The Devil's Betrothed-Chapter 671: Provoking The Demon
Chapter 671: Provoking The Demon
Oriana wondered if she should tell this Demon that she was going to swear her soul to someone, but she chose to keep quiet. What if, Arlan is about to find her? Telling this Demon about Arlan means alerting him that her husband was not a human but a divine Dragon.
"But I do take those vows in high regard and I consider my husband my everything," Oriana spoke, keeping her calm.
In response, his large hand moved to the other side of her face to fix those loose hair strands as if he was not affected by her words.
Did this Demon look down on humans, their existence and the relationships they had for him to not notice her protest to him and her devotion to her husband? Yes, he sure looked down on entire human realm as if those were nothing but ants he could crush under his feet..
"Black hair suits you the most unlike these red ones," he moved his gaze back to her from her hair, "You need to rest, so soon I can help you regain your memories."
"Did you not hear what I just said?" Frown lines appeared on her forehead, anger evident in her eyes. "I said I have a husband and he is the only one for me."
"You will forget all of that soon. Trust me," he retracted his hand from her chin, "Let me take you...."
"Do not touch me," she shrank her body back.
"You are going to be my demoness. Soon you will submit to me on your own," he said looking into her scared eyes, "You should get used to it."
"No," she exclaimed loudly, gathering every ounce of her energy.
In response to her protest, he raised his head up to look at the rock hung up in the air, "Do you see that sacred artifact from the demon realm?"
"That rock?" she spoke with a disdain, "I wish I could destroy it."
He didn’t mind her words, "But you can’t. That artifact is the evidence of the vows we had taken once by offering our blood, the day you were betrothed to me by your parents. No one can break that vow, none of us."
"I don’t care," she shouted, "Let me go. I don’t give a damn about that vow from the past. I don’t care."
He turned to her calmly, "You will care, once you regain your memories. You will know how happy you were to be able to marry me, how much we both wanted it. How deeply we loved each other."
"You are lying."
"You will know once you remember our past."
His words scared Oriana, making her wonder why this demon was so confident. Did she really fall for this demon in the past? Would it change things for her if she regained her memories?
’No, I don’t want to remember. All I know, I want Arlan and no one else.’
"Do not bother. Nothing would change," she tried to act firm but inside she was scared, scared to think she would change after she reimagined her memories.
She would feel utterly sad for Arlan if what this demon said was the truth. She could never imagine herself falling for someone else.
"I will give you some time to adapt to the new situation you are in," he spoke, not showing even a tinge of anger towards her behavior, making her more frustrated. "You need to rest. The journey between two realms must be exhausting."
Before his hands could reach to lift her, she pushed them away, "Just send me back."
"That is not going to happen. You belong to the Demon realm, you are the Demoness and Princess of this realm. Your place is here, right next to me." He proceeded to lift her but she growled, "If you touch me, I will chop those hands of yours."
Just then, she felt the shift of demonic aura around him, as he stared at her wordlessly, his dark irises turning more intimidating than before.
Oriana gulped and found herself unable to say a word. ’What is wrong with me? Why can’t I protest him strongly? Why am I scared of him? Is it because I am weak at this moment?’
The next moment she was lifted in the pair of strong arms, making her feel helpless as well as repulsive. The loud footsteps echoed in the throne hall as he walked with her in his arms as if she weighed nothing at all.
Crossing the huge door of the throne hall and entering the large corridor, he continued to walk with her without showing any changes in his expressions, making her wonder what was going on in his mind. Soon he stooped in front of the huge dark wooden door which opened on its own.
"W-Where are you taking me?" Oriana felt the chill the moment she felt they were entering the bed chamber, making her wonder if this demon was going to do something indecent with her.
In response, he put her on the bed. Oriana shrank away from him, crawling to the other end of the bed, "Stay away from me."
He stood unaffected in his place, simply watching her, waiting for her to be calm.
"Rest. I won’t do anything to you before we take sacred demonic vows and I mark you," he spoke firmly, "Tomorrow I will mark you in the throne hall in front of other demons and then you will be mine."
Oriana’s heart skipped a beat at what he said. He was going to mark her? Won’t that mean she would be tied to him forever?
"No. I don’t want to be marked by you. I don’t want to be your demoness," she protested loudly.
"Rest," he turned to leave, not giving any attention to her rejection.
"Who do you think you are to dictate to me what to do," she shouted, anger brewing inside her, her gaze piercing his back like a dagger.
As she watched him, she felt a shift in his darkness once more, a sign that she had angered him. Oriana gulped, not knowing what he would do to her now and felt it was better to keep her mouth shut.
"I think I shall not wait to mark you tomorrow," he turned to look at her and the door of the chamber closed with a loud slam, "We shall finish it today. I have waited for you enough."
Oriana realized she had just made the biggest mistake of her life by provoking him. What shall she do, her mind tried to race. She tried to summon her powers, but felt weak to do so as if her powers had left her body.
’What the hell. My powers are ditching me on time.’
He took a step towards the bed.
"No you can’t," she tried to get out of the bed, but a certain power surrounded her, making her unable to move. ’What the hell?’
"Stay away from me," she growled at him, but he already proceeded to climb the bed, his gaze stuck on her beautiful face, moved to her slender neck where he was going to mark her.
