The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 427: New Request
"Wow, these fruits are different from the ones I’m used to. It’s so weird seeing a fruit that shoots a frosty sensation in your mouth." Kai was eating a fruit that looked like a pear but was something totally different.
It had blueish-white skin, and it was a bit cold to the touch. However, the fruit was bursting with flavor, and he made sure to buy a good bit to send to his family back in Sarkylla.
"Thank you for your purchase, young man." The vendor bowed
"No problem. Take care."
As he continued to walk around, Kai made his way to an armory. One thing he noticed was that every set of armor in this kingdom was equipped with some type of fur and insulation to keep the wearers warm.
It made sense because this was a kingdom covered in ice, snow, and it was very cold. Just like in Astalith, people there didn’t wear bulky armor or anything like that because of the heat.
"What do you need, kid?"
"How much to buy everything you have in stock?" Kai asked
"Pwahahahahaha! Kid, you’d need a minimum of 50 gold coins to buy everything I have in—"
Kai placed a bag of 100 gold coins on the table.
"Take anything you want." The man said, grabbing the bag of coins.
With a smile, Kai sent everything into his inventory and then left the armory. As he was leaving, the man stepped outside and closed down his shop for the day.
"Why did you buy everything there?" Karumi wondered
"Because it looked cool. I always grab souvenirs from my adventures. Besides, the others at home will love this type of stuff."
Kai went to a magic shop and did the same thing there. The woman was more than happy to sell everything she had for 100 gold coins. She had never seen so much money in her life before and was eager to get her hands on it.
"Kassandra will love this staff." Kai smiled.
"Don’t know if you caught this, but we’re being followed."
"I know. I knew from the very beginning." Kai could sense that whoever was following him didn’t have any intentions of harming him, at least not in public like this.
Even if they wanted to, they couldn’t since he was infinitely stronger than whoever was stalking him.
"Hahaha. There it is, my best friend!" Kai was getting excited.
"What are you talking about?"
"I don’t remember if you were here for this or not, but I LOVE adventuring."
Karumi understood where he was going. "Yeah, Gwen and Kyana told me about your obsession with starting at the very bottom of the ranks even though you could easily be at the top."
Kai had no reason to deny that. "Very true, however, that doesn’t matter now because my Hunter, Adventurer, and Mercenary ranks are all at the highest tier. It’s unfortunate, but it’s whatever.
Kai continued forward and walked inside the Adventurer’s Guild.
"Oh my gosh! Karumi, do you feel it? Do you feel everything coming back to us? Our roots, where it all began? God, it feels amazing!" Kai missed this feeling so much. He missed adventure, killing monsters, and fucking women who allowed him to join their party.
’Technically, you started at the Hunter’s Guild.’ Leo reminded him.
’I didn’t ask you to join it, you fossil.’
’Fossil?! D-Dammit, that hurt.’ Leo went away.
"Huh? Who is that guy?" Someone asked as they looked at Kai
"He’s sexy."
"Ha, what’s a kid doing here?"
"Hey, kid, you lost?"
"Wanna spend a night with me, sugar? I don’t bite."
Kai smiled, taking everything in. The rudeness, the flirting, the stares, all of it. He missed this setting.
"Hahahahahaha! Fuck you, girls! You aren’t here with me, so you can’t stop me from doing whatever I want! You all staying in Sarkylla was the best thing that happened to me!" Kai pushed past everyone who was in his way and ran over to the receptionist.
"Hi! Here’s my adventurer’s license! I want you to rest it so I can start at the very bottom!" Kai’s face beamed with excitement.
The receptionist, on the other hand, looked confused. "U-Um, sir, I’m sorry, but we’re not allowed to... rest Adventurer licenses, especially someone of your caliber."
Kai’s whole world was shattered. He fell to his knees, his hands falling onto the ground.
"No, it can’t be! No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
’Just hypnotize her, stupid.’
’That’s not the same, Leo! This isn’t like when I’m getting a girl! This is adventuring we’re talking about! Hypnotizing her is akin to using cheats in a game to reset your levels. No! You just play New Game Plus on the hardest difficulty...unless it’s one of those Souls games that don’t have difficulty levels and simply get harder each NG+. Fuck, they’re hard.’
’I guess I see your point.’
’Yeah, now shoo, leave me alone.’
’Damn, okay.’
"Um, sir, I can give you a request that no one else has taken on because of the difficulty, if you would like that?" The receptionist asked.
"Fine, I’ll do it. What’s the request?" Kai got up, wiping his tears from his face.
"There’s a Yeti in the mountains that is causing trouble, but this isn’t just any yeti, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime yeti, the King Yeti!"
Kai wasn’t impressed. "Okay, I’ll take the request." He grabbed the sheet of paper, then left the guild.
"Is that kid crazy?!"
"The king yeti? He’s dead."
"That’s an S-Rank Party Quest! Not a solo quest!"
"Do you want to kill that guy or something? Was he your ex who cheated on you?"
Everyone was wondering why the receptionist gave Kai a request like that.
"I know it may look like that, but that guy is very strong. He’s a primal hunter who is in the Red zone and has killed all ten primal beasts. He’s an S-Rank adventurer, solo and party, and he’s a Diamond-ranked Mercenary, solo and party. He’s not someone any of us could handle."
The guild became quiet. Never would they have expected someone who looked so young to be so strong.
"And here I was thinking about picking on him." One man said, wiping sweat off his forehead.
