Chapter 313: Gift (4)

For a moment, Hazel thought she had finally broken Tobias since he wouldn’t move. He didn’t seem to believe her words at first or maybe, he wasn’t over the shock yet.

Hazel was patient so she waited for it all to register for Tobias. "Why does it seem like you are planning something in your head?"

Hazel wouldn’t put it past Tobias to start to plan which room the child should have and what else a baby would need. She had to keep Tobias and Daisy away from each other as those two would just become one big worrying mess.

"Wait, wait," Hazel tried to stop Tobias, but she failed as his lips ended up on her own.

His hand was placed on her back to stop her from sliding off of his lap. Hazel heard him laughing against her lips. She knew that he might want to get up and jump around but she was on his lap so he had to be careful.

"We will have a child," Tobias said, wanting to repeat it over and over again. If Hazel was not on him, he would shout it from the window.

"We will and as much as I would like to see you happily telling everyone, I think we should keep it a secret for now. Between you, me, Daisy and the doctor. I want to enjoy this even if it is just for a day without the court coming to ask questions. Can we?" Hazel asked.

She wanted to be able to celebrate with just Tobias before she would have a lot of people coming around. With it being so early, Hazel did not want too many people near as it brought more chances for her to be harmed.

While Tobias wanted to let everyone know that he was going to be a father, he understood Hazel’s feelings.

"We can keep it between us for as long as you need. When you are ready to share it, let me know so we can send out a notice to the kingdom. I think that you should limit your travels to the court now. When you go there, all you do is fight with those fools. You can use this room and call upon someone you can speak to from the court. Mark," Tobias suggested.

"Mark already has his hands full so I don’t want to bother him. I will decrease the number of meetings I attend but I want to be present when you discuss the truce. I was doing so well with attending but I won’t be upset that they chose now to come to us," said Hazel.

Hazel could always attend more meetings in the court once the baby was here but she didn’t think she could wait any longer for a baby to come.

"I will just do a little bit of work. Don’t worry," Hazel said, kissing Tobias’s cheek. It was written all over his face that he was worrying too much. "Stop worrying so much or by the time the baby is here, your hair will turn white. I don’t want our child to think that I married some old man."

Tobias touched his chest, trying to calm his wounded heart. "Must you speak of such a terrible thing Hazel? I don’t want to think of having white hair just yet. Allow me to enjoy my youth."

Hazel playfully pinched Tobias. "Then stop worrying too much. We will be fine. Can you find a way to have all the eggs removed from our breakfast? The scent was awful and all I did was smell the water they were in. There are foods that I cannot have around as they will give this away. I want to have breakfast in my bedroom."

It would take a lot of work to hide this for now but Hazel was willing to put up with it. Some parts of her pregnancy needed to be calm before she needed to worry about everyone panicking.

"When will you tell your family?" Tobias asked. "Or your friends?"

Hazel thought about it. "I would like to tell my family first before the kingdom finds out and you should tell your family as well. It wouldn’t be fair for only my parents to be informed and you do not get to do the same. As for our friends, when can tell them soon since they will keep a secret."

Hazel wanted to share the news with all her friends so they could start planning in secret. Since she could not go out to buy what she would like to, she might be able to use one of her friends to buy what she needed from the town.

"I want to tell Edgar the news. I beat him to it," Tobias said, knowing Edgar would be jealous.

"Right. I think those two are open to having a child. I wish them the best," Hazel said, wanting it to be easy for Alessandra.

"They need to have one soon so our children can marry. We need a boy and they need a girl," Tobias started to plot.

He and Edgar would be more than friends if he could get their children to marry.

"It shouldn’t be hard to do."

Hazel thought differently because she couldn’t see Edgar allowing any of his children to marry into the Castro family. Tobias would have to kill Edgar for that to happen and the chances of that were already low.

"Our baby is not here yet so don’t go planning any engagements for them. Edgar will kill you if he were to know what you are planning and you were the one to dislike the selection. I want our children to be able to pick who they will marry. I won’t trouble you any longer," Hazel said, attempting to stand but Tobias wouldn’t let her.

"Hazel, how could you want to leave already after bringing me this news? It just so happened that I don’t have work to do so, spend the rest of the day with me," Tobias requested.

"I guess it would be bad to just leave and we need to speak with the doctor. Fine," Hazel agreed to stay.
