Triple X System-Chapter 200: Doomed
’Boom! Boom!’
Multiple explosions could be heard in a giant oval, egg shaped like building. The once calm and serene landscape, was now in chaos. With multiple explosions erupting in sections frequently.
"Let’s go." Kyle softly said, to which falcin nodded.
Heading out the control station, they slammed the door shut. The automatic mechanism kicking in, seeling it locked. With his parents still unconscious, this was the best spot he could think of keeping them for the meantime.
Refraining from using the lift they opted for the steps. Mainly because access to the lift required a special pass. Which was the platinum card lisa had been using, which was out of their possession.
And not only was the steps faster, but more trustworthy. In terms of a sudden ambush by the dargon’s.
’They’re really gooing at it huh?’ Kyle could hear the sounds of beam cannons and explosions going off.
Indicating the fierce battle ahead, despite being a bit far from the first section.
Slightly shaking his head, he needed to focus and reach the logistics bay. Luckily there was no fighting sounds heard here.
The once vibrant room filled with people was now somewhat desolete. Leaving only the melancholic machinery whirring and clangs from lifting the crates.
Recalling his path, he easily navigated his way towards the east section. Locating the logistics bay, the green mech suits in sight.
’There’s only two?’
When he passed, he remembered seeing these two mech suits active. But he’d guessed they were just more than these two.
’Maybe they are in use.’ He shrugged, not thinking much about it.
If they could create a fully functional teleportation pad, then some mere mech suits couldn’t possibly be a challenge?
"Woah! What us it?" Falcon eyes were filled with envy and admiration staring at the mech suits.
Earning a light chuckle from kyles, nit expecting this from her. During their first encounter in vaanderwood, she had a deadpan face. But after the past events she underwent a personality change.
"It’s a mech suit, designed for heavy cargo lifting and transportation." Kyle explained, making her nod in acknowledgement.
Her two emerald eyes fixated on the green mech suit with a wide grin.
"Creepy." Kyle interjected but she paid him no heed. Making her way up into the mech suit, through the small platform like ladder besides it.
Kyle following suit to the second mech suit. The platforn stopped just at the back of the mech chest area. A cut out box sized bunker hatch could be seen. Along with a metal handle at it’s center.
Tugging on the handle, it was unexpectedly stronger than he’d expected. Adding more strength he was able to twist it open. Showcasing a comfortable sleek sofa like chair. Like the one’s used by gamers, with a 360° degree spin ratio.
Offering not only comfort, but a swift escape if ever caught in a precarious position.
’The door handle on the inside is much eaier to handle than the one outside.’ He thought.
Pulling on the inner handle, whuch bent to his will with ease. Which was a bit strange, consider both handles were made from the same linder matal present here.
[It’s probably due to qualitative efficiency than quantity. As these are transporting mechs, with mana stones as their core. So some accidents are bound to occur from time to time.] Snow explained.
Entering the mech suit, he slid perfectly into the sleek rotating chair. It was really comfortable upon first cintact, earning a soft grunt from him. But there was another problem.
"How do i stop spinning?" Kyle frowned, unable to control his spinning chair. Resulting in some mocking laighs from snow.
"Sighs~ i did it." He lightly sighed, finally getting the hang of it. After some multiple tries.
In his front were a series of buttons and controls. Just like the ones at the control station, but having a sleek optimized modern design.
’How do they pilot this thing?’
At first glance it looked way easy on the outside seeing the guards pilot the mech suit. Even lied to by his system it was just like riding a bike.
[I meant riding a bike for me dimwit, you’re hopeless.] Snow spoke with a condescending tone. Purposively toying with Kyle’s feelings more.
Ignoring her taunts he then asked for her help in operating this far advanced machinery. As he was no doubt clueless and out of his control.
[Ha.. what will i ever do with you?]
’Marry me?’
[You wish pervert!] Sniw yelled like an innocent little child. Making cute light pout noises.
Urging him to place his hand to the terminal, which he did. There was nothing at first, but after some few seconds he could feel it. Like a faint spark if some sort, lighting up in his chest.
Getting more brighter, into a more vivid light. He could somehow understand the machine, like it had a life of it’s own. The controls felt so clear, like a long lost memory being recalled.
Data’s from flight navigation to core management. Down to maintainance and efficient utilization were all downloaded into his mind.
’Woah! What dud you do?’ Kyle exclaimed a bit, feeling the data coursing through his head. It was like he was a completely different person.
[Oh nothing.. i just linked you and the mech suit by connecting your neuro stems directly into it’s system integration interface.] Snow casually spoke like it was nothing.
But listening to her he knew what she’d just achieved, was by no means small. Literally pulling off symbiosis with man and machine wasn’t yet perfected on earth.
And he’d guessed even here are there wasn’t a neurolink present here. But snow had managed to do that within 30 seconds?
[Please, you flatter me a lot with your praises of adoration my naive student.] Snow coetishly spoke in a wise tone.
’Yup, and.. you’ve ruined it.’ Kyle sarcastically said earning a cutse from snow.
Moving his arms, he could feel the connection with the mech suit. Ever so passaive, like an extension of his body following along his set of commands.
Next he tried walking about 2 steps forward. It was a lot more difficult than moving his hand. But he got the hang of it after two tries. Moving 2 steps forward, the big metal feet making clang spunds as he moved.
’I could get used to this.’ A sly grin appeared to Kyle’s face. Enjoying the sensation of piloting one the legendary mech suits he’d read in fantasy novels.
[Tsk! Showoff.] Snow clicked her imaginary tongue in disdain.
[If you’re done goofing around can we get back to present matters at hand!?] She inwardly yelled, snapping him from his fun.
’Has anyone ever told you you’re a party pooper?’
[Wait, let me check.. No!]
Sighing Kyle shrugged in defeat, not being able to win an argument against his innocent system.
"What about falcon? Can you do the thing with her also?"
Just like him, falcon was also clueless at operating a mech suit. Her engine lying idle in wait, yet to be activated.
[Of course. Just place your mech hand to her cores which is located at the top of the mech armour and i can communicate with the system.]
Steadily walking to falcon, he activated the transmitting device in the mech suit. Directly communicating with her.
"Falcon do you read me? Are you there?" Kyle relayed making the fox woman’s eye widen a bit.
"God?" She lightly uttered .
[Idiots. I’m surrounded by idiots.] Snow uttered, sacarsm lacing her tone. And kyle could imagine her face slapping her imaginary head.
"Err.. no, it’s kyle."
"Master? I thought i lost you?*
*Nope. I was literally right besides you. Anyways.. that doesn’t matter now. I’m about to share something with you on how to fully operate this thing. Are you ready?"
Nodding, kyle then placed his hand on top her mech head. Snow going to work, as the mech engine roared to life.
"Woah!" Falcon ecstatically exclaimed, like a child receiving a new present. "It’s like I’m literally one with the suit. What did you do?" She asked dumbfounded, how Kyle peeformed such.
"I’ll explain later, right now we kick some beast butts. No offense."
"None taken."
.....
Back at the fuest section of the manufacturing/loading bay. The once proud smirk of the space guards dwindled into something more horrific.
The golden done enxompassing them, preventing them from direct assualt was now faltering. It’s previous golden light growing dim, with several deep crack lines spreading along it.
’Damnit! What’s with this dargon’s deal.’ Reze gritted her teeth, silently seething in rage.
There was nothing her nor the other guards could do, except fire at the dargon. Hoping for a miracle. Despite being at peak first rank evolution, many of the population in Lumia kingdom were without abilities.
She, being among that percentage of individuals.
’Bam!’
The dargon’s fist collided with the golden dome. Caysing the gyards to shriek a bit in dispair, watching their life flash before their eyes.
The humanoid beast had a smug grin etched to it’s face. Savouring this sight, by not exerting it’s full strength.
’Crack!’
The Golden dome barrier cracked more, the lines spread all over it. Just like it was going to give oyt any moment now.
’We’re doomed.’ She didn’t want to accept it but there was nothing she could do.
