Yang Meiyi woke up with a headache, one that she has gotten used to. She could still remember Fu Mingze asking her if she was an alcoholic and although she had never really thought about it but perhaps she was walking the alcoholic path, the only problem was, she wasn’t sure if she could stop because drinking helped to calm her and make her think properly.
There was a gentle knock on the door and before she could tell the person to come in, the door opened revealing a nicely dressed Fu Mingze, he stared at her for a few seconds before saying "Go take a shower and dressed appropriately."
"Apart from the clothes on me, I don’t have another. Are we going out?"
"Did all the alcohol you took yesterday entered your brain? Today is Aunt Sang Xiu’s death anniversary and as for your clothes, I will ask Xia Lian to buy you a dress." Fu Mingze said and left.
How could she forget? Today was her mother’s death anniversary and also the end of their truce, after today he will go back to hating her and she will focus on her revenge and building her mom’s resort. If everything goes well and Fu Mingze is happy without her then perhaps she will sign the divorce and go back to the US.
With a sigh, Yang Meiyi got up from her bed and went to the bathroom to take a bath. She came out of the bathroom after twenty minutes and saw a yellow dress placed on her bed.

Fu Mingze looked up from his phone when he heard light footsteps coming down the stairs, he was glad the dress suited her, stopping just a little below her knee. He must admit she looked beautiful, to him she had always been beautiful. Even with her hair tied in a ponytail and without makeup, she was still the most beautiful woman he had ever set his eyes on.
Fu Mingze kept his phone in his pocket as she walked closer and coldly said "Let’s go."
After driving for forty minutes in silence, Fu Mingze stopped his car at a graveyard, he gave the flowers he had bought on the way to Yang Meiyi and stood as he watched her walk to her mother’s grave. He wanted to go with her but he knew she needed to talk to her mother alone. He stood there for twenty minutes and watched as she spoke to her mother, he watched as she cleaned her tears before standing up and walking back to him.
"Can....can I hug you?" Yang Meiyi asked with teary eyes.
Without answering her question, Fu Mingze walked forward and hugged her tightly. Even as she burst into tears in his arms, he didn’t let go of her, not even once. He held her as she cried her eyes out and only when she asked him to, did he let go.
Fu Mingze gently cleaned her tears and said "Wait for me in the car, it will only be for a few minutes."
Yang Meiyi nodded and entered the car, she watched Fu Mingze going to her mother’s grave through the side mirror and wondered what he would say to her.
Fu Mingze picked a flower from the bouquet Yang Meiyi had placed on her mother’s grave and said "That heartless daughter of yours has come back after two years, she is different right? And I’m not just talking about her look but her personality, her aura, her way of doing things, and her new habit of getting drunk. My heart aches because I couldn’t protect her innocence, I couldn’t fulfill the promise I made to you. She told me she was forced, forced to leave me, forced to say she didn’t love me and I wanted to believe her but a part of me still remembers how she ended everything, but I will find out the truth and make everything right again. I can’t give Meiyi innocence back to her but whether we end up together or not, I will always take care of her." He placed the flower on Sang Xiu’s grave and said "Don’t worry about her drinking habit, I will find a way to get rid of it, even if I have to send her to rehab."
Fu Mingze stood up and went back to the car, he noticed Yang Meiyi’s questioning gaze and asked "What?"
"Why do I have this feeling that you badmouthed me in front of my mother." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Fu Mingze scoffed as he put on his seatbelt and said "You only have this feeling because you feel guilty."
"I don’t feel guilty about anything." Yang Meiyi replied.
Fu Mingze started the car when he saw her fidgeting with her fingers and asked "What’s wrong?"
"Can we stop at a beach, I would like to breathe in the smell of the seawater." Yang Meiyi asked with a soft voice.
Fu Mingze nodded but wondered why her cheek became red just from wanting to breathe in seawater.

Gu Zhen opened the door to his apartment and was surprised to see Nie Yujie sleeping on his couch. What was she doing here? How did she even get in?
He walked forward to wake her up but stopped before his hand could touch her, he watched the rising and falling of her chest which signified her breathing and his eyes went to her face. His hands which were supposed to wake her up, went to her face and he found himself tracing her cheek.
Gu Zhen immediately removed his hands when he saw her eyes flutter and rushed to the kitchen. He took out a bottle of water from the fridge and drank the entire water in it before letting out a deep breath. He could not believe what he had just done, he was wondering what her lips tasted like. Has he fallen for Nie Yujie? But how? His heart has always belonged to Yang Jia, he knows he loves Yang Jia, so why does he feel this way for another woman, a woman who has been forced on him by his family?
