Transmigrated as a Third-Rate Villain in a Doomed Novel-Chapter 29: A New Quest? [I]
"I am not fucking doing it!"
"Oh, come on, just relax your body and do it. Here, just move your hand and hold—"
"No way in hell!"
"What’s the deal with you? It’s not like I am telling you to do something bad."
Elias shook his head.
"... Would you stop acting like a fucking disappointed alcoholic father?"
Evelyn retorted at his behavior, her annoyance reaching a crescendo.
"Just do it then."
"... I am not going to princess-carry you. No matter how many times you say it!"
Elias sighed at her annoyed dismissal, his eyes shifting towards the ground. The paved road looked quite low, as if looking down into an endless depth.
It was only 5 floors, by the way!
"... But I can always carry you—"
"Nope."
Elias was not going to be carried like a sack or something. No way, that seemed quite bad, no? Eh, who knows, but he wasn’t going to be treated like a sack or an object.
They had to go to the southeastern side of the Varen barony. That was where Elias had things to do.
Naturally, he couldn’t let his guards and the maid know, so he could not go out of the room like usual.
Then what?
Balcony. From where Evelyn had come, too.
However, Elias also had to make sure nobody could know that they were sneaking out. So, Evelyn naturally was going to be jumping like a frog from one place to another fast.
Elias had faith in her that she could sneak out without alerting anyone, as he knew how powerful she was. But still, he could not just let her carry him like a sack.
And he has another reason behind it.
"Stop wasting time, and let’s go," Evelyn said, shaking her head.
’I am going to be princess-carried by you. No matter how many times you say too.’
Elias turned, looking at Evelyn. The air blew, swaying his dark auburn hair.
"Stop looking at me like this," Evelyn snapped. "I am not doing it. No matter what."
"Aren’t you supposed to be soft-hearted?"
"...Wha???"
Evelyn’s eyes nearly popped out. What the fuck was this kid going on about now?
However, Elias didn’t stop. He continued.
"Not only did you slam my head against the bathroom door. But you also cut my neck," he said, his face totally blank as his fingers rubbed against his neck as if wounded deeply. "How could you do this to an innocent kid like me? Maybe yes, there may be something I did wrong, but going to this extent? And don’t even let me talk about what happened earlier—not only was I made fun of in the gambling house, but my own knights don’t even respect me now. And do you know why th—"
"Ok," Evelyn massaged her forehead. "Shut the fuck up now or I will really kill you."
"See, you are filled with violence—"
"I am going to princess-carry you, okay. Now stop whining like a stupid fucking kid."
Elias stopped.
’Heh, told you.’
"Do you even have a conscience? Acting all innocent while expecting me to do things for you while you are literally blackmailing me with the information about my brother," Evelyn said as she lifted him in a princess carry.
As Elias was lifted, his hands involuntarily moved, coiling around her neck. The warmth of her skin radiated as Elias felt it. Her heart and the pulse of the woman thudded against his skin as Evelyn moved, jumping from his room’s balcony.
Elias knew acting all serious one moment and acting like this the next moment would make Evelyn comment, and he wanted that.
Elias was still paranoid. No matter how much hold he had on others, the feeling of weakness was there. So, he wanted to solidify anything that he could think of so that no matter what happened, Evelyn would never think of doing something he didn’t want.
"I could tell you," Elias started as Evelyn landed in a silent alleyway, sneaking from people’s gazes.
Her eyes widened the second she registered his words.
"I can," Elias replied, nodding. "But you have to understand my side too, Evelyn. I know about you; I do. I even know that you will not do something to me until you are really sure that I am deserving of that."
Standing on his feet, he stared at the redhead.
The night was going on, and people were enjoying it. Their screams echoed, even filling the silence of the alleyway they were in like an echoing sound.
The city was in full mode.
In this moment, Elias glanced into the eyes of Evelyn. She was shorter than he was, but not by much. Where Elias was 6’3, Evelyn seemed to be about 6’1.
Staring into her eyes, Elias once more spoke.
"Even after knowing all of this. I still do not trust you. And this is the only reason I won’t tell you."
"Fair."
Evelyn said, shaking her head as she moved, crossing him. But Elias had not completed his words yet.
"If you think that my telling you late about your brother will put him in danger. Don’t worry because no matter how much you get late, the person you will meet will always be Aidan."
Evelyn stopped. Her head turned as she looked at the person.
The last bit of uncertainty that she had, that Elias did not really know where her brother was and maybe was bluffing, had already somewhat completely disappeared.
He knew about his family’s incident, which many did not!
Only she and the people behind the incident knew, and she was completely sure about that. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Elias being the culprit was never a thought in Evelyn’s mind. For why would he then want her help if he were the reason behind his family’s fall? This was not the only reason.
Elias was weak. No, he could not even use mana, and Evelyn had felt this the moment she met him. And if she were not sure, she became so the next moment when she touched him.
There was no presence of any artifact or item on his body either.
Still...
’How does he know about my family?’
The question was there. But she will know. Just as soon as all of this is completed, she will know.
And if Elias would not be able to answer. Evelyn’s fingers twitched.
’It’s a thing to worry about later. I have some lead at last.’
After years of searching, she couldn’t find anything. If the man in front of her did and wanted something in return. There was no reason for her to refuse, for she was going to get what she had been searching for years.
"Ok," Evelyn said, following which, her face once more became annoyed. "Are we done?"
"Yes."
"So, how about you tell me where we are going? Because I want to go and sleep as fast as possible."
"Ok," Elias said as he smiled.
"We are going somewhere that would give us a really huge amount of money," he stated as his face turned into a filthy, money-filled smile.
"We are going there for money?" Evelyn asked, annoyed, as she followed Elias, who moved through the alleyway.
"Well, there’s one more thing. But let us keep that a surprise."
"... Fucker."
"Did you say something?"
"Yeah, fucker. I said you are a fucker."
"Oh," Elias shook his head, disappointment marring his face. "Old women these days."
"I don’t know why, but your face looks so punchable to me right now."
"I am not into that." Elias retorted before excitedly pointing towards the slum area of the Cross barony. "We have reached the place!"
