The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 439: Show them what you’re made of!

Charlotte landed face-first in the show, her ass high in the air. Pulling her face out of the snow, she saw five people standing around her, all of them with neutral expressions on their faces.

"H-Hi, you might not know me, but I’m Charlotte Nord, daughter of Axel Nord." She smiled, extremely scared of dying.

"Yes, we know who you are." One man responded

"Ahh, well, this is awkward."

"It is unfortunate, young lady Charlotte. You being here with our target means you have to die as well. Our client doesn’t want any loose ends." He summoned a dagger, then jabbed at her throat.

"W-What is this?" The assassin couldn’t even reach her throat as his body stopped moving.

"Hold on, man. What are you doing?" Kai asked, stepping out of the carriage.

The four other assassins jumped backward, pulling out their weapons.

"You’re killing her right away? Shouldn’t you at least tell us who your employer is?" That was basic villain 101

"Why would we reveal vital information? That goes against our policy." The assassin grunted, trying to break free from Kai’s mana grasp.

"Fair enough, I guess. Anyway, I have a proposal for the five of you. One by one, you each will fight Charlotte to help her get adjusted to real-life combat. You can fight to kill, and you may use any trick up your sleeve. If you beat her, you keep your life; if not, you die. What do you say?"

Kai thought that was a generous offer. He did think about killing them and being done with it, but assassins are such tutorial-level enemies that he really wanted Charlotte to fight against one.

"How do you take this for an answer!" One assassin charged toward Kai. His movements were extremely fast, and he was confident in his abilities.

Taking out two daggers, he aimed for Kai’s neck, and the moment he got close, Kai swatted him like a bug, and his body splattered like water in a popped balloon. Then, Kai showed his hand and dropped four fake teeth that held poison in them.

The assassins didn’t even realize that Kai had taken out their suicide teeth in case of being captured or confronted with a stronger enemy. That made all of the assassins think twice before attacking him.

"Okay, now there are only four of you, unfortunately. So, who wants to go first?"

No one volunteered.

"Pussies. You, big nose, you’re up."

"Dammit."

All of them knew that they couldn’t contend with Kai, so they decided to just play along.

"Charlotte, get ready."

"Yes!" She took out a wand that Kai had never seen her use before and readied herself.

With a wave of his hand, Kai made a mini platform for them to fight on.

"Now, contestants, walk onto the platform!"

Charlotte walked onto the platform, and she gulped from nervousness. When the assassin walked on it, he felt his power draining until it was at the same level as Charlotte.

"H-Huh? What’s happening to me? My power, it’s been weakened!" The assassin didn’t even know something like this was possible.

"What? You think I’d have you fight Charlotte at full strength? Are you crazy?"The guy was a tier-7 warrior. Kai would be a fool to have Charlotte fight someone like him without evening the playing field.

"Fucking bastard. I’m going to kill this little bit—aghh!" The assassin looked at his neck, seeing an icicle lodged in it. His blood dripped down his neck, some of it freezing due to the ice, and he fell on his knees.

"Y-You ch-cheater!" He collapsed onto the ground, dead.

"Woohoooo! Good shit, Charlotte! That was great!" Kai didn’t know if she would take advantage of the assassin talking his ass off, and luckily, she did. Rule number one of being in a fight is to focus on your opponent, but he failed to do that, resulting in his death.

"That...That was pretty scary." This was Charlotte’s first time killing a person, and her hands were shaking. She killed animals, primal beasts, and some monsters, but not people.

"I’ll go next!" One assassin shouted, raising his hand. He saw that Charlotte was shaking and wanted to take advantage of her weakness.

"Great! Step up, good sir!" Kai welcomed the guy onto the platform.

The moment he stepped up, he attacked her. He threw multiple poison daggers in her direction, forcing Charlotte to put up a shield of ice to protect herself.

"You’re wide open!" The assassin attacked from behind, cutting Charlotte’s arm, but she was able to use wind to cut the assassin’s belly.

"Nice trade, but it’s not in your favor. My dagger is coated with poison. You wont be able to...What the fuck are you doing?!"

Charlotte was using water magic to extract the poison from her body.

"Whoa! That’s fucking awesome! Good thinking!" Kai was starting to think that she had a mind for combat after all.

’Maybe she can learn some good synergy with my girls! Hmm, I’ll have to train others and make another team. The A-Team of girls is boring when it comes to synergy.’ Kai added another thing to do to his list.

"You may have gotten the poison out, but you’ll still die by my hand!" The assassin attacked once more, throwing daggers at Charlotte. He coated one with lightning, flinging it at her extremely fast.

"Argh!" It landed right in her shoulder, almost completely stunning her, but she was still able to move an arm.

When the assassin attacked again, she cast a spell where water jetted out of her wand with extreme pressure.

Unfortunately, the assassin wasn’t fazed by the attack, and he cut right through it, but Charlotte wanted that.

She made the spell weaker on purpose to have the guy lower his guard. When he cut through the spell, some of the water got in his wound, which, on paper, isn’t bad. But when she used her next spell, it was deadly for the assassin.

All of the water from her spell that was in his body suddenly froze, and an icicle jutted out of his back.

"Holy shit! That was hardcore! Good shit, Charlotte!"
