Sir Kit was silent. He could not bring himself to question the Princess at all. ππ£πππππππΌππ²πΉ.ππ π
Sir Kit always knew that Princess Eleanor was here because she had some motive. There was something that had made her pull every trick in the book to try and come to the Beaumont mansion. He had even tried and made Lady Gisella agree to find out Princess Eleanorβs motive and yet it was something so simple.
"Say something," Princess Eleanorβs voice was low. No matter how hard she tried she could not bring herself to question the man who was sitting in front of her.
Princess Eleanor was well aware that it would be hard for Sir Kit to agree to her. After all, he was the one who served the Grand Duke. Trust was important to all the knights. It was their honor. So how could she expect Sir Kit to agree so easily?
βI should never have asked.β Princess Eleanor thought as she closed her eyes, βBut whenever he is there I cannot hide anything from him. I feel like I should tell him my worries. Maybe I think he will understand them.
"Princess wants me to say what?" Sir Kit chuckled but there was a hidden rage in it. He was not happy but he could also understand Princess Eleanorβs point of view. She had come here for a motive, and Sir Kit was well aware of it.
Sir Kit saw the tears in Princess Eleanorβs eyes as he shook his head. He was angry but no matter how angry he was he could not bring himself to scold or question Princess Eleanor when she looked so desperate.
"Princess, I cannot agree to it." Sir Kit said in a straight tone, "But I can help you in some other way."
Princess Eleanorβs eyes widened. Her throat was choked as she looked up at Sir Kit waiting for him to say something. She did not know what Sir Kit would be coming up with but she knew that he could not disappoint her.
"I will find a way for the Princess to enter the Grand Dukeβs study room, but the Princess should take me with her. She needs to be in front of my eyes all the time." Sir Kit observed Princess Eleanorβs reaction. Her eyes showed panic which was replaced by uneasiness and then understanding.
Princess Eleanor understood why Sir Kit was saying such things. He did not trust her and that mere thought hurt her a lot, but she also knew that even if it was the case he had not directly disregarded her. He gave her a chance to satisfy her curious mind with a twist. Sir Kit wants to be there.
"Okay," Princess Eleanor finally said after much self-questioning. She knew that if she wanted to enter the study she would need Sir Kitβs help.
Princess Eleanor had been observing the corridors keenly. It was so odd to her that there were no guards at the doors but somehow it made sense.
Princess Eleanor knew that there are only two situations when one does not have any guards at the door. One is when they know that there will not be any mishap and no one can enter the palace and the other is when there are hidden guards who will be observing the door and reporting everything back.
Princess Eleanor was confident that it was the second. There had to be hidden guards. She had thought about it all the way to the dining room. Her mind was only filled with the question of whether to ask for Sir Kitβs help or not.
And no matter what Princess Eleanor thought, she knew that she would need his help. Because there was a trigger.
Princess Eleanor noticed that Sir Kit entered and exited her room through the window last night. One would only do that if someone is guarding the room outside. That is the mere reason why Princess Eleanor decided not to enter the Grand Dukeβs study room on her own.
"But Sir Kit needs to make sure that he does not interrupt me in between." Princess Eleanor clarified. "As I said, I will not take anything from the Grand Dukeβs study, I simply want to make sure that my assumptions are wrong."
Sir Kit nodded his head, "Yes, I understand," Sir Kitβs voice was low as if he agreed with the Princess, "I too wish that the Princess understood that her assumptions are wrong."
Princess Eleanor blinked as she tilted her head. She did not know what to make out of the situation. Sir Kit was saying words that she could not understand. She simply smiled as she felt happy to be a step ahead of her goal.
"And princess," Sir Kitβs voice broke Princess Eleanorβs trail of thoughts as she looked up at the man in the mask. "I will keep this for now,"
Sir Kit took the dagger from the table as he ran down his finger on the handle that was carved preciously, His eyes turned sharp as his lips curled up. He had so many things to say but he also knew that he could not be the one to frighten the Princess.
Princess Eleanor was like a frightened cat who was pretending to be brave. He could see it clearly that even though the Princess showed that she was confident, her tears would prick at any time. At times her throat would tremble as if she was struggling. Sir Kit could also feel that Princess Eleanor was frightened to enter the study room alone. Although she did not say it, but her body language said it all.
"But the Princess has to promise me something.," Sir Kit raised his lips into a smirk. He was enjoying the feeling of power as he continued, "That soon when I give the dagger back to you, you will accept it without a word. Because remember you were the one who took it from me in the first place."
Princess Eleanor was silent. She could not understand what was happening at all. She bit her lips but soon she nodded her head in agreement. She knew that if she wanted to fulfill her wish she needed to agree to whatever Sir kit was offering her. There was no going back now and she knew that she had reached a point where she had to make some bold choices.
Sir Kit took the dagger as he kept it inside naturally. His eyes stayed focused on the Princess as he tilted his head softly. "Princess, are you in a hurry to go and search the study?" Sir Kit asked in a low tone. He wanted to know how desperate the Princess was.
Princess Eleanor swallowed hard but soon she nodded her head, "Yes, I am afraid that I would go to the Royal Palace soon."
And you donβt want to go there?" Sir Kit raised his eyebrows in question.
"Well," Princess Eleanor closed her eyes as she took a deep breath, "if I am given a chance I will never enter the Royal Palace but you know how things are," Princess Eleanor opened her eyes as she looked at the side, looking straight at Sir Kit. "But I feel like it wonβt be bad if Sir Kit accompanies me there."
Sir Kit laughed as if he had heard a joke, "I will be a little difficult," Sir Kit blinked but his body moved closer to the Princess, "But we can always work around it."
Princess Eleanor was silent as she nodded her head. Sir Kit was closer to her and she felt like her body had forgotten how to react. She was attracted to the man and she could not deny it. Even if Princess Eleanor had not seen Sir Kitβs face she could figure out that he was a very handsome man. Someone who attracted a lot of attention towards himself.
"This," Princess Eleanor brought herself to move away. She could not come up with a valid reason to stay away from her and her mind had long stopped working but soon she felt a soft touch on her cheeks.
Princess Eleanorβs body jolted as she looked up with wide eyes. Her gaze was staring straight at Sir Kit who smiled. "You are afraid,"
Princess Eleanorβs heartbeats were faster but she tried her best not to show it. She shook her head in denial as she swallowed hard.
Sir Kit ran his thumb over Princess Eleanorβs cheeks before moving back to his original position. "Princess, I am happy that you trust me. I really am, but I only hope that you would not be afraid of me. I want to be your support. The one you could lean on at your worst times."
Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes as she stared at Sir Kit before she nodded. "You are my support. And I trust you the most here. If it was not the case I would never have asked for your help."
Sir Kit observed Princess Eleanor as he nodded, "We will enter the study at night. I will come to pick you up. Wear something light."
