Chapter 65: Chapter 65: The Power of Blasting Fish

"It might not be something said by a living person; perhaps they found records left by Chopping Watermelons, like a notebook or something. As for this mark... maybe they branded it on themselves as proof of being part of the same gang?"

After all, there’s no rule that says you can’t use someone else’s symbol as your own gang’s mark.

"And how do you explain that sentence? Why would he speak the language of your clan?"

"Probably decoded. Didn’t Baozi crack it too?"

"It seems that only by finding that island can we resolve these doubts."

I turned over the medical record, showing Chen Qinghan the artwork I completed.

Chen Qinghan came over, looked at it carefully, then took the medical record and tore off the page, carefully folding it and putting it into his pocket.

"I’ll have someone compare it later. By the way—" He hadn’t finished speaking when someone outside suddenly shouted ’What’s that?’

The people in the camp were very alert, and upon discovering something unusual, sent someone to check immediately.

I had a bad feeling in my gut, and Chen Qinghan’s face changed dramatically, likely thinking the same as me.

He dashed to the tent’s entrance in a flash. As soon as he lifted the curtain, he saw golden light flashing outside.

Gunfire erupted, but both Chen Qinghan and I knew that thing was bulletproof.

"Don’t mind it, just drive away; it won’t chase." Chen Qinghan ran out of the tent, shouting to the others outside.

Everyone else listened; aside from the two injured by the golden light, the rest went to start the cars. The two injured were also lifted into a car, and everything was done decisively and efficiently.

A cold wind swept through, leaving only a few empty tents by the lake.

"Go back to the tomb." Chen Qinghan drew the big treasure sword from his back, standing in front of Eyes of Golden Flame.

Having lost Miss Scream’s body, it probably hadn’t found another suitable ’container,’ so this time, I finally saw its true form.

But seeing it was pointless; I couldn’t figure out what it was!

It seemed like a blob of liquid, semi-transparent, with a head and two arms, but no legs.

There were only two golden eyes on the semi-transparent head, it felt like a robot baymax with its legs sawed off and blurred.

Fortunately, I’ve seen that touching movie; otherwise, I’d have no idea how to describe this thing.

"Big Black! Enough already, don’t keep nagging me, or don’t blame me for being ruthless!" I didn’t know what to call it at first; calling it Big Black wasn’t because it looked like Robot Baymax, but because it resembled a persistent Black Fan.

"It won’t listen to you, run." Chen Qinghan took the lead, hoping to attract Big Black’s ’firepower.’

But this time, Big Black ignored him, leaping over Chen Qinghan and directly launched a golden light attack at me.

The exit on the slope could only be opened from the inside, and to return to the ancient tomb I had to take the water route again.

Reluctantly, I followed Chen Qinghan’s arrangement and ran toward the lakeside. At the moment I fell into the water, I felt a force on my back, or if Big Black had feet, it must have kicked me into the lake.

Anger surging up, I flailed into the depths, planning to handle it once inside the tomb.

No matter if I sacrifice an arm, I have to test whether its golden light is tougher than my skin.

If it can’t hurt me, it’ll regret it today.

Thud... thud thud...

In the end, it chased me in the water, firing golden light like torpedoes across the lake, making the lakebed surge with muddy waves.

No matter how crazy a fisherman, they wouldn’t aim to blast a fishpond into oblivion like this.

The piranhas in the lake were blasted into bloody bits, their blood and mud mixed and scattered high into the air.

Now it was using a big move, determined to finish me off.

I weaved my body to dodge its golden light, but there was no more room to escape in the lake, and finding the entrance to the ancient tomb was impossible.

Gripping my teeth, I turned and lunged at Big Black; the surrounding water was particularly murky, but its glowing eyes were easy to recognize.

"I’ve put up with you long enough!" When a person is furious, rationality doesn’t stand a chance; I spun back and unleashed a flurry of punches, pounding Little Black’s body with dull thuds.

Its body appeared liquid-like, but in reality, it was incredibly hard, like some metallic material.

My fists hit it with as much effect as hitting cotton, failing to make a dent. I darted behind it, wrapping around its neck, hiding behind it.

Its arms were like two long eggplant stalks, lacking human joints and unable to bend backward.

Crouching behind it, its palm-based golden light attack couldn’t reach me.

But before I could be pleased for long, its whole plump body began to glow, the golden light growing stronger, threatening to swallow the entire lake.

"Damn, it’s all or nothing!" I yelled, reaching for the grenade in my pocket.

This thing I snuck from Lord Qi’s backpack, hadn’t told Chen Qinghan, kept it secretly just in case.

And now it was just in time for that ’in case’, since it couldn’t be blown from the outside, I’d shove the grenade in its eye, see if it could blow its head to bits.

"Little Fu—" Chen Qinghan, noticing the golden light in the lake, must have sensed big trouble, wanting to come to my aid.

He’d already helped me plenty; to owe more favors from him would be endless, fearing it couldn’t be repaid even in his lifetime.

"Don’t come!" I shouted at him while thrusting the grenade into one of Big Black’s eye sockets.

Its eyes, unlike its hard body, were like a light bulb that I crushed with force.

Sticking a grenade up close meant having no time to escape; could only dive downward before it exploded, heading towards the bottom of the lake.

The grenade exploded underwater, the blast pushing me a distance, but fortunately, I wasn’t hurt.

Big Black’s two golden eyes darkened, yet its body continued glowing.

It stood like an underwater searchlight, defiantly amidst the murky lake waters.

I glared at it, when suddenly a red haze took over, hard to say whether the overwhelming redness or the vertigo of falling into a memory came first, or perhaps both at once—a backdrop of red appeared and I found myself on a ship.

Someone talked beside me, but my gaze fixed ahead, ignoring anyone nearby.

Then someone lifted the semi-transparent Big Black beside me, motionless, eyes unlit, like a machine not powered on.

"Little Fu... Little Fu..." I was shaken back to the real world, someone was shaking my head.

"Stop shaking, I’m not dead." I opened my eyes, seeing Chen Qinghan’s worried face, mud all over him, and a starry sky behind.

"What should I do?" Chen Qinghan’s expression remained serious, as if the sky was falling.

"Huh? Help me up." I felt his question silly, as I tried to sit up and found neither arm worked.

"You’re hurt." Chen Qinghan looked down at my arms.

Following his gaze, I looked down, and as soon as I did, there was a crack sound, my neck was bent and couldn’t turn back.
