The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 361: NO I HATE BUGS...Anyway, moving on
"Kai, do something!"
"I can’t!"
"You’re the only one strong enough!"
"I-I can’t! It’s too strong! Too powerful!"
"You’re literally stronger than it, stop being such a scaredy cat!"
"B-But it’s a giant cockroach! How am I supposed to fight against that!" Even after becoming a demigod, Kai’s fear of bugs and critters didn’t go away.
"Just flick it or something!"
Kai gathered all the confidence he had and flicked the giant cockroach to death, splattering its blood and guts all over the place.
"Eughh! Gross! I’m gonna..BLEUGHHHHHH!!!!"
Horisia was in shock. This was the guy who her goddess said was the son of the supreme god of the universe, and he was throwing up because of a bug.
"Is he always like this?" Sekmala wondered
"No. He just has a fear of bugs and critters." Nadya explained
"N-No, I don’t! I’m not scared of them; they just creep me out and I’d rather not see them at all."
"Yeah, he’s scared of them." Nadya doubled down.
"I can see the entrance to the next room! It’s right there, let’s hurry!" Osiren didn’t wait for anyone and ran ahead.
After telling everyone about the illusion, a prerecorded message of Rauna played for everyone to hear. It congratulated them for passing the first trial out of three and directed them to the path of the next trial.
Along their way to the next trial, they were attacked by multiple bugs, which creeped Kai out to the core.
Now, they were right in front of the entrance to the second test.
"Another orb on a pillar like this one." Osiren quickly ran up to the orb, grabbing it. still holding the other one in his hand.
After removing the orb from the pillar, they merged together, but didn’t increase in size.
"Wait, Osiren! This is a trial room, there’s bound to be traps!" Sekmala warned, but it was too late.
The walls started closing in, and everyone panicked, except Kai. He was chilling...as best as he could.
"This is why you think before you act!" Horisia shifted her feet, merging them with the ground, then attempted to stop the wall from crushing them.
"S-Sorry! Let me help!" Osiren did the same except on the opposite wall.
Sekmala, Nadya, and Sasha did the same. All of them could use their magic, but it was weaker because of Rauna’s power. These trials were meant to test them, so they also limited their power.
"Kai, help us!"
"Sure." He just destroyed the walls, and then a congratulatory speech from Rauna played.
"Seriously?" Nayda pouted.
"What? I’m still overcoming my trauma."
"Uhn-huh."
After receiving the second orb, they were shown the way to the final room where the last orb would be.
Thankfully, there were no bugs to fuck with Kai, and all of them were able to make it to the final room without any problems, besides some traps going off, but that was normal.
"Here it is, everyone. The final orb!" Osiren was elated. He wasn’t a power-hungry man, but he respected his parents, siblings, people, and everyone who died to protect his home. He was going to do eveything he could to honor them and reclaim the land.
When they stepped into the room, a barrier appeared around the orb, preventing them from accessing it.
"The final test." Horisia gulped.
Rauna’s voice boomed into their ears. "I am the beginning of the end, and the end of time. I present myself at night; my size is undefined. I surround everything past you, just look past the sky. What am I?"
"A riddle." Osiren scowled.
"And a hard one at that." Sekmala started writing the riddle in the ground.
"I’m not good at riddles," Sasha admitted.
"Hmm. I’ve heard a riddle like this before, and the answer to that was the letter E, but this is different." Nadya went full thinker mode.
Horisia tried her best to see if there were any clues she could find out about by using divine energy.
"Space," Kai said casually.
"What?" Everyone asked, confused by what he said.
"Space. That’s the answer. The beginning and end of everything is space. At night, when we look up at the sky, we’re looking into space. Space is infinite. Everything around us is an open space. And past the sky is...well...space. So the answer is space."
To everyone’s surprise, Kai’s answer was correct, and the barrier around the orb vanished.
Osiren quickly took the orb, and a congratulatory message from Rauna played. "We did it! We actually did it!"
Horisia and Sekmala hugged, knowing that they were one step closer to their goal.
"Do you feel that?" Nadya asked
"An earthquake?" Sasha wondered.
"Nah, all the sand is pouring back into the hole you created, Sasha," Kai explained, being all casual about it.
Nadya panicked. "Shit! We need to get out of here, Kai!"
"All aboard, everyone. Your train is about to leave the station." Everyone grabbed onto Kai, and he teleported them out of there.
He was hoping they would try to run out of the temple and look really cool when they barely escaped, but they didn’t share the same sentiment.
"Boss! Are you okay?" Ninjas, well, resistance scouts, appeared next to everyone, wondering if they were alright.
"We’re fine." Sekmala nodded. "Thank you for worrying about us. Has anything out of the ordinary happened while we were in the temple?"
"Yes. Apparently, someone attacked the castle and beat up Flexom!" One scout shouted in disbelief.
"However, the demon queen killed him before he could do so." Another one added.
"The fuck? That bitch didn’t kill me. I outta teach her a lesson next time I see her!"
Everyone turned to Kai, wondering what he was talking about, except Nadya and Sasha.
"Y-You attacked Flexom?" Sekmala asked in disbelief.
"Didn’t I say I was going to at the meeting?"
"No! You said you were going to see how strong he was!"
"And I did. I beat the guy up. He wasn’t that special. However, he wasn’t going all out." Kai didn’t remember him using progenitor decay.
"You could have killed him!" Osiren exclaimed. "Why didn’t you?!"
Kai gave the prince an annoyed look. "Why would I?"
