The King's Unbreakable Wife-Chapter 298: Better place (2)
Chapter 298: Better place (2)
Hazel exited the room, feeling better than she thought she would before she had entered. She didn’t stay long since there wasn’t much she wanted to say to Julia. Before she thought there would be a lot of questions she needed Julia to answer, but after entering the room and seeing Julia, she changed her mind.
"Did you get everything off your chest?" Tobias asked.
While Julia was restrained so she could not harm Hazel, he came around because it might take a toll on Hazel to be here.
"There isn’t a lot that I said to her. I think it is best that I leave my last time seeing her to be this way. You weren’t kidding about the hands. I think she is deserving of that as her punishment. Have her sent back to be somewhere alone in the dungeon. She has a lot of regretting to do," Hazel said, holding onto Tobias’s arm so they could walk together.
"She confessed to being the one to kill Lynn. I think she thought doing that would have angered me to the point I would have her killed but I will not. She will not die just yet. I want Lynn’s family to be informed of who harmed Lynn and I support whatever they shall ask of the court," said Hazel.
If Lynn’s family came to the court, expecting something to be done to Julia, Hazel wanted to be present at that time because she would grant them whatever they asked for.
"It is only fair," Tobias agreed. "How does it feel to be back in the palace?"
Tobias’s greatest worry about today was Hazel’s return. The palace received a big cleanse of the people ruining it but there were still a few noisy people left.
"No need to worry as I find my time back to be pleasant. If there is someone or something that is troubling me, I will let you know right away. I know after all that was revealed, it is expected for me to be sad but I don’t feel that way right now. Isn’t that odd?" Hazel asked.
She spent the last few days with Alessandra and her grandmother who taught them how to bake. Sometimes she got visits from Linda or Eleanor who was now a close friend. They had all helped her not to be stuck dwelling in the past and enjoying the present.
"It isn’t odd. You’ve been surrounded by people who helped to put you in a better mood. It would be perfectly fine if you do not want to speak to anyone. Other than me of course," Tobias said, kissing her cheek.
"I am not going to hide away so when you need to be in the court, please call for me. I have much that I want to do and I am going to let my voice be heard. I don’t care who will grow tired of hearing me. First, we have a ball to plan," Hazel said, looking forward to preparing for his birthday.
Not only would a ball be a good distraction for the town but for their relationship as well. freewebnøvel.coɱ
Hazel did not want Tobias to linger on what she had shared with him a few nights ago. She was slowly entering a better place with her thoughts so he did not need to constantly worry about that.
Hazel had fun with the duchess and her other friends, now it was time for Tobias to enjoy his birthday. This week was full of too much fighting and death on Tobias’s side. His birthday should be different.
"I have already thought of who should be invited but I am curious. Should we extend the invitation to your parents? You do not want them near and I would enjoy going the night without arguing but it would spark rumours if they do not show," Hazel said.
Hazel didn’t need the town to forget all about Grant by starting rumours that there was trouble in the Castro family. Enough about their lives was already being discussed and Hazel didn’t want to answer why his parents weren’t there.
"Send it out of courtesy but I do not expect to see them. My mother will not accept it because I told her to cut her off twice and my father will not want to leave her. I don’t want to see either one at the ball and I do not care what the town would say," Tobias replied.
Now wasn’t a time that he cared about rumours. Tobias was only looking forward to enjoying his birthday with Hazel and all the friends that would be present that night.
"Very well. I hope that my family can make it back in time to be at the ball. I thought they would have been here by now but the trip back must be hard because of the snow. I feel bad that Helena has chosen to come now when she is pregnant. I must prepare something as an apology. What do you think?" Hazel asked Tobias since she couldn’t think of anything right now.
"Taking her away from her husband might be the best gift you have given her," Tobias replied.
Hazel playfully tapped his hand. "You are a fool, Tobias. While he might be annoying us, Helena is happily in love with him so you must be on your best behaviour. Especially now that I am thinking of what gift you are deserving of. I think that it is time for us to share one room."
Hazel thought that the first thing they should change was having to sleep in different rooms. They had been married for over three years now and had spent most of it with Tobias sneaking around to be with her. It was old and ridiculous considering how much focus they put on the two of them needing a child.
"I think your gift should start now by moving all your things to my bedroom. It would make your other birthday gift much easier for me to do," Hazel teased, hinting that she intended to do what he asked for.
Tobias smiled as turning a year older didn’t sound so bad now. "I will get the guards and maids to do that right now. You cannot take this back, Hazel."
