The Devil's Betrothed-Chapter 673: Challenging A Demon
Chapter 673: Challenging A Demon
"You should not lie at this moment, as it won’t stop me from making you my demoness."
"I am not lying...."
"All three realms know He can’t have a mate, and even if he did, it would only be a Princess of Heaven realm Evanthe and not the princess of the Demon realm," he spoke.
’Huh?’ Oriana looked at him in confusion. "Who are you talking about?"
"The lord of darkness, a Devil, the only Dragon in existence," he replied. Now Oriana understood that these demons confined inside this demon realm had no idea what was happening outside the demon realm.
"I am not talking about the Devil. I am talking about other Dragons who are residing in the mortal realm."
"Dragons?" His expression turned serious as if he wanted to know more.
"If you want to know, first release me and let’s have a peaceful talk."
He observed her face closely, her eyes determined and clear that she was not lying.
Once he created a little space between them but did not release her from his powers, she spoke, "I am not lying when I said I am the Dragon’s mate and he would come for me here. If you mark me, I am not sure what he would do to this Demon realm."
He quietly gazed at her, not reacting to what she said.
Oriana sighed inwardly and spoke, "He is not alone; he has two more divine Dragons as his friends and he would bring them as well. If you don’t believe me, go ask that witch you used to contact in the human realm. Zaria, she is my master, and she will tell you I am telling the truth. My mate is a gold Dragon while his friends are Black and Red Dragons. They all possess the power of absolute Darkness from Him, the Devil. The red Dragon is the Devil’s son himself."
She finally stopped, not knowing what else to say, and waited for him to say something like he wouldn’t mark her or covet a Dragon’s mate.
"Hmm, so you are a Dragon’s mate?" he finally spoke.
Oriana wanted to nod her head again and again but could not. ’So, he finally registered the seriousness of the matter, huh? I am truly smart.’
"I never thought I would mark a Dragon’s mate and make her mine. Those divine beings always acted all high and mighty; what would be more hurtful for them if I mark you?"
"Wait! What?" Oriana exclaimed in disbelief.
"Let’s welcome them together if they manage to enter the demon realm," he said and moved closer to her, looking more determined than before.
’What the hell?’ she cursed inside. ’I am doomed.’
He resumed his previous position closer to her, his one hand moving to the back of her head while the other moved hair strands away, leaving nothing that could obstruct the view of her delicate skin and that pulsating blood vessel on her neck, which was tempting him to taste her delicious blood right then and there.
His finger traced that blood vessel, feeling the gush of flowing blood.
"I warn you...."
Her words were stuck in her throat the moment she felt his lips against the skin of her neck, parting lightly....
"No." She shouted with all her might, tears appearing in her eyes, ready to flow down. In just a split second, she felt her entire world was ready to be destroyed.
"My Lord." There was a knock on the door, and a man’s voice reached inside the room.
The demon, who was about to pierce his canines into her skin, halted and looked at the closed door, his deep heavy voice echoing in the room. "What is it?"
"My Lord, we have sensed an intrusion against the protective barrier. It seems like some outer force has entered the demon realm."
He moved his head back and looked at Oriana, whose eyes were teary. "Seems like that Dragon is here."
She felt relieved to hear it and said, "Are you scared?"
He raised a brow, as if warning her not to provoke him.
She didn’t back down. "If you are a true demon, why don’t you fight him and win me over? If you defeat him, I give you my word that I would be yours willingly."
Though at a losing end, her resolve and determination to hold on to even the tiniest hope didn’t falter. This is how she had been living all her life, not giving up till the last moment even if the entire world could be against her.
"Rather, would you want to see him dead?" he asked and released her from his hold. "If that is what you want. First, I will mark you in front of him. It would be painful enough for him to die. Even if he survives, my sword will take care of it. We do not have any Dragon skin in the demon realm. It would be great to have one, especially a gold one. We will use it as a rug on the floor of our chamber, and even our kids would play on it."
"Sure," she didn’t wish to provoke him. If she did, she was sure he would mark her right away. "First defeat him, and then we will do as you say."
"Very well," he stood up, a demon’s pride and capability was challenged. He released her from the hold of his powers and only then she felt like she could breathe.
"Rest. Do not try to run away as you can go nowhere," he said and walked towards the door.
Outside two demons were standing. "Xyron, stay here and try to recover her memories. You know what to do."
"Yes, my Lord," Xyron bowed as he saw a woman sitting on the bed. He knew who she was, her appearance was still the same.
"Take me there," the Lord instructed the other demon and left with him.
Xyron walked inside the chamber only to see Oriana glaring at him as if she could not wait to kill him.
