspicious, he only walked by them in a calm manner. That in itself was quite suspicious and attracted the guard’s attention.
"Stop right there," One of the guards spoke up as he carefully looked at Duan Luoyang.
Duan Luoyang obediently stopped in his tracks and turned to look at the two guards as he politely asked with a smile, "Yes?"
The guard looked at him up and down in suspicion before he asked, "It’s already late. What are you doing here?"
"I was just out for a stroll," Duan Luoyang beamed.
The guard didn’t seem to have been pleased by the answer and took a few steps forward as he approached Duan Luoyang and asked, "What is your name, and which division do you belong to?"
The corners of Duan Luoyang’s lips curled all the way up to his cheekbones and as he lowered his head, looking up at the guard with a firm gaze, his face truly looked a bit unsettling, if not, terrifying.
"I don’t have a name and I don’t have a division either."
The guard gulped as he heard this and as he saw the creepy expression on the man’s face, he unconsciously took a step back.
The other guard also abandoned his station and approached the two as he spoke, "Aren’t you the one who came with Daoist Hua Tianshu?"
Duan Luoyang laughed as he heard this and beautifully lied without batting an eye, "That’s not me."
"It’s definitely you," The guard insisted, "You look the same."
"No, that is not me," Duan Luoyang looked back at the guard and mischievously winked as he also insisted, "That was the original owner of this body."
The two guards shared a look of worry as they heard this but didn’t dare back down.
"Then who are you?"
"Me?" Duan Luoyang pointed at himself and laughed menacingly as he revealed, "I’m a ghost!"
The guards immediately took out their swords and threateningly pointed them at the man.
"Don’t play around!" One of the guards exclaimed.
Duan Luoyang giggled as he heard this and in the very next moment, he bit down on the red bead that Jie Fu Lian had given him. It was the red bead that was used to collect blood and as soon as it was broken, blood started uncontrollably pouring out of his mouth.
The two guards took a few steps back in fear.
"W-What’s wrong with you? Why is there b-blood coming out of your mouth...?!" One of them stuttered out.
"You don’t believe me?" Duan Luoyang questioned as his smile widened and under the soft moonlight, his pale face and red mouth truly looked like one that would belong to a ghost.
One of the guards raised his sword and immediately attacked Duan Luoyang who effortlessly dodged it and laughed as he fought back.
The two guards engaged in a serious battle with Duan Luoyang and Jie Fu Lian decided to make a move.
He approached the main door of the record room and closed his eyes as he tried to sense any spiritual Qi coming from the inside.
However, not only were the doors of the record room made with some sort of special metal but they were also sealed by strong talismans that Jie Fu Lian could not break from the outside. No matter how much Jie Fu Lian tried, he was still unable to sense anything.
In the end, he decided to enter the record room first before worrying about what kind of traps were waiting for him inside.
As the little wolf cub entered the record room from a small window, he was surrounded by three guards who had immediately detected his presence.
The little wolf cub calmly looked up at the three guards and if it weren’t for the fact that he had just broken into the record room, his innocent look could have almost been convincing.
"Isn’t that Daoist Hua Tianshu’s wolf cub?" One of the three guards questioned, feeling a little surprised.
"Is it lost?"
"You idiot, don’t be fooled. It may not even be a real animal."
Jie Fu Lian felt as if the guard who had said this was a bit sharp since he had guessed correctly.
"But look at it. It doesn’t look that harmful," Another one added and this one seemed to be a fool who had been smitten with the little wolf cub’s adorable face.
"It is still a spiritual wolf. If it was really harmless then Daoist Hua wouldn’t have been raising it so lovingly."
Jie Fu Lian mentally nodded his head as he heard this, whole-heartedly agreeing with the man.
"What should we do?"
"Let’s report it back to Madam Jin Shifeng."
As Jie Fu Lian heard this, he felt a little confused as he wondered why they planned to report it to Jin Shifeng first before reporting it to Jin Long who was the stand-in sect master.
The other guard nodded his head and was about to send out a voice transmission, but before he could do anything, his body stopped listening to him and his actions paused.
"Huh? What happ-" The other guard looked at the man with worry as he questioned but before he could complete his sentence, his body also stopped listening to him and he stood there like a lifeless puppet.
The third guard immediately looked at the little wolf cub, correctly identifying the perpetrator, however, he was also too slow and before he could do anything, the wolf cub was able to take control over his body as well.
’The art of manipulation,’ Jie Fu Lian proudly commented in his head, ’Who knew something like this could come in handy at a time like this?’
"Disable all the traps and tear up all the talismans monitoring this place," The little wolf cub opened its mouth and ordered out.
Like lifeless puppets that could no longer think for themselves, the three guards obediently nodded their heads and went away to carry out the task assigned to them.
Jie Fu Lian was a bit worried that his art of manipulation wouldn’t work since it was the first time he was using such a technique, but thankfully, it looked like borrowing the demon king’s body at a time like this really made things easy.
