The atmosphere suddenly felt tense with Ye Qingyi’s question. Yang Meiyi could suddenly feel their eyes, she was about to reply when she heard Fu Mingze’s voice saying "She works here as my secretary."
"What? But why?" Ye Qingyi asked in anger.
Fu Mingze frowned "Do I need your permission before hiring someone in my company."
"Of course not Mr. Fu, my daughter just spoke out of terms, right Ye Qingyi?" Mr. Ye said.
"No, I did not." Ye Qingyi said and looked at Fu Mingze "Are you serious right now? even after everything she did to you, you still gave her a job here? It’s so obvious that she came back because of your money, she must have spent all her inheritance and is here to deceive you into giving her more."
"Qingyi! Behave yourself." Mr Ye warned. He never thought this daughter of his would embarrass him in front of Fu Mingze and Fu group executives.
Instead of listening to her father’s warning, Ye Qingyi looked at Yang Meiyi and said "In all my life I have never seen someone as shameless as you."
"That’s enough Qingyi. Being my friend and doing business with your family, doesn’t give you the right to make a scene in my company or insult my employees. What’s wrong with you?" Fu Mingze scolded coldly.
"Mingze you..." This is the first time Fu Mingze has ever spoken to her like that, he has never scolded her before, and that too in public, but today he did it in front of his executives because of this girl. Ye Qingyi’s anger and dislike towards Yang Meiyi increased to the point she blurted out without thinking "If she stays here then the Ye Hospital will have no business dealings with the Fu group."
Yup! It has been concluded that the girl in front of her was crazy. It was a good thing she didn’t agree to meet, if not who knows what this crazy woman would have done to her. Yang Meiyi could see pure anger in Mr Ye’s face as he glanced at his daughter. He looked at Fu Mingze and said "Forgive my daughter’s foolishness, you grew up with her so you must know how bad-tempered she is."
"If the Ye hospital no longer wishes to continue with this deal then it’s alright. The Fu group does not need your hospital to enter that segment." Fu Mingze replied coldly.
"Mr Fu, let’s not be in a rush. Why don’t we reschedule this moment?"
Fu Mingze stood up and said, "There will be no need for that." He walked out of the conference room while Yang Meiyi followed him out.
Fu Mingze entered his office and immediately removed his suit jacket. He sat on the couch with his eyes closed when he heard Yang Meiyi asking "Are you alright?"
Without even opening his eyes, he said "Leave."
Ignoring his statement, Yang Meiyi walked towards him and placed her hand on his forehead which he immediately removed.
"You are burning up."
Fu Mingze opened his eyes to glare at her and said "Get out Meiyi."
"A secretary must take care of her boss." Yang Meiyi retorted.
"And as your boss, I’m asking you to get lost." Fu Mingze replied coldly.
Yang Meiyi walked closer and said "And as my husband."
"A title. The relationship of a husband and wife between us is nothing but a title. One that would end as soon as you sign the divorce papers, so you can leave." Fu Mingze harshly said.
Though his words stung her, Yang Meiyi refused to show it. She looked at his tired eyes and asked "When last did you sleep?"
"I could fire you right now."
"But you won’t, you are too exhausted for that. You can fire me when you regain your strength, so get up. I will take you home."
"There will be no need for that Yang Meiyi." A voice said behind her.
Yang Meiyi turned to see Bai Jian looking at her coldly, when did he even come in? She watched as Bai Jian walked closer to Fu Mingze and said "Why did you allow yourself to get this sick, now I can’t scold you."
Fu Mingze massaged his head and said "Just take me home. I don’t think I can drive." He collected his jacket and walked out, without even sparing Yang Meiyi a glance.
Bai Jian also walked out but not without giving her a look of disgust.
Yang Meiyi looked at the empty office and she steeled herself not to shed tears. Nothing good will come out of crying, she must do whatever it takes to win Fu Mingze’s trust again.
Just then Yang Meiyi’s phone rang, she forced herself to smile when she saw it was Ma Xin calling and answered "Are you at the airport?"
"Yes. When will you be here?"
"Just give me fifteen minutes, the airport isn’t that far from Fu group."
"Ok. I will be waiting."
Since Fu Mingze and Xia Lian weren’t around, Yang Meiyi could leave the company without asking anyone’s permission.
Within fifteen minutes, Yang Meiyi arrived at the airport and called Ma Xin but there was no answer. She was about to call again when she felt a hand on her shoulder from behind. Meiyi turned and saw Ma Xin looking at her with a smile, she immediately hugged her long-time friend and said "I miss you so much."
"I have missed you too, this time I came to Country M just for you so you have to take care of me."
"Of course I will. Let me help you with your luggage. You will stay at my place throughout your two-week vacation." Yang Meiyi said with a smile.
Holding Meiyi’s arm, Ma Xin smiled and said "Let’s go, we have so much to catch up on."
Yang Meiyi chuckled and nodded.

"This is my humble apartment." Yang Meiyi said as she kept Ma Xin’s luggage in a corner. "I have two slippers, you can use one."
"Thank you."
"Do you want a drink? Please tell me you want a drink." Yang Meiyi said already heading to the kitchen cabinet to collect a bottle of wine. She looked at the last bottle left in the cabinet and thought of buying more drinks later on. She collected two glasses and went to the living room, after pouring the wine into each glass, Meiyi noticed Ma Xin looking at her strangely and asked "What?"
"Isn’t it too early to drink?"
"It’s 2:30 pm, how is that early?" Yang Meiyi asked as she took a sip of her wine and sighed in satisfaction.
"Tell me what’s wrong."
Meiyi let out a deep sigh and said "He was sick today and even in that state he didn’t want me to get close to him, I knew he hated me but I never thought it would be to this extent. I don’t even know how he is doing.
"Then why don’t you call him?"
"I Can’t. I don’t have his number, he changed it. His secretaries and his executives all have his business number, I think in the Fu group, only Xia Lian has his personal number and he will never give it to me. Even his assistant hates my guts." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Ma Xin chuckled and said "You have gone soft. The Meiyi I know would have found a way to get that number at all costs but I’m not surprised, you are smart in other areas except for matters involving Fu Mingze. It’s as if you forget how to think."
Ma Xin reached forward to take the Yang Meiyi glass from her hand and said "Why don’t we talk without you drowning yourself in alcohol." She places the glass on the table "You working at his secretary won’t change a thing, what you need to do is seduce you and pursue him the way you did when you were seventeen but this time more aggressively especially because you now have a love rival."
"But he doesn’t want to see me, how can I seduce someone who doesn’t want to see my face."
"You said he is sick right? Instead of staying here drinking, why don’t you go to his house to take care of him, after all you are his wife."
"I don’t know where he stays. He no longer stays at Jiachen estate and he is not at the old mansion."
Ma Xin shook her head and sighed, "Why are you even his secretary if you don’t know where your boss stays." She took out her phone and called someone.
Yang Meiyi seeing her action asked, "Who are the calling?"
"Someone who will know where the richest man of Country M stays." Ma Xin replied and when the call went through she said "It’s me, Ma Xin, I know you are surprised that I am calling you but I need your help. I need you to send me the address of Fu Mingze and yes, I will buy you a meal. Thank you."
"Who was that?"
"My personal secret journalist in country M who knows everything." Ma Xin replied with a sly smile.
"And how do you know him?"
Ma Xin shrugged and said, "I may have slept with him once or twice when I came to Country M last year."
Yang Meiyi looked at her friend in disbelief and said "I never knew you were a wild one."
Ma Xin smiled and was about to reply when her phone vibrated. She waved her phone at Yang Meiyi and said "He sent it."
"Where does he live?" Yang Meiyi asked eagerly.
"Zhai Villa. Now that you have his address, I give you permission to go and seduce your man while I enjoy your wine all by myself." Ma Xin replied with a soft laugh.
Yang Meiyi smiled and suddenly hugged Ma Xin as she said "Thank you."
After the hug, Yang Meiyi took her small purse, finished the wine in her glass, and left for Fu Mingze’s address with one goal in mind, to take care of him and seduce him.
