Chapter 363: Lower Sagebrook

"Damn. This place was leveled to the ground."

It took them a little bit to find where Sagebrook was since they didn’t ask for directions, but thanks to Kai’s trusty map on his status window, a feature that he forgot existed, they were able to find it with ease.

"Are those demons?" Karumi wondered as she looked down from the sky.

Gwen nodded. "Seems like it. We already know that Flexom is working with the demon queen, so demons being with his forces makes sense."

They all landed inside the slightly burning town, hearing the screams and cries of the people who were suffering at the hands of Flexom’s men and the demons.

It was a very horrible sight, and although it didn’t faze the group, it still rubbed them the wrong way.

"Man. I thought I didn’t really care what happened to others, but this is horrible." Kai swiped his hand, and all of the fire was extinguished.

"Go around and save as many people as you can. Make sure to inform people that we are part of the resistance so that the remaining resistance members here can aid, and so the people know that we’re here for them." Kai would use this opportunity to bolster the name of the resistance and the Prince, so people can still have hope.

"Got it!" All of them leaped in different directions to help whoever they could.

"Ohh? What do we have here? Fresh meet boys." Two demons and two men, an elf and a human, walked over to Kai.

"You must be the resistance reinforcements. The boss is going to be really happy when he learns that we’ve gotten rid of all these resistance flies."

Kai interrupted his eventual enemies. "Hold on, I’m sorry, but what the fuck are you? Like, you don’t even look like a demon. You look more like a...a bug. Ugh, I hate bugs."

The person Kai was talking to was a demon with bug eyes, an exoskeleton, an ant-like mouth with mandibles, and fly wings on his back.

"Hahahaha! I got it! You look like that one big from Solo—"

"How dare you insult my handsome appearance! Do you want to die, mortal?!" The bug demon had four fingers, and they extended into claws as his wings started flapping really fast, but he didn’t start flying.

"You think you’re handsome? Who told you that?"

"My mother!"

"Oof. Well, good parents tend to lie to their children so they can feel loved and cared for. Your mom, unless she looks as ugly as you, most likely lied to your face."

"That’s it!" The bug demon flew toward Kai with his claws stretched out. They ignited with a dark blue energy, ready to rip him to shreds.

Kai frowned. He wasn’t going to allow himself to get attacked by a demon bug person. So, he created a large fly swatter and swatted the demon bug onto the ground, crushing his body to mush.

"I need to start walking with bug spray."

"What the fuck just happened?" The others started backing away after seeing their friend get one-shotted like a little bitch.

"I didn’t know the resistance would send people this strong!"

Kai smirked. "Do your worst, pussies."

The three of them got into a fighting position. "On three! One...Two...Three...RUN!"

"What?! Really? That’s something I would do! Why are you running away?!" Now Kai understood how his enemies felt when he would run away for jokes and giggles.

"Ahh, whatever. I’m just going to go around saving hot chicks that I’ll bang later." Without looking, Kai swiped his hand, severing the heads of the three men. ’

"I’ll eat your fucking heart!" Amaya stabbed her hand through a demon’s chest, jumping onto the body of a Wolfkin and biting the man’s neck off. Spitting out his throat, she lunged at another person, an elf this time, and gouged out his eyes before snapping his neck

"WHO’S FUCKING NEXT?!" Before she could even see, a human woman punched Amaya in the face with intense speed and force, but thanks to her body’s muscle memory, her arm swung forward, striking the woman in the face as she got knocked back, knocking the woman back as well.

"Gahhh! My face!" The woman cried out.

"Hahaha! You must be pretty strong in order to land a hit on me and actually move me off my feet." Amaya licked her lips, loving the new challenger that came her way.

"You’re a maniac!"

"No, I’m Amaya!" She kicked off the sand, blasting her way toward the woman with a kick.

The woman blocked, her arm breaking in the process, and was knocked into the burned buildings.

"I’m not through with you!" Amaya ran toward the woman on all fours and lunged to bite off her face, but then a man shoulder charged her out of the way.

"Are you okay, Karlalan?" The dwarf asked

"I-I’m good, dreg." Karlalan stood up, and glyphs appeared on her arm, healing it. "Where’s Scope?"

"He’s taking cover. He has our back." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

She nodded, then prepared to fight Amaya again.

Getting out of some rubble, Amaya stood up, cracking her neck as she looked at the dwarf who had attacked her.

"You’re pretty strong as well. I hope you aren’t a disappointment!"

"Is she made out of metal or something? She’s not even injured." Dreg spun his axe and equipped his shield.

"Even if she’s strong, she isn’t invincible. We can still take her."

A/N: [TITLE CARD]

Dreg agreed.

"I like your confidence. It will be more satisfying when I RIP IT FROM YOUR DEAD BODIES!" Amaya moved as fast as lightning, appearing right in front of Karlalan.

Dreg already planned on stepping in front of her to defend, but he didn’t think he would be defending so soon. He quickly put all of his power into his shield to block Amaya’s punch, but the strong, reinforced, mana-strengthened metal shield shattered against her fists, and he was blown back from the impact.

"Weak bitch!"

"Dreg!" Karlalan attacked Amaya with a hidden dagger, but Amaya ducked out of the way, pulled out her sword, and cut off the woman’s arm.

"Arghhhh!"

"Shut up!" She kicked Karlalan into some rubble. Then, in her blind spot, an arrow wisped through the air; however, her cat-like senses kicked in, and she sliced it in half.

"HAAAAAAA!" Dreg came back with a fury, slamming his axe onto the ground as he attempted to cut Amaya in half.

"You’re not as strong as I thought you would be." She cut the handle of the axe off, punched Dreg away, kicked his axe into her hand, then threw it at his head, splitting it open.

Right as she threw the axe, an arrow flew at her head again, but this time, Amaya caught it, tracked where the archer was, then threw the arrow into his eye, killing him as well.

"Y-You! You’ll pay for killing my fr-ARGUHHHH" Karlalan looked down at her chest, seeing a sword lodged in it.

"You talk a lot for a dead woman." Removing her sword, Amaya quickly cut Karlalan into multiple pieces, then walked away.
