Chapter 205: Warning signal

Listening to wheeler, he had his usual poker face when he spoke. But liss could sense the urgency in his tone.

"While the king is powerful we are still clueless on the enemies true motives." She said adjusting the few strands of hair blocking her sight back. Wrapping it in a ponytail.

"For now we assume they’re trying to reach the teleporting pad. But there are probably more obscene agenda’s."

And idea popped up in mind, thinking of what possible valuables lumia could possess intriguing them.

As beasts their nature wasn’t attracted to wealth but power. Basically anything that could strength their core, hence forcing an evolution. Taking them to their next path.

’Could they prehaps be after the mana stones?’ It was a solid theory, considering that was the primary source of energy. Required for a living being evolution.

’But why didn’t they just teleport here, or arrive in a smaller stealth cargo than causing this much chaos?’ Lisa thought finding the whole thing fishy.

She’d determined the reason they didn’t teleport here in the first place. Was because they lacked a teleportation device.

Hence resulting in attempting to confiscate lumia’s teleporting pad for transporting the mana stones to their home planet.

’What’s she doing?’ Wheeler wondered, maintaing his usual expression.

He could see Lisa, prancing back and forth in her steps. Muttering some inaudible words to herself.

Surpressing his building rafe, he refrained from questioning her. Only gritting his teeth in frustration.

’I get that they planned to keep the whole kingdom busy but why do i feel like there’s a bigger picture here.’ She thought her face going pale the next second, as an idea popped up in mind.

"Oh no~ A light gasp escaped Lisa’s mouth.

"What is it?" Aurora asked, beating wheeler to speak. Which resulted in a killing intent glare, directed at her.

"They’re not just trying to steal the mana stones with the teleporting pad. They plan to eliminate the king." Lisa hurriedly uttered, making wheeler frown more.

"Though i respect your theories princes, i highly diubt that. King troy isn’t called the strongest dual ability user for nothing."

While he had a gut feeling troy was in trouble, it wasn’t meant to be life threatening. Not imagining anyone who could kill such overpowered monster.

Slightly frowning; "Think of it luitenant. Why did they strike now if all times? The sudden arrival of Lynn, the destruction of half the castle? Doesn’t it all seem a little coincedental to you?"

Lisa reasoned, causing wheeler to inwardly curse his naivety.

Sure troy was cold and powerful individual, with the possesion of two abilities. Making him a more intimidating figure of death. But he was also human, with the perks and cons of mortality.

Making him subject to fatigue and the disadvantages of bone and flesh. So with the current events he was definitely not a hundred percent.

Even submitting to a coma for about 2 years until he woke. Only to be be presented with an attempted murder, by his rumored daughter.

"I have to go now. If the leader of these beasts is currently going toe to toe with the king. There’s a possibility something might go wrong, and if that happens—" She paused staring them dead blank in the eyes.

"Lumia kingdom falls with him."

Her words were heavy carrying the weight of truth in it. There was no doubt about it, lumia enjoyed protection snd peace because of troy.

Yes most condemned his way unorthodox and inhumane. He fufilled his role as king, ensuring the bountiful flourishing of his kingdom. Safe from invasions and attacks.

Calmly walking towards the exit of the transportation/teleportation bay. She stopped turning back one last time.

"I’ll leave the teleportation bay and the survivors in your hands luitenant. Protect them with your life." With that she wrapped the whips around both edges of the rememant from the lindar doors. Propelling herself like a catapult.

’Survivors?’ Wheeler wondered what she meant. Already meeting up with reze and the remaining survivors.

"Your aura is acting up like crazy. I didn’t expect the all mighty luitenant to be scared" Aurora’s voice snapped him from his thoughts.

"W—what did you just say?" Wheeler clenched his teeth, turning round to face the blind red haired.

"Scared? Your aura’s acting up because your scared." Aurora repeated with a neutral face.

’Weird.. His aura is different just like that demon and the cold king.’ She thought watching the silver glow, her vision emitted of wheeler distort rapidly.

Transforming his sickles bsck to fists, he closed the distance between him than Aurora. The latter remaining unfazed with a balanced stance.

"Say that one more time, i dare you ~" Wheeler whispered to her eyes, with a low snarl.

’Huh? I didn’t expect him to get mad at my observation.’

Like a visual field of colours, she could see people judging from their aura. And also determine their state of emotions by the shift in colour patteens.

"Growl~"

A soft growl reach both their ears, making them turn in the direction. There in front where several dark green skinned dargons with a few missing limbs.

"Looks like miss lisa left unfinished business." A suck smile crept to the luitenant’s lips. Seeing nothing more but preys to slaughter.

"Pervert!" Aurora commented, causing wheeler to inwardly grit his teeth. Deciding to teach her a lesson later.

Not running he simply walked over to the dargon’s location. Their numbers were slightly much, reaching about 20 ir mire if he counted.

But they were all at odds with a disfigured body, giving him the advantage.

Enraged by Wheeler’s mocking smirk, the dargon’s advanced. Some limping on a foot, while others crawled like mytated zombies. Missing their lower half, dragging their guts across the ground. Painting the floors green, with theur blood. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Disgusting." Wheeler spat with an irritated glare. His eyes flashed a deadly mix of resent and digust towards the dargons.

"Roar!"

Reaching him the first dargon was missing it’s left arm and leg. Standing on the right leg, swiping it’s green claws at him. Shaking his head a bit he caught the arm. Adding strength to his hand, sqeezing tightly to the beast wrist.

"Growl!"

It growled in pain feeling it’s wrist being crushed by this strange human. Using it’s elongated moyth it tried biting off Wheeler’s head. But the latter sidestepped, avoiding the chomp.

"Now you’ve pissed me off." Wheeler coldly spoke, his left fist tightly clenched. Punching upwards without restraint, completely severing the beast head.

Sending it flying some feets in the sir, tumbling back downwards.

Switching from walking he increased his speed to an average human running. Planning to end this mass killing swiftly.

’Thud! Thud! Thud!’

Various gunshot sounds went off as Wheeler’s fist collided with a dargon body. Gripping it in place from skidding back, using the momentum to deliver another strike.

"Weird, why did they suddenly become this weak?" Aurora muttered, reading the dargon’s auras emitting a faint glow green. That looked to be extinguished any moment now.

She could tell they’d lost some limbs, from the incomplete formatation of their bodies. With the green light stopping at specific spots.

But still, it didn’t justify their sudden weakness. As they were not only slower, barley above a non ability human. But also weaker and attacking without any intelligence in their coordination.

Taking an shooting stance, a red bow made out of nothing but red flames materialized. Grabbing it she aimed it at a dargon, with both legs missing an arm. Closing in on wheeler from the side.

Drawing the fire string, the previous fire arrow materialized in her grip. Releasing it without thinking twice.

’Swoosh! Bam!’

The arrow cut through the air, moving fast with astonishing speed. Briefly turning the air it passed instantly hot, meeting it’s mark

Groaning, the dargon winced in pain, the arrow tearing a hole to it’s chest. With deep charred black spreading to it’s green scale.

’Just like i suspected. Something’s definitely off.’ She just couldn’t place her hands on the missing piece.

But one thing was for sure.. The blazing arrow she shot just now was constructed from very little amount of mana. The smallest she’d ever used before, not capable of destroying a car.

Not to mention the dargon’s almost impenetrable hide from earlier. Which further soldified her theory of something fishy.

"So it’s just the 7 if you huh?" Wheeler calmly said, advaing to the creatures. They had their heads lowered, shaking in a distorted motion.

’What’s with this?’ Wheeler frowned.

He could still sense their aura’s were way weaker than his. Barely without any life in them, which made him wonder if they were dying?

’No~ only when the body perishes so does the aura.’ He thought, vividly hearing the rhythmic beating of their hearts.

"Nice trick cowards, but you’re still going to die!"

Stomping hid legs, he shot out like a cinnon. Closing the distance between them in a flash, his fist colliding with the first dargon’s skull.

’Pop!’

A pop sound was heard along with the thudding of it’s body. Using the momentum he reached the next two dargons. Slamming their head together, mashing it into a bloody pulp.

"Three more to go." He muttered, closing in on the next dargon.

"Stop! Something’s wrong!" Aurora yelled sensing a warning signal, gaining his attention.

’What the hell is she yelling about?’ Wheeler frowned, shrugging his shoulders. Not stopping in his run.

Reaching the beast he attempted a wide jab at it’s head.

"What the-"

His blood suddenly ran cold watching the beast abruptly raise it’s head. Leaning back a bit avoiding his attck, shoving it’s right hand forward to wheelers gut.

"Phough! H—how?" Wheeler’s eyes widened in shock feeling the beast hand potruding out the back of his gut.
