The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 442: Mystic Blizzard
Now that everything was being handled properly with the kingdom’s situation, Kai and Karumi went to investigate the source of the blizzard. The winds were strong, blowing snow so much that Kai swore he saw a snow tornado, a snownado.
As he sensed around to find the source of the blizzard, he felt a stronger pull in a certain direction, going toward it to hopefully find the source.
On his way, Frostina contacted him.
"I want to say that I really appreciate you looking after my people, even if you don’t really care for their well-being."
"You sure you aren’t the one who created this blizzard?" Kai joked
"Do you seriously think I’d do something like this?" Frostina was offended
"Who knows. Have you read Greek mythology?" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"I don’t even know what that is."
"Fair enough. Tell me, can you sense a disturbance in the force—shit, I mean the blizzard? It doesn’t feel natural."
Frostina agreed. She was trying to figure out how this random blizzard came about, but when she looked into it, her power was blocked.
This confirmed to Kai that it was Progenitor Decay since normal gods aren’t able to perceive it.
"Well, since this is a part of the tasks my father is putting me through, it makes sense that I will check it out." Kai took off in the direction of the disturbance, going faster than he already was to arrive quicker and stop this blizzard sooner.
Right before Kai found the disturbance, he flew into a swirling wall of snow overflowing with progenitor decay.
"Ow. Fuck, man, that shit really hurts! Fucking idiot bastard! He could just wipe all this shit out with the swipe of his hands, but NOOOOOOOOO he has me do it!" Kai got up, touching the swirling snow, not able to pass through it.
"Want me to try?" Karumi asked
"Sure, if you wanna get chopped into many pieces."
"On second thought..."
The progenitor decay was stronger in the swirling snow, but Kai could feel that it was even more intense beyond the snow.
"I’m guessing that this is some type of barrier to prevent people from entering what’s beyond here, but it’s a shame that I was the one to arrive and not a regular person." Kai shoved his hand through the swirling snow, then did the same for his other hand, and started to pull the snow apart.
The sensation was pretty weird since he was grabbing air and snow, but the space around the area started to tear, then crack, and finally, it was ripped apart.
"Haha! I’m a beast!"
"You’re my beast."
"I can be a beast for you, all right."
"Wanna fuck later?" Karumi asked
"Hell yeah!"
Kai walked through a dense fog that clouded his vision. It was a fog of progenitor decay, so he quickly protected Karumi from it. Even though she was a divine spirit, she wasn’t immune to the effects of this energy.
Finally, after walking for what felt like fifteen minutes, the fog cleared up, and Kai was standing in front of a large castle that was crafted entirely out of ice.
"Wow! Whoever built this needs to go into architecture. This shit is fire, or I guess I should say cool. Ha. I’m funny." Kai took a step forward and was knocked back.
"Ooof! What the fuck just hit me?" Shimmering into the light was a monster that looked like a lion but was way bigger than one, had the teeth of a shark, and a long ass tongue like a snake.
But that wasn’t even the weird part. This lion had the mouth of a person, which really creeped out Kai and Karumi.
"Pwahaha! You got knocked out by an ugly creature like that! Did you not sense it or something?" Karumi was not off Kai’s shoulders, standing in her human form.
"No. I didn’t sense it at all. I think that this creature may—" Kai caught an arrow made out of ice from impaling him in the head.
Again, he wasn’t able to sense the arrow until the very last moment. Suddenly, more and more creatures shimmered into the light.
When Karmi saw this, she knew that things were serious and she couldn’t fool around.
"Okay, what are we working with here?" She asked, using all of her senses to be prepared for a sudden attack.
"I don’t know? But these creatures most likely have been affected by the dense progenitor decay in this area." Kai theorized.
"That makes sense. But why do they look so ugly?"
"Dunno. Maybe this is Leo’s taste. No idea how he bagged someone like my mom."
[Leo and Cassie.]
"I’m gonna kill him!" Leo growled.
"Aw!! That’s my sweetie! He loves his mommy! Best son ever!"
[Back to Kai and Karumi.]
"I’ll knock these ugly bastards out and clear you a path!" Karumi, being the battle maniac that she was, morphed her hands and feet into white, furry claws and charged toward one of the weird-looking lions.
"Time to go night night!" Her energy was so intense that it cracked like lightning, and when she slashed at the lion, her claws broke.
"The fuck?!"
Before she could react, she was knocked away, her arm breaking from blocking the attack.
"Arghh!"
"Motherfucker!" Kai blasted that Lion, attempting to kill it in one go, but it didn’t die. While it was injured, it was still alive.
This was a first for Kai in a long time, feeling the actual weight of a battle. He couldn’t take things lightly and needed to be serious.
"Can you stand?" He asked Karumi.
"Y-Yes. But my arm is broken. Nngh!"
"Don’t worry." He healed her arm, making it as good as new.
"I’m going to awaken more of your power, okay?"
A smirk appeared on her face. "Do it!"
Kai placed his hand on her back, and Karumi’s energy exploded outward.
Kai had been gradually increasing the power of his girls since he got the ability to do so. Even his girls who aren’t mages or martial artists can use magic, and he increases their power regularly.
But now, he awakened tons of Karumi’s dormant power that she would have gotten if she had trained for it, skipping that process overall.
While her power still wasn’t on the level of Kai’s, it was enough to allow her to at least hurt the enemies they were fighting, but more specifically, allow her to protect herself.
"I got your back, and you got mine, kay?" She asked
"You know it."
"Great! Let’s spill some blood!"
