Chapter 78: Ai Ming loves Master Hua the most.

Handing over the three talismans that she took out, Jin Shifeng warned, "They have a specific charm on them so make sure not to lose them. Other transportation talismans would not be able to take you to the Yu Sect. Only these ones with the charm would work."

Hua Tianshu nodded his head in understanding.

Jin Shifeng then looked at the little wolf cub and smiled as she spoke, "It’s a pity that I cannot raise such a lovely spiritual beast like Ai Ming."

The little wolf cub’s ears proudly perked up as if feeling elated after hearing these flattery words.

Hua Tianshu’s entire mood changed and he glared at the woman with an expression that clearly conveyed his feelings—’Stop bothering us and leave.’

However, Jin Shifeng failed to notice the change in Hua Tianshu’s demeanor and focused completely on the cuteness of the little wolf cub.

"I hope we meet again," Jin Shifeng softly spoke to the wolf cub as she extended her hand out to rub his little fluffy head, "I’m sure you’ll be just as cute even if you grow up."

The little wolf cub was very pleased with Jin Shifeng’s words and was about to lick the woman’s hand but suddenly stopped before he lifted his head and looked at Hua Tianshu.

Jin Shifeng looked a bit confused as she saw this reaction and in the next moment, the little wolf cub licked Hua Tianshu’s hand instead of Jin Shifeng’s.

Jin Shifeng couldn’t help but laugh as she realized what had happened and she spoke, "Such a smart little wolf cub. You don’t want your master to get jealous, is that it?"

The little wolf cub nodded his head and Jin Shifeng couldn’t help but fall even more in love with the fluffy beast’s cuteness.

Duan Luoyang chuckled as he took the chance to speak, "Ai Ming loves Master Hua the most."

Hua Tianshu’s ears immediately flushed red but he tried his best to maintain his composure.

Jin Shifeng nodded her head with a chuckle as she innocently agreed. In her eyes, Ai Ming was really a spiritual beast so she naturally didn’t find anything wrong with what Duan Luoyang had said but both Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian had completely different reactions than her.

"Madam Jin, thank you for the talisman. We’ll be taking our leave now," Hua Tianshu quickly spoke as he skillfully controlled his flustered expression.

Jin Shifeng softly smiled and nodded as she heard this.

In the very next moment, Hua Tianshu burned the three talismans and the three disappeared into thin air.

As soon as they reached the Yu Sect, the little wolf cub turned back into a human, or at least, a demon who looked like a human with his demonic Qi completely hidden away.

He was yet to recover from Duan Luoyang’s words and hence, his cheeks were coated with a light flush of red.

Hua Tianshu who saw Jie Fu Lian’s flushed cheeks couldn’t help but feel even more flustered and happy.

Duan Luoyang, who was the reason for this weird lovey-dovey atmosphere coughed loudly as he spoke, "Shizun, I think Madam Jin tricked us."

This one sentence snapped both Hua Tianshu and Jie Fu Lian back to reality.

Jie Fu Lian finally lifted his head properly and looked around only to be stunned at the sight.

Hua Tianshu was also the same but he was a bit better at hiding his shock and hence, there wasn’t a very noticeable change in his expression.

"Hua Tianshu, where’s the Yu sect?"

Hua Tianshu sighed as he spoke, "It’s in front of us."

"Are you sure?" Jie Fu Lian questioned.

Hua Tianshu didn’t say anything and simply pointed at the broken sign that hung on top of the stone gate that looked as if it was ready to fall down at any given moment now.

The sign was just a piece of paper with ’Yu Sect’ written on it with black ink. If a proper calligrapher had written it, perhaps it wouldn’t look so unpleasing to the eye, however, this sign looked nothing better than a passerby’s careless scribble. Even a Dog could write better than this.

Hua Tianshu, Jie Fu Lian, and Duan Luoyang finally understood why Jin Shifeng had such a displeased reaction towards the mention of her sect.

On one side of the stone gate, there was a red paper lantern hung on top as if welcoming guests while the paper lantern on the other side of the gate had fallen down and made it seem as if these lanterns were simply decorations that had already served their purpose but were forgotten and abandoned.

The stone gate had cracks on it and was tilted. One of the gate pillars seemed as if it had once fallen down and a piece of the stone had shattered into dust before the pillar was fixed back up in a clumsy manner, making one of the pillars look shorter than the other.

"I thought the Yu Sect was supposed to be prosperous..." Jie Fu Lian commented with a heavy tone of sarcasm.

"One must not look at the outward appearance and judge," Hua Tianshu cleared his throat as he spoke, acting as if he had suddenly become a wise old man who knew all secrets of the Dao.

"You still want to go in?" Jie Fu Lian asked with a bit of shock.

Hua Tianshu nodded his head.

There weren’t even any guards stationed at the gate to stop them. Anyone with even half a brain would want to turn around and walk away, sensing the danger that lurked on the other side of this ominous gate.

Hua Tianshu refused to listen to any complaints and walked through the gate.

In the end, Jie Fu Lian and Duan Luoyang helplessly looked at each other before they followed after Hua Tianshu, having no other choice but to do so.

As soon as Jie Fu Lian stepped through the gate, a flying shoe came and landed right on his face.

"..."

As the shoe fell down, Jie Fu Lian asked, "Hua Tianshu, it’s not too late. We can still turn around and run."

Hua Tianshu looked down at the shoe and then back up at Jie Fu Lian’s face which now had a dirty shoe print on it. He wanted to say something but in the end, he stayed silent, not finding the right words to speak.

"Eh? Who goes there?!" A hostile sword attack came aiming at Jie Fu Lian.

Thanks to the flying shoe that had planted itself on his face, Jie Fu Lian was now a little more vigilant and hence, he immediately stopped the sword with his two fingers.

The sword struggled a little before it returned back to its owner who was walking toward them.

"Who are you?" The man who looked to be in his early twenties asked as he cautiously looked at the faces of the three intruders.

Jie Fu Lian smiled as he spoke, "Dear brother, I apologize. It seems that we got the wrong place. We were heading to the Yu Sect. Can you tell us where it is?"

The man looked back at Jie Fu Lian as if he was looking at a madman and spoke, "You don’t have the wrong place. This is the Yu Sect."

Jie Fu Lian took a deep breath in and closed his eyes as he heard this. It seemed that the last trace of hope he held had also vanished. They were really at the famous Yu Sect that not many were allowed to visit.

Jie Fu Lian leaned over to Hua Tianshu and whispered in his ear, "I think I know why Jin Shifeng married Jin Long."

"Hmm?"

"She was probably sold."

"..."

"Jin Long has a lot of money and the Yu Sect looks like it needs a lot of money. It’s a perfect match."

"Makes sense," Hua Tianshu whispered back.

"But if she was sold then why does it look like they still need money? Was Daoist Jin Long stingy?" Duan Luoyang questioned and the man from the Yu Sect who could hear their whispers couldn’t help but get a little annoyed.

"Our values and principles can’t be destroyed with money! Nobody sold off anybody! Piss off!" With this much said, the man arrogantly turned around and walked away.

Jie Fu Lian pursed his lips into a thin line as he commented, "They lack money but they certainly do not lack arrogance. No wonder everyone thinks they are prosperous."

"En," Hua Tianshu agreed.

Duan Luoyang saw that his Shizun and Uncle Fu had no intention of going after the Yu sect disciple who had angrily walked away so he helplessly called out to him as he ran, "Fellow Daoist, wait a minute. We apologize for offending you. I’m from the HuiXue sect and we are here regarding a case. I was hoping you could help us out a little."

The man only slightly turned his head as he glared at Duan Luoyang and in the very next moment, he raised his hand, and with just a flick of his finger, Duan Luoyang flew backward, landing several meters away.

"Their arrogance might not be completely unreasonable," Jie Fu Lian commented, acknowledging the man’s talent.

"En," Hua Tianshu agreed.
