Chapter 260: Something So Foolish.

Loki simply doesn’t have enough energy in his body to fuel this immense project, and he doesn’t have energy stones to make up for the deficit in his body. He is dirt poor right now.

Fortunately, he has access to a seemingly inexhaustible source of energy that he can use as much as he wants. He is siphoning from that ocean of energy at a speed that is directly equal to his regeneration rate, which is a lot.

Another thing that these many tentacles require is a lot of mental power to control. After all, each tentacle is the equivalent of a rank 5 weapon.

As it is, he doesn’t have that much mental power to control the tentacles right now. But he also doesn’t plan to control the tentacles.

What he wants to do is to convert his armor into a large thorn plant that will fill up the room. As for the fact that he can’t control this large thorn plant to make targeted attacks at specific individuals, he doesn’t care much.

He would have needed to care about not being able to control the tentacles if he didn’t have infinite energy. Since he doesn’t have to care about the wastage of energy, he doesn’t need to be able to control each tentacle.

All of these gave him confidence in his plan. But it made Muni, Slav, and everyone else in the room very afraid.

Slav was the one who could tell just how terrifying what Loki was doing was. He knew that Loki’s seemingly random action was actually creating an inescapable net for him. He also knew that, for some reason, he was losing a lot of energy every moment.

The last thing didn’t make sense to him on its own. But when he combined the fact that Loki shouldn’t be able to have the energy to build all of these, he realized that he might be providing the energy to create his own deathbed.

This terrified him to the core. But he didn’t show it.

He said to Loki, "Why are you doing this? What do you want?"

Loki rolled his eyes and said, "Gee, why would I be targeting someone who possesses a Divine Metac? Why in the world would I possibly do something so foolish?"

His act of rolling his eyes couldn’t be seen, though. This was because his armor was blocking all of his facial expressions.

But Slav got that he was being sarcastic from the tone of his voice. However, Slav didn’t think this was a joking matter.

Slav said in a serious tone, "It is indeed foolish for you to covet a Divine Metac when you’re not even a rank 5 being. Even divine beings find it hard to hold on to their Divine Metacs, much less a mortal like you."

"So I believe that it is a better idea for you to ask for something else. Go on. Tell me something else that I can do for you. I will fulfil all of your requests up to telling you how to become a divine being and eve rendering some help towards accomplishing this."

Loki sneered as he said, "Here is a question I have for you. Why do you have infinite energy, and is it really infinite? Or is it that you regenerate it faster than you can use it, making it seem infinite?"

Slav didn’t reply. This was because he didn’t need to. Loki’s questions have made it clear that there is no deal to be had here.

It was clear that Loki wasn’t taking his offer seriously at all. So Slav began considering his options to escape. He looked at the walls and began contemplating whether he had enough power to cut through them and escape.

But Loki didn’t give him the chance to get to work on the walls. When Loki saw Slav glance at the walls, he hurriedly produced his two Gatling guns, which he let loose on Slav.

Slav had to disappear to avoid the hail of bullets. But whenever he appeared somewhere else, the Gatling guns would swivel to his new position and rain down bullets on him.

This forced him to change his position constantly. So he couldn’t focus on the wall to cut them open. This way, he had nowhere to escape to.

For now, he was safe and could constantly avoid the gunfire. But the space to teleport to in the room was shrinking every moment. So very soon, he would have nowhere to teleport to and would either be shot to death or skewered by thorny tentacles.

Slav’s sorry fate is for the future, but everyone’s sorry fate came much earlier. Slav could avoid the gunfire, but Muni, who he was hiding behind, couldn’t avoid the first volley of gunfire.

Muni is a rank 3 cultivator with a rank 3 Life Ability, Level 2 Dao Status, and nothing else. He had nothing else because he had sold off all of his Metacs to afford the increase to his talent. This made him too weak to withstand the barrage of bullets that struck him.

He didn’t even have a chance to resist. He was shot through into a sieve, and blood with his liquified organs came pouring out of the holes onto the ground.

Muni’s case was just one of many. Since a rank 3 cultivator couldn’t preserve their lives in the midst of Loki’s wanton gunfire, none of the initiates could possibly hope to survive it.

The initiates began to panic, so they began to scream, and they ran around as they screamed. All of these created a lot of distractions and obstacles for Slav.

In their bid to avoid the thorns, the initiates had to take up the little available space in the room. This constrained Slav and made it more and more difficult for him to dodge Loki’s gunfire, so he began killing the initiates to create space for himself.

But this could only work for a short while, and even their dead bodies were also occupying space.
