Triple X System-Chapter 177: Reverse
Gritting his teeth, he mustered the strength to yank the staff from lynn’s clutches. Immediately deactivating demonic astral projection skill before lynn could react.
His consciousness dissolving into particles of light floating back to his body.
Am back.. his eyes shone open seeing he was now back in his body. The wooden staff still in his grasp. Attempting to stand his body immediately went stiff controlled by an external force.
I don’t know how you did that but you’ve gotten my full attention. Lynn growled lifting kyle up in the air a bit. Squeezing her hand, the pressure around him tightened getting thinner by the second.
The cells in his body vibrating surging faster like they were about to explode any minute now. Blood leaking out from his ears and nostrils like a damaged pipe.
Crack! His once defiant bones cracked to the sheer power crushing them. Shrinking the nutrients in his skin rapidly. Leaving them shriveled and void of life.
Mhm! Lumia yelled under the piece of fabric tied around her mouth but only let out a muffle. Unable to retaliate bounded by the purple chains restricting her movements.
So, this is the power of space manipulation. It was a terrifying ability no doubt. One no human should ever possess as its capabilities were just unpredictable.
Swoosh!
Just when he thought his head was about to pop, an object cut through the air. Heading fast for lynn making her cancel her attacks. Redirecting her hand towards the dark spear like object. Manipulating the space around her to erect up a wall of defense.
Thud! Feeling the pressure suddenly vanish his body fell to the ground. But was caught by the abominable entity which were his parents.
Thanks guys. A reassuring smile washed over his face relieved to see them alive. Dropping him to the ground the creature let out a dominant roar stretching across the land.
A murderous intent plastered on its already horrid face shooting straight for lynn.
Argh! Just die already! Lynn yelled placing her hand to the ground about to activate yet another skill.
What the- instinctively taking a leap from spot several spiked spears erupted from the ground where she once stood.
Feeling the air suddenly shift besides her she raised her hand glowing purple. Just in time to block a wild claw swung at her head.
Bam! Her body was sent skidding back for the first time. The mimics claw taking a hit on her, but it wasn’t over yet.
Roar!!
Attempting to flee her legs were stuck. Looking down several black vine-like roots sprouted from the ground constricting her movements.
Space dome. A small oval patterned dome materialized at her command. Encasing her body. The unholy entity smashed into her like a small explosion.
Sending up clouds of dust into the air with a wave of derbies flying everywhere.
Clang! Clang!
Sounds of metal colliding against an object resounded in this submerged geo planet. The entity massive claws furiously slashing down on lynn’s erected safeguards. Sending sparks of flames to the side every time it clashed.
She’s too strong. Separated from the staff she couldn’t draw power from it anymore without being in direct contact. But her unmanning abilities were still trouble to deal with.
How do I get rid of this? He asked his system for help.
He’d tried smashing the orb to the ground, even punching it. But no little as a scratch was visible on it despite his efforts.
[the readings am getting from that orb is off the charts. Most likely to be a condensed form of unidentified energy which must’ve been termed lost. Though there is no possible way to destroy energy, there is a way to harness it.]
Harness. You mean absorb into my body? Isn’t that a little drastic? I mean we still don’t know what this energy is, if it’s good or bad. Absorbing energy was considered great but there were many consequences as well as rewards surrounding it.
Luckily he possessed mana steal, a skill that enabled him to steal mana from other individuals. Though it was a trump card it was limited to the amount of mana his body could absorb. And there was also the possibility of failure on several attempts.
[it’s not mana so Imana steal would be ineffective. You’ll have to absorb by inserting some of your energy, the old-fashioned way.] snow interrupted with a bit of haste.
[I have taken all those possibilities into account and while it’s not a reasonable choice its still one nevertheless. Think about it. If this energy was dangerous then she wouldn’t have clung to it like a leach.]
[sure, it might be a little corruptive and can damage one’s sense of reasoning if exposed too much. Which am hinting is what happened to psycho princes over there. But you’ll just be absorbing a fraction against her, who’ve probably had more than her body limit.]
Listening to her he didn’t want to admit it but snow had a point.
Why do you always have to be a geek. He sarcastically said earning a scoff from snow. Raising the staff, he was just about activating mana steal but suddenly felt his blood run cold.
Nice try.. the figure softly whispered making his eyes widen. Looking ahead lynn’s body faded into particles of light dissipating along with the purple barrier.
You’re not the only one with tricks up your sleeve. She grinned shoving her hand directly into his chest, where his heart region was. Wanting to move he couldn’t, pinned down by a greater force.
Not hesitating to squeeze on it crushing it like a pulp, kyle coughing up a mouthful of fresh blood. Tossing him to the side, she crouched down to pick the staff but paused. Feeling something wasn’t right.
That was too easy. Glancing at kyle’s dead body it had taken a completely different form. One she was now accustomed to, that of the mimic. Even the staff was now completely black, dissolving into goo.
It can clone itself. Disbelief mixed with anger flickered in her eyes seeing the nasty grin tugging at the creature’s lip.
Bam!
Without warning a spike protruded from the ground directed to her skull. Tilting her head, a bit to the side she narrowly avoided death. But more soon erupted from the ground, forcing her to take another leap back.
I can’t focus like this.. her skills required concentration to optimize its full potentials along with a subsequent output of mana. Possessing the two it was certainly frustrating to concentrate having to dodge lethal blows from creatures that wants you dead.
I can’t sense his aura, but he’s close. She could tell kye was still in the wastelands as there was no escaping without her knowledge. But for some reason she couldn’t detect his aura like before.
That was close. He sighed wiping off some beads of sweat. During his fall the black monster had caught him midair, it’s back turned against lynn. Tossing him to a nearby rock while lynn was preoccupied with the barrage of the mimic’s spike.
Creating a clone made from the special black goo in resemblance of him. Materializing a perfect clone for kyle to avert lynn’s attention.
Ill be exposing my aura the moment I try to insert my energy into the orb. But I should be fine, as long as am quick enough. Clearing the negative thoughts, he steadied his breathing calming his nerves.
Closing his eyes, he focused his senses reaching out to his demon core.
[this is just a theory but demon energy has a high tendency to infiltrate other energies due to its corruptive state. But this all depends on the host itself] snow inwardly explained stating the most likely successor in this case.
At first there was absolute darkness but looking closer he could see it a dark flame burning faintly with a shade of black and red engulfed in what looked like a tennis sized crystal ball.
Reaching out the flame burned more fiercer giving out a warning not too advance.
Why is I rejecting me? It was unusual for an individual to face rejection from his core. Mainly being they were already bonded as equivalent life partners.
[its trying to evolve. Your will is lower than the required amount used to control it before so it’s spiraling out of control. You have to tame it.] snow’s word echoed in his head like a warning that needed urgent attention.
Taking in low breaths he struggled to tame the wild fire burning in him. Using the recently unlocked blue energy which was mana. Shaping it into a soothing flow of water.
Burning more brightly it corrupted some of the mana adding to its energy pool. But kyle didn’t falter persevering in his endeavors.
[ding! You have successfully balanced your demon core!]
[host body is now more adaptive to demon energy..]
The familiar ding sound from the system resounded in his mind.
i-i did it~ a light smile formed to his lips knowing he’d achieved one of his goals. Not resting he directed the demon energy through his veins to his palm.
Here goes nothing. Taking a deep breath he placed his palm to the orb, slowly inserting his demon energy.
It didn’t react? Unlike what he had anticipated the purple orb showed no hostility or reaction towards him. Maintain an unsettling neutral reaction to his touch.
It doesn’t make any sense. There has to be- his words were cut short seeing the system notification pop up in his view.
[error in absorbing foreign energy..]
[reverse effects have been applied!]
