The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 438: Assassins are good to learn from
It was a baking competition. That’s right. The lesson that Charlotte was looking forward to was a baking competition. It was very...interesting. Kai did enjoy cooking, so he was down to do some baking.
Of course, he and Charlotte came first. There was no way he was going to enter a baking competition and not show out.
The rules stated that the student, Charlotte, needed to guide their attendant on what to do. The thing was that Charlotte didn’t know how to cook or what to cook. So Kai connected their minds and told her what to do.
Following his commands, she acted as if she was telling him what to do when in reality it was the opposite.
Since this was a competition, Kai decided to make a full-course meal!
He prepared a dish this world had never seen before, mac and cheese.
Everyone was wondering what Charlotte was doing, but she ignored them and continued to follow Kai’s instructions. Once the mac was done, they baked something else that was top-tier, lasagna.
For their desserts, Kai baked an apple and a pumpkin pie. Finally, he topped it off with some sparkling juice.
It was safe to say that they came first in the competition, and everyone was going crazy for their food.
When they walked outside to leave the institute, people started coming up to them.
"Kai, right? How about you work under my family? With your strength and cooking skills, we will pay you handsomely." A noble offered him.
"No, don’t listen to him. He’s just the son of a viscount. Join my family, a count family. We will give you what you want!"
"No! Join mine!"
"Mine!"
"Marry me!"
Nobles piled around him, begging him to join their families, but he declined all of them. He was a loyal guy...sort of.
"Sorry, but there’s nothing you guys can offer me that will make me follow you. So leave me alone." Kai turned to leave with Charlotte.
In front of him was a woman with red hair and a smirk on her face. Behind her was a man as tall as Kai with a large sword on his back, and he had a serious expression on his face.
"Hello. It is finally nice to meet you, Kai." The woman extended her hand.
Charlotte shook it instead. "Ranala, right? Nice to meet you as well."
Ranala’s face was slightly contorted when Charlotte took her hand, as she didn’t like the fact that Charlotte interfered with her speaking with Kai.
"I wasn’t speaking to you. I was speaking to your attendant. Kai, you said there was nothing these people could offer you, but what if I could offer you something? I’m from a ducal family, so there are things I can do that they can’t."
"Yeah, and using the power and influence of your father is something all of you have in common." Kai laughed.
In all honesty, Kai didn’t see a problem with that. He was all for people using their parents’ influence. Why wouldn’t they? But when it came to poking jabs at people, all you need to mention is how they actually DON’T have power, and they shut up.
"Are you ready to go, Lady Charlotte?"
She smiled. "I am."
She walked past both of them, but when Kai did the same, the attendant stopped him.
"Excuse me, sir. Your arm is in my way, do you mind removing it?" Kai asked politely.
"You were disrespectful to Lady Ranala. Apologize." He demanded
"Look, I’m gonna be honest, okay. I’m trying to play a role here, and you’re really pushing my buttons right now. Move, or I’ll erase you from existence." Kai demanded
"Touch him, and the Nord family will face the consequences." Ranala smiled.
Charlotte staggered, and when Ranala saw this, she started speaking again.
"Now, why don’t we continue where we—"
Kai killed her attendant in front of everyone, his blood splattering on Ranala’s face.
"Oh no, my hand slipped. Karumi, do you have her scent?"
"Yup."
"Make sure that this ducal family is no more by the end of the day."
"On it." Karumi turned into her nine-tailed fox form, then took off toward Ranala’s house.
"I wonder what’s for dinner today." Kai grabbed Charlotte and went inside the carriage with her, telling the coachman to leave.
Everyone was in shock after hearing Karumi speak, but they were in more shock after he told her to kill Ranala’s entire family. Hell, they were surprised when he killed her attendant.
"M-My family! N-No! Noooooooooooo!" Ranala ran to her carriage and told the coachman to go to her house right away.
The carriage floated into the air and started flying.
---
"Was that necessary?" Charlotte asked
"My father always told me that if someone makes you their enemy, you get rid of them, leaving no loose ends. Tell me, when you have the power to do what you want, who’s gonna stop you?" Kai asked her.
She didn’t answer because she knew what the answer was. But after thinking about his words, she started to smile.
"Do you think I can become that strong?" She asked
Kai knew where this was going. "You can."
"And if I become strong like you, no one would be able to question what I do, right?"
"Exactly."
"Hmmmm. Will you be okay with training me until I become strong enough to do whatever I want?"
"Sure. I can also make your family a ducal family as well."
Charlotte nodded. "Yeah. That sounds great."
"Lady Charlotte, the road up ahead is blocked by some debris. I’ll go move it real quick." The coachman informed her.
"Very well." She responded.
"Hmm? Ohohoho! This is great." Kai was getting excited.
"What’s great?" She asked
"Assassins! This will be an amazing lesson for you, Charlotte!" Kai remembered his first time fighting assassins with Gwen when they found Princess Tyria. That felt like so long ago.
"A-Assassins?! Are they after me? Oh shit!"
"Nah. They’re too strong to be after you. They’re most likely after me. I’m guessing the second prince put them up to this."
"Right. You did piss him off."
Kai nodded.
"Oh shit! The coach—And he’s dead. Rest in peace, coachman. You have served us well. Anyway, here’s the plan. You’re going to go out there and just attack them, okay?"
"What? No! I’m not going to do that! Are you crazy?"
"Yes!" Kai tossed her out of the carriage.
