The King's Unbreakable Wife-Chapter 284: Fall of enemies (3)
Chapter 284: Fall of enemies (3)
It pained Julia to have to say Grant’s name but she had to save her family. Grant should understand why she did this since he was all about family. She cried, filled with regret that she was betraying the man she loved. "He wants his granddaughter to become the mother of the next king."
Tobias took a step back. Of course, it would be Grant. He was turning out to be the mastermind behind everything these days. It wouldn’t be surprising if Grant had some kind of involvement with the young women going missing. "Of fucking course. What relationship do you have with Grant?"
Julia was happy she could not speak about their love. A huge part of this story was out in the open now so there was no need to hide that he was in love with her and not his wife. "He loves me. As long as I do what he wants, he will take care of me and my family."
Tobias realised that she had been delusional. She easily fell for Grant’s tricks. Grant didn’t love her. He loved how close she was to Hazel. It was disgusting to think of the kind of relationship the two had when Linda was often near Julia.
Not only would this greatly affect Hazel, but Linda as well.
Grant had been out to try ruining Tobias’s family and with it, he ruined his own. There was no coming back from this for Grant.
Julia received the harsh truth from Edgar of how Grant didn’t love her and used her instead. While Edgar and Tobias could not kill her right now, it didn’t mean she would go on without being punished
Julia had done something to both their wives and for that, she had to pay.
Despite wanting to kill her for doing something to Alessandra, Edgar handed his sword to Tobias. Now that he had calmed down, Edgar thought of what Tobias and Hazel had gone through. Tobias deserved to punish her. Julia was deserving of many of the kingdom’s cruellest punishments.
"I will hold out her hands," said Edgar. First, Julia would lose what she has been pouring the tea with.
Julia tried to put up a fight to get away but she was pushed down to the snow. They could not do this to her. All she did was follow what Grant wanted. Where was Grant and his army when she needed them?
"No!" Julia screamed, not wanting to be without her hands. What was the point of living without them? "Your Highness, please. Please kill me instead, Your Highness. I do not want to suffer without my hands. Please!"
Death was a better punishment for her. How was she to protect herself without her hands? How was she to face her family after this?
Tobias didn’t care about her cries. Her pleas for him to just end her life. What made her think that he was going to let her just die? After all the pain and misery Hazel experienced, why should Julia just die and not know what it was like to suffer?
Julia’s death was going to be slow and satisfying. She might call the dungeon home for the next three years. He didn’t know what yet, but there had to be something he could force her to drink so she would be in pain but not die.
Tobias positioned the sword, ready to take her first hand. "Cry for Grant instead. You deserve to lose the hands you serve the tea with." freeweɓnovel.cѳm
Julia tried to fight against the men holding her down once more. Why couldn’t they just kill her? Hazel would want her dead and should Grant win against the king, she was as good as dead so just kill her.
Everyone else was silent as Julia’s piercing scream was heard after the first blow. Her hand did not fully sever after the first impact so Tobias did it again. He would have liked to drive the sword into her chest, but he continued to hold back.
Once the deed was done Tobias turned to Edgar, requesting to use the army of men Edgar brought today. He needed it to go up against Grant.
Tobias could not wait any longer to face Grant. With this news, he had a strong urge to kill Grant right now. If he didn’t get his hands on Grant right now, there was a lot of anger he might misplace and send someone else’s way.
Edgar agreed to go for Grant now. He had a feeling that Grant targeted his wife because of a conversation they had at the winter party. He could not let the old bastard get away with this.
Before Julia was sent away with her missing hand which would serve as a good memory, she was able to give them the name of the other man working with Grant. William Lancaster.
Edgar had a personal issue with William seeing as the man wanted his wife. First, they would go to Grant, but William would be dead by nightfall.
Tobias was given a horse to join Edgar and his palace guards with riding out to go to Grant. There was going to be war inside the kingdom today. Something Tobias would have liked to avoid but that couldn’t happen now.
"Ride out!" Edgar ordered his men. He and Tobias were both at the front to lead their men to take down the kingdom’s enemy.
Tobias knew they had the chance to defeat Grant’s army because of his men, Edgar’s, and then someone would send for Kenneth. He only hoped that when it came time for Grant to die, Kenneth would not change his mind and fight against them. Or that Kenneth had been playing him all along.
Tobias trusted Kenneth and his sons from day one, but with betrayals coming from all around, his trust was decreasing. The only person he was certain about at the moment was his friend beside him.
Edgar was the only person Tobias found to be honest over the years since they were honest. Edgar and his other friend.
"Maybe I shouldn’t have sent Rafael away. There might be a war within the kingdom today and we could use his men. It would be like the old days when the three of us went to war together. I will admit that I am a bit jealous of you today, Edgar," Tobias said.
He felt less of a husband when looking at Edgar.
Tobias explained, "The slightest threat to your wife and you brought an entire army to my gates. You’re right that I haven’t been protecting Hazel well."
From the start, Tobias should have done more. His focus should have been on Hazel and the people around her more.
Edgar glanced at Tobias. He regretted how harsh he had been. Tobias didn’t deserve it since Edagr knew that he had been trying hard to protect Hazel.
"Don’t let my words get to you. I was just angry back there. I told you many times you have been protecting her as best as you could while ruling an entire kingdom. You can’t be by her side to watch what is happening to her every second. I’m sure she knows this."
