The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 353: Cruel intentions- V
The part that I had lost was bever told to anyone except Tristan and Dante, the two who killed the accused and then it was Anna who had taken care of me.
Apart from these people I had never expected anyone else to ever know but not Irene did.
Her swearing to secrecy did not matter to me.
I did not end up telling Marilyn anything. I could not get a word out no matter how hard I tried. I was lost in my own head, my thoughts which seemed endless and in the end, defeated, merilyn left me alone.
She had been my true and long confidant and today I found no words to explain my problems to her.
I was served the midday meal which meant that quite a lot of time had passed.
The time I did not have.
Standing up from the sofa I was lying on, I made my way to the door and was joined by Irene.
"Sir Solomon and Sir Bert are not outside." She informed me.
Half-turning to her, I asked, "Am I supposed to stay in?"
"No, your grace," she smiled a little. "You can go anywhere you want with me. I was just informing you of their absence."
"I see." Nodding, the guards whom I did not know the name of, opened the door for me. They must be vampires.
Vampires were already all around me, what would happen if I decided permanently anyway?
That’s when I remembered something. Turning my head to the side, " walk with me, Irene." I commanded as she fell into steps beside me immediately.
"When you talk about falling in love, previously, I fell in love with a human. I fell in love with him when he was human, with his heart beating and his appetite not demanding any kind of bloody mass of meat on his plate. What of that?"
I did not know about anyone else, but this was something my mind has repeatedly stuck on. There was a difference between Tristan being a vampire and in him being a human, the human that I had fallen in love with. There was a difference and my mind could not get over it.
Irene smiled gently. "When a human is converted into a vampire, except for the appetite change, everything else remains the same as yet only magnified in Number. His love for you is the same, his leadership skills are the same, his heart is of the same size too, but now much wider to fit a lot more people in it. Every concern you have, every characteristic you think our king had as a human, it is still there, your grace. The only difference is the change in his appetite like you said."
"Oh," I frowned, "but he.. he attacked me."
"As I said, she nodded, "the feelings are magnified. It means, the more you stay away from each other, the harder it gets for the king to control. He only lost his control once and I know that he has been keeping his distance from you to make sure that he never does anything to harm you again."
If I renew it and so did the entire Palace. It would also make sense why Tristan did not remain with me the entire night as he did many times before. Now, he had merely limited his presence with me for a few hours at most.
The unease in my chest reduced slightly, but not to a great extent. It remained and it cost me continuous discomfort. Enough to let me know about its presence and affect my decisions because of it.
"Should we go to the infirmary? To see you must have something for you. Is it paining too much?" Irene was by my side quickly.
"It is not." I gave a shake of my head. "I am feeling uneasy."
"I see." Irene wrapped her hands around me and closed the distance between us. "Calm down, princess. Everything is going to be okay."
She was soothing me, I realized and somehow was actually successful in it as well because I could feel myself relaxing.
Irene continued to hug me before pulling away and taking me by the hand towards my room. She once again made me sit before offering me a cold glass of water.
"Drink all of it, please." She instructed.
I did as she told me to do. Drinking the cold glass of water was something that had some effect on me and I appreciate it. "Thank you."
She nodded back. "Feeling better?"
"Yes."
"Good." Irene took the glass away from me. "Now, do you want to go outside or should I call Lady Marilyn again?"
Lady Marilyn. I loved that. My friend deserved it.
However, I was not in the mood for anyone’s presence, and Irene had a certain appreciating quality to her, she could be quiet and disappear if she needed to do so. In fact, when I did not want her presence to be around me, I did not feel it. It was like she had left my Chambers.
I, at the moment, just wanted to be outside of my room and in the open air. Preferably in the gardens.
Even though one could not see a lot in the dark, the garden still give me a serene feeling.
"I think I’m going to go down stairs into the garden." I told her before getting up and leaving for the said place. She followed behind.
I found a place for myself, metal benches that were placed in front of each other while surrounded by bushes, had two torches lit up so that something could be visible. I took advantage of that.
Irene was around me, and I knew that. I leaned back into the bench and waited for Tristan because I knew it was only going to be a matter of seconds before he would be next to me.
With a slight blow wind, I opened my eyes to look at the side I had felt from and there he was. Tristan.
