The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 362: Are you narrating?
"Why would you? Those two are terrorizing our land, killing our people, stripping families apart, and you have the opportunity to take Flexom! I can understand if you couldn’t handle the Demon Queen, but Flexom, that bastard! You should have killed him!"
It wasn’t Osiren’s anger speaking, but his grief. Hearing that the murderer of his family could have been taken care of with ease rubbed him the wrong way.
"Osiris, my man." Kai patted the prince on the back.
"It’s Osiren."
"Listen to me. Killing Flaxem isn’t my job; it’s yours. It’s not my place to avenge your family. I have no connection to you. Going to these temples, gaining this power: it’s all to beat that bastard, avenge your family, and claim the throne. I won’t get in the way of your destiny."
Osiren didn’t know what to say. He understood where Kai was coming from and knew that he was right. He unleashed his insecurities on him as Osiren was not strong enough to handle Flexom. However, after hearing Kai’s speech, Osiren’s confidence and morale skyrocketed.
---
"Osiren’s confidence and morale skyrocketed," Leo said in the void room.
"Are you narrating our son’s life?" Cassie asked, looking at Leo like a weirdo.
"W-What? No! Go away!"
---
"Thank you, Kai. I’m sorry for how I acted before. I promise not to let my emotions get the best of me again." He bowed to the demigod
Kai patted the prince on the shoulder. "Good, good. Now make your family proud."
’Good job, babe.’ Nadya said in his mind.
When Osiren questioned Kai, it slightly irritated him, and he was about to...unalive the guy. But Nadya told him not to.
’Sure.’
"Now that you have these orbs, see if you can absorb their power," Horisia said to Osiren.
"Right." Osiren focused his chi into the orb, feeling the energy, then he allowed that energy to flow inside him, strengthening his body greatly.
The power he was granted wasn’t going to make him a hero, but it would make him significantly more powerful than he already was. However, this was only one out of four powers that he would obtain, meaning he would be vastly stronger once he claimed all of them.
It took thirty minutes for Osiren to absorb all the power from the orb, and once the power was all absorbed, the orb cracked, then turned into particles, flowing into his body.
"How do you feel?" Sekmala asked
"I feel...stronger," Osiren exclaimed, clenching his fists, feeling the power inside him.
"No fucking shit, dude. Now, tell us if you feel some major change or something. Bro saying that he feels stronger, as if we didn’t know that. Fucking dumbass." Kai rolled his eyes.
"S-Sorry. But I don’t feel as if any change occurred in me. It simply feels like my sea or chi increased." He explained
"Sea of chi?" Sasha had no idea what he was talking about.
"The area in his body where chi, or mana, is concentrated the most." Kai was familiar with the term and explained it to Sasha.
"Oh. Man, I’m still getting used to these other cultures."
Sekmala wondered what the sea of chi was called where Sasha was from, so she asked her.
"We call it a Mana center. Mana being what we call chi."
"Fascinating." Sekmala wanted to visit these other lands if she had the chance. But for now, she needed to focus on saving her home. "Okay, now that we’re done here, let’s go back to the base. We need to inform everyone that things are going as planned."
---
Back at the resistance base, the atmosphere was very dark and grim. People were in shock, crying, injured, and didn’t look their best. There was panic in the air as many people were running around the base to inform others about the reason why everyone was so gloomy.
"What happened here?" One moment, everyone was pretty chill, then when Kai came back, they were all going crazy.
"Commander! Commander!" A young man ran up to Sekmala and bowed.
"What is it? Speak!"
"It’s Lower Sagebrook! It’s been taken over!" There was a panic in his voice that sent the others, minus Kai and his girls, into a small panic.
"Explain everything! When did this happen? What are the conditions of our people stationed there?" Sekmala went into full leader mode as she walked with the man to learn everything that transpired when she was away.
"What the hell is a Lower Sagebrook?" Kai asked
"It’s the name of a major town here in the eastern part of the kingdom. The whole town is simply called Sagebrook, but it was split into two. The upper part is occupied by Flexom’s people." Horisia explained as they all walked behind Sekmala.
"We managed to occupy the lower part, making it a safe haven for people who want to go against the new leadership, but from the sounds of things, it seems like the lower part was taken over as well."
Osiren clenched his fists, thinking about how powerless he was. But Kai rested his hand on the man’s shoulder.
"Osiren, I know you feel powerless. But don’t worry."
"Thank you."
"You are powerless. Weak as fuck. So instead of crying that you can’t help them, do something about it. Powerless people stay powerless. Real men will always do whatever they can, no matter the challenges or consequences. So stop bitching."
That was not the pep talk Osiren was looking for, but it worked nonetheless.
"Kai, you’re back!" Gwen, Amaya, Kyana, and Karumi run over to Kai, giving him a hug.
"Yup, just got back a few minutes ago. How was everything here?"
"Horrible. These people just came back from getting absolutely destroyed in a battle. Setton was waiting for you all to return before launching a counterattack." Kyana felt bad for these people since they had already lost their home.
Sekmala walked over to Kai, desperation on her face as she pulled him to the side.
"C-Can I ask for your help?"
"That’s why I’m here."
She nodded. "Can you go to Lower Sagebrook? We still have people there, and they need our help, but we don’t have the manpower to send aid right now."
"Sure. I’ll take care of it." He turned around. "Girls, let’s go!"
