After sleeping for five hours, Fu Mingze finally opened his eyes and noticed that he was feeling slightly better. His eyes went to the door and he wondered if she was still there or could it be that he was just imagining her, he had heard that fever sometimes causes hallucinations.

Feeling thirsty, he got up from the bed and went to the kitchen. He was surprised when he saw a pot on his gas, he opened the pot and saw that it contained chicken soup. Who made this? It wasn’t Bai Jian because he was sure that friend of his didn’t even know how to boil water. Could it be Xia Lian? His mind wanted to go to her name but he knew he hadn’t seen her or felt her, that it was just the fever messing with his brain, so even thinking that it could be her was definitely out of the question.

When he heard the door open, he was convinced that it was Xia Lian, he quickly went to the living room to confirm his thought and froze when he saw Yang Meiyi looking back at him.

After a few seconds, Fu Mingze finally found his voice and asked "What are you doing here? How did you even get in?"

Ignoring his questions, Yang Meiyi dropped the bags of groceries in her hand and rushed to him, she immediately placed a hand on his head and sighed in relief "I’m glad you are feeling better. I was scared when you kept sleeping for so long."

Just like he did before, Fu Mingze removed her hand from him aggressively and said "I don’t need you to pretend as if you care for me."

"I do care for you."

"How did you get in? Trespassing on private property is a serious offense and you could get arrested for that." Fu Mingze replied coldly.

"Are you saying you are going to arrest your wife?" Yang Meiyi asked in disbelief.

"My wife? I don’t think you even know the meaning of that word and besides we will no longer be married once you sign the divorce papers."

"I won’t sign the papers."

"Fine. I will just tell the judge that you had an affair during the time we were still married and have him grant us a divorce."

"What?"

"Does he know you are here, does your beloved Zhang Chun know that you are here with me?"

"It doesn’t matter because I don’t love Zhang Chun. I can explain what you saw."

"Truce. Let’s call today a truce, we don’t fight or argue." Yang Meiyi said. The truce was something they both came up with during the time of their marriage when they would end up arguing for too long.

"That will be for the best." Fu Mingze coldly replied.

Yang Meiyi forced a smile on her face and said "Since we are in the truce period, I made some chicken soup for you. I will heat it so that you can eat."

Fu Mingze nodded "I will go take a shower, I feel sweaty."

Yang Meiyi smiled sadly as she watched him leave and send a message to Ma Xin telling her that she won’t be home tonight until after tomorrow.

Ma Xin replied with a love emoji and a text that says [Have a lot of fun and don’t worry about me.]

Fifteen minutes later, Fu Mingze came downstairs and saw Yang Meiyi placing a bowl of soup on the dining table, without saying anything Fu Mingze sat on the table and said "Thank you." Before eating.

After seeing him taking a few bites, Yang Meiyi asked "Do you like it?"

"It’s manageable."

"I don’t need you to say it, i already know I’m a great cook." Yang Meiyi proudly said and got no reply.

Yang Meiyi suddenly stood and headed towards the kitchen and within two minutes she came back with three cans of beer and passed one to Fu Mingze asking "Do you want one?"

Fu Mingze looked at her with a frown and asked "Where did you get those?"

"I saw no drink in your fridge or anywhere else so, when I went to the market to fill your empty fridge I also decided to get myself a drink."

"Are you going to drink all three?" Fu Mingze asked with a deep frown while looking at the beers.

Yang Meiyi shrugged as she said, "I did ask if you wanted one."

"No thanks." Fu Mingze immediately said.

Even after eating Fu Mingze still sat on the table, he watched as Yang Meiyi finished both the first and second can of beers, she was about to open the third can of beer when he stated "You are becoming an alcoholic."

Yang Meiyi chuckled and said, "Drinking three cans of beer doesn’t make you an alcoholic."

Fu Mingze scoffed and asked, "Did you think I didn’t smell the alcohol on your breath whenever we spoke or when you sneaked is into my room this afternoon?"

"Still doesn’t mean I am an alcoholic." Yang Meiyi said as she drank a mouthful of beer.

"Has a day ever passed without you drinking?" Fu Mingze asked with a raise brow.

Yang Meiyi placed the can of beer on the table as she suddenly laughed saying "I guess I am an alcoholic after all, cheers to that."

Fu Mingze sighed and said "You called a truce, so let’s talk. What happened to us two years ago? What happened to you while you were in the state?"
