The Lustful Villain: Every Milfs and Gilfs are Mine!-Chapter 87. New Day, New Power-Up, New Problem Named Theo
Rex’s eyes snapped open to chaos.
Sunlight was streaming through the carriage windows, far too bright for the pre-dawn hour when he’d fallen asleep. His body felt different, charged with energy that hadn’t been there before, and the mark on his right hand pulsed once before settling into dormancy.
Outside the carriage, he can hear someone screaming.
Rex sat up quickly and automatically took stock of his surroundings. Lily was pressed against the back wall of the carriage, and her face was pale.
Helena held her hands up, and magic crackled between them. Diana was looking for a weapon that wasn’t there because everything was packed tightly for the trip.
Evelyn was right behind Elliot, and he was already trying to push open the carriage door. She looked like she was ready to fight.
"What’s going on...?" Rex asked, his voice cutting through the fear.
"Demons," Helena said in a short way. "Flying demons."
"They suddenly appeared five minutes ago."
Rex went to the window and looked out.
The carriage convoy had stopped in what looked like a cleared area next to the road, most likely for a planned break. The soldiers made a loose circle around the four carriages, which were in a loose circle.
Above them, there were at least a dozen clearly demon-like flying creatures, circling like raptors.
These demons were not the little imps that Rex had read about in fantasy books. These were real war beasts, each the size of a horse, with leathery wings, sharp teeth, and riders who looked like they had just come out of a nightmare.
The demons had a reptilian appearance, resembling a hybrid of dragons and wyverns. Their riders wore dark armor covered in symbols that Rex’s new and improved vision quickly recognized as demonic script.
One of the demons turned sharply and dove toward the carriage convoy. Its rider raised a spear that glowed with sickly green energy.
Rex’s Foresight kicked in on its own and showed him the path. The spear was going to hit the wagon.
The carriage they rode in. In about three seconds.
He didn’t think, but he just acted right away.
His telekinesis reached out, unseen and exact, and caught the spear in midair. The weapon halted as if it had collided with a wall, hovering in midair for a brief moment before Rex altered its trajectory.
It then spun off into the woods, where it hit a tree trunk with a blast of corrupted magic.
The demon rider pulled up quickly, and its ugly face showed that it was confused.
"Everyone out," Rex said. "We’re more vulnerable when we’re stuck in here looking all confused. (like a fucking wimp)"
They got out of the carriage and into a mess of organized chaos. Theo was already fighting one of the flying demons.
His huge shield blocked dark magic blasts while he directed the soldiers’ defensive formation. Iris was on top of one of the carriages, bow in hand, shooting arrows at any demon that flew too low with perfect accuracy.
The Starlight family automatically fell into formation, years of fighting experience winning over fear. Helena started casting, and her magic made a protective dome over the people who were huddled near the center carriage.
Diana got her bow and quiver from the supply cart and went up to Iris right away. Elliot took out his sword and went to help Theo.
Evelyn’s supernatural speed propelled her into the fight, enabling her to strike demons as they fell.
Rex stood in the middle of it all, his Foresight showing him every attack before it happened. His telekinesis worked hard to deflect, redirect, and sometimes even crush threats that were coming his way.
While he was tracking six different paths at once, his system woke up with notifications he’d never seen before.

Rex’s eyes found Theo across the battlefield, and he could see him more clearly than ever. So Diana’s crush was one of the Goddess of Life’s favorites—what a plot twist already for him.
And that was both useful information and a problem that he would have to deal with carefully.
But then, the system wasn’t finished.

Rex felt a dark sense of satisfaction wash over him. Everything Lustia said would happen did happen and worked.
He could feel the new skills humming just below the surface of his mind, waiting to be used.
But now was not the time to try new things. It was time to end this fight and keep his cover, as he usually does.
He used his telekinesis to grab one of the diving demons by the wings and slam it into the ground so hard that it made a crater. The rider was thrown clear, and soldiers quickly surrounded him and killed him.
The fight went on for a few more minutes, but the outcome was never in doubt. The demons were killed one by one thanks to Theo’s defensive coordination, Iris and Diana’s precise archery, Evelyn’s speed, Helena’s magic, and Rex’s help that was hidden.
When the last one fell, three of Diana’s arrows hit it at once, and the clearing became eerily quiet.
Theo quickly went to the few demons that had lived through their crashes, sword in hand and a hard look on his face. Rex got closer because he was interested in what would happen next.
"That’s enough, you lowly demons! Tell us who sent you here!" Theo shouted, putting his sword to the throat of the demon rider who was still alive.
The creature made a wet, rough laugh. "The Lord Mordecai sends his greetings, Shield Bearer."
"He knows the capital is strengthening its defenses, the Apostles are gathering, and your goddess is getting more and more desperate."
"Mordecai," Theo said again, his voice cold. "You’ll tell me everything about his plans, operations, and locations."
"Like hell I would! I’ll tell you nothing, holy fool." The demon spit black blood at Theo’s feet. "We’re already dead, and you haven’t won anything."
Theo’s face stayed the same. "Then you’ve lived longer than you should have."
The sword moved with deadly precision, and the demon’s head came off before it could do anything. Theo moved on to the next living demon and did the same thing, slowly and without mercy.
All of the demon prisoners were dead within two minutes.
Rex was interested in this show of practical violence. So the brave Apostle of Life wasn’t against killing enemies who had already lost.
That was helpful to know how far his morals really went.
"Rex!"
He turned to see Lily running toward him with a look of relief on her face. Without thinking, she threw her arms around him, and he automatically caught her, putting his hands on her waist.
He smiled a little and said, "Good morning to you too."
"I was so worried! You were still sleeping when it started, and I thought you might be hurt because of the sudden attack..."
"Then the spear almost hit us, and I..." She pulled back just enough to look at him. "Are you all right?"
"I’m fine." Rex told her, "Apparently, I just woke up at the wrong time."
Helena came closer, and her face showed how difficult it had been to keep that protective dome up for so long. "Sorry for waking you up so suddenly."
"Without any warning or scouts, the demons suddenly appeared. It was a planned attack."
Theo joined them and said, "It was supposed to be a probing attack."
He had blood on his armor, but other than that, he looked fine. "They wanted to see how well we could defend ourselves and maybe kill some of us to lower our spirits before we got to the capital."
"They mentioned Mordecai," Rex said. "Is that the demon lord Iris told us about?"
"Yeah, the same." Theo looked very serious. "This confirms what we know."
"He’s actively trying to stop the Apostle gathering that Lady Valentina has called for by moving people to Aethelgard."
Evelyn appeared beside Elliot, breathing only slightly harder than normal despite having just fought a small war. "Are the civilians alright?"
"They’re shaken but unharmed," Helena said.
Evelyn smiled. "As always... your barrier held up perfectly, Mother."
Rex thought it was interesting that she used "Mother" instead of Helena’s name and put it away. The family situation was more complicated than he had thought at first.
"We should keep going," Iris said from her place on top of the carriage. "These were scouts."
"There could be more coming, and I’d rather be inside the walls of the capital when that happens."
Theo nodded. "Agreed."
"Everyone back to the carriages. If we hurry, we’ll be in Aethelgard in two hours."
"I want to get there as quickly as possible."
As they start to walk back to the carriage, Rex starts to have some negative thoughts about what Theo and the demon just said about ’Apostle gathering.’ It made him think that the apostle thing was a common thing that he wanted to ask later to one of them.
For now, he just needs to keep as low a profile as possible and use the Lustful Villain form soon when the right time has come.
