The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 82: How can he hide from me?

After talking to Elder Ren, the three made their way into phoenix mountain where the demonic beasts and monsters lived.

Hua Tianshu looked at Jie Fu Lian and sent a voice transmission directly into his mind, "Do you know where to go?"

Jie Fu Lian smirked as he heard this and winked at Hua Tianshu as he sent a reply, "I am that troublemaker’s owner, how can he hide from me?"

Hua Tianshu nodded his head. He trusted Jie Fu Lian and was willing to follow this confident man who pretended to know where he was going.

"That Elder Ren was suspicious," Duan Luoyang commented as he looked at the mask that Hua Tianshu was holding.

"She was also pretty lazy," Jie Fu Lian added.

Hua Tianshu nodded as he agreed.

"Huh?" Duan Luoyang seemed to be a little confused and looked at Jie Fu Lian as he waited for an explanation.

"Their Sect Master and their inner core disciples were abducted three days ago but till now, she had done nothing but paint to pass time. She talks about the demonic beasts as if they are causing the whole sect anxiety but she herself looks as if she has no worries. She’s either too confident about her own skills and doesn’t care about her sect enough to worry about everyone else or she is simply too lazy to do anything and doesn’t care even if her sect master dies."

Duan Luoyang looked as if he suddenly had a realization and a number of emotions flashed through his face.

"If she doesn’t care about the demonic beasts, why would she send us to defeat them?’ Duan Luoyang asked with a frown, complaining a bit about their situation.

"She probably didn’t want to talk about Jin Shifeng," Jie Fu Lian accurately guessed as he shrugged his shoulders.

"..." Duan Luoyang felt as if he was a fool to have believed her every word.

Jie Fu Lian took the mask from Hua Tianshu’s hands and carelessly examined it as he tried to see if there was anything special about it.

"At least she had enough manners to send something that could help us," Duan Luoyang commented with a sigh.

Jie Fu Lian thinly smiled as he heard this and tossed the mask back to Hua Tianshu as he spoke, "It’s useless."

"Eh?"

"There is no spiritual energy coming from the mask. Even if we were to be in a life or death situation, this mask should be completely useless to us."

"Then why the hell did she give it to us?" Duan Luoyang couldn’t help but raise his voice as he angrily questioned.

"To gain credit perhaps," Jie Fu Lian chuckled as he replied, "If we manage to save their sect master, this mask will prove that she was the one who sent us, and hence, she’ll get the credit for our hard work."

"How selfish..." Duan Luoyang muttered as he shook his head in disbelief, "How can she be an elder?"

"She’s lazy but cunning. Perhaps that is the exact reason why she is an elder," Jie Fu Lian laughed as he spoke.

The three walked for half an hour with Jie Fu Lian leading the way and throughout their journey, they kept themselves busy in conversation. Hua Tianshu would also say a few words every now and then but for the most part of it, he remained silent and only nodded to everything Jie Fu Lian said.

When they reached the cave that was home to the king of demonic beasts, Jie Fu Lian snuck up behind Duan Luoyang and with a swift move, he knocked the man out.

Hua Tianshu didn’t look to be shocked as he saw this turn of events, however, he did frown a bit as he spoke, "It’ll be okay even if he knows your identity."

Since they were about to meet the king of demonic beasts who had a spiritual contract with Jie Fu Lian, his identity would be known to everyone present, and hence, he knocked Duan Luoyang out.

When he heard Hua Tianshu’s words, although he agreed with the man, he couldn’t help but frown as he felt a little unhappy.

"You trust him?" Jie Fu Lian raised his eyebrow as he questioned and Hua Tianshu unhesitantly nodded his head as he confirmed.

As far as Jie Fu Lian knew him, Duan Luoyang was a simple-minded person who didn’t seem to hold any hatred for the cultivator called Jie Fu Lian. In fact, it often seemed as if he had once known the man which made Jie Fu Lian feel that it would be okay even if he were to know his real identity.

However, Jie Fu Lian didn’t like the fact that Hua Tianshu was vouching for him.

"He can be trusted but my secret may put his life in danger," Jie Fu Lian sighed as he spoke, "It’s better if he doesn’t know."

Hua Tianshu nodded his head and simply did not continue the topic.

In the end, whether to let the man know his real identity or not was something that was for Jie Fu Lian to decide and Hua Tianshu would never force the man to do anything he didn’t want to.

Jie Fu Lian dragged Duan Luoyang towards a tree and rested the man’s back on it as Hua Tianshu quickly built a protective barrier around him.

"He should be safe here," Jie Fu Lian confidently commented as he clapped his hands, "Let’s just hope that he doesn’t wake up before we get back."

Hua Tianshu nodded his head as he looked at the unconscious Duan Luoyang sitting on the ground with his back leaning on the tree.

"Let’s go inside," Jie Fu Lian enthusiastically spoke up as he pointed at the mouth of the cave.

"What creature is the king of demonic beasts?" Hua Tianshu asked as he glanced at Jie Fu Lian.

Jie Fu Lian grinned as he replied, "You’ll see."

The two soon entered the cave which had no light inside. They depended on their spiritual powers to guide them through the cave and hence, although they couldn’t see anything, they could certainly sense it.

"Shouldn’t this cave be more guarded?" Hua Tianshu asked, feeling a little confused.

If this was the abode of the king of demonic beasts then it really should have been more guarded, however, so far, they were yet to sense a single demonic beast. Naturally, it was a bit suspicious.

"There should be a door here," Jie Fu Lian sighed as he responded.

"A door?"

Jie Fu Lian nodded his head although he knew Hua Tianshu couldn’t see it, "This cave is only the way to the entry."

The two walked for another five minutes or so till they finally found the door that Jie Fu Lian had mentioned.

As soon as Jie Fu Lian touched it, the door let out a soft glow of white light which illuminated their surrounding.

Now that he could finally see things again, Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but look up in awe. The door was big enough to let an elephant pass through without any problems. It was made of stone and had beautiful decorative motifs carved all over it.

As soon as Hua Tianshu saw the door, he couldn’t help but frown as he asked, "This door was made by demonic beasts...?"

"It’s impressive, isn’t it?" Jie Fu Lian chuckled as he responded.

"The king of demonic beasts can change forms?"

Jie Fu Lian nodded his head as he confirmed it, "Most of the demonic beasts working under him can also do it."

It wasn’t easy for a demonic beast to change forms. In fact, for spiritual beasts, it would only take about ten years to learn how to change forms, however, for demonic beasts, it would take at least a thousand years.

It made sense that the king of demonic beasts could change forms but for his subordinates to also be able to do the same... It was certainly a bit worrisome.

"Jie Ming, if talking doesn’t work, what’s our next plan?"

Jie Fu Lian smiled as he heard this question and spoke, "Do I look like a man who makes backup plans?"

"..."

"In the worst-case scenario, we beat the ones we can and make a run for it," Jie Fu Lian added with a chuckle.

Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but feel as if he should’ve expected this response.

As Jie Fu Lian pushed the stone door open, three demonic beasts greeted him.

All three could change their forms and hence looked like normal human beings.

"Greetings to Cultivator Jie Fu Lian," one of the demonic beasts opened his mouth as he spoke, accurately guessing Jie Fu Lian’s identity.

"It seems that you have been waiting for me," Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but sigh as he commented.

The demonic beast said nothing and simply kept his head lowered in respect.

Jie Fu Lian walked past them and entered the house that belonged to the king of demonic beasts.

Hua Tianshu followed after him and the three demonic beasts that had greeted them closed the door and simply stood there to guard it.

As Hua Tianshu looked around, he couldn’t help but feel a little impressed. Although this was a demonic beast’s dwelling, it looked luxurious and nothing less than a palace made by humans.
