Chapter 206: Borrowed time

’It’s aura is shifting.’ Aurora thought silently, watching the fight.

She could tell wheeler was strong, not on the same level with troy. But strong nevertheless, and so was the dargon’s.

Possessing an immense amount of power in such huge build.

"Damnit." Wheeler gritted his teeth, groaning in pain. Never for once in his life has he been made a fool out off by anyone. Even going head to head with ona, allegedly stronger than him. But now, a lowlife beast had not only managed to shatter his ego. Also piercing through his silver exoskeleton skin armour. Digging into his guts, potruding out the back.

’It’s aura is more freaky than that kid from earlier.’ He thought recalling the fight between kyle and troy.

Gripping the dargon’s hand, he squeezed down hard on it. Attempting to crush it like before.

’How the hell is it’s skin this tough!?’ Wheeler gritted his teeth, unable to achieve his goal.

It was like he was squeezing at a much stronger steel arm than his adamantium steel form. Making the grin on the dargon’s face grow more wide.

"Screw you beast." Sending out his right arm in a clenched fist. It was fast and unexpected perfect for a sneak attack against this beast.

’Bam!’

A small collision sound was generated as two objects collided together. The dargon still standing in place, it’s left arm in wheeler’s gut. While it’s right completely stopping the latter’s strike.

"Impossible ~" He muttered with wide eyes not believing what just transpired.

There was no holding back in terms of strength between these two titans. And wheeler was well aware, knowing what he was up against.

A beast, not like the other typical one’s evolved from mana. But a humanoid type that seemed more like a failed experiment than a beast kin.

"Growl."

The dargon softly growled with a condescending glare. Opening it’s wide elongated mouth, ready to bite down to Wheeler’s head.

"He’s going to die." There was no doubt about it. Like dancing visuals of colurs, she could see the dargon’s aura. Now burning in a bright green. More vivid than before.

"Sighs.. i knew it would come down to this." Slightly shaking her head she materialized the fiery red bow once more. Pulling tightly at it’s string, the flaminng red arrow materialized in sight.

Much darker in red than the other red flame arrows she produced.

’I can only do this for at least 10 times maximum before i loose consciousness.’ She thought with a light frown, directed at Wheeler’s unwise decision.

As a luitenant, she had a brief idea how strong he was before sensing his aura. Knowing troy, he wouldn’t settle for less. So it was no doubt wheeler was just as skillful as he looked.

Reaching the maximum length she could draw the string, the arrow burned more fiercer. Sparks of flames flying from it’s sides, heating the temperature a considerable amount high.

’Swoosh!’

Like a built in force was released the arrow shot with terrifying speed. Cutting through the air, making bang noises as it moved. Reaching it’s mark in no time to the dargon’s head.

Just as it was inches from the creature’s head, it did something unexpected. Barely tilting it’s head in time, before the arrow crashed into it’s skull.

"I—it dodged?" Aurora’s eye widened clearing seeing her shooting star arrow missed the dargon.

Impacting collision instead to the ground, some few meters away from the duo.

’Boom!’

An explosion occured, with the collision of the shooting star arrow. Creating a small crater, going down about 3 feets into the ground. Generating a thick cloud of black mushroom smoke.

"Now’s my chance." Seeing the dargon’s attention was reflected from that arrow, he took advantage. Mustering all the strength he could produced, making his steel muscles buldge more.

’Bam! Bam!’

Not delaying he landed them at the dargon’s chest. Creating huge gusts of wind from the shockwave generated. Pushing his body back some considerable safe distance from the beast.

"Luckily it worked either ways." A light sigh escaped Aurora’s lip, relieved her plan worked.

When she fired shooting star, she wasn’t aiming to kill the dargon. Sure, that would be great, but the main reason she fired was to distract it.

Just enough to get it upset, triggering it’s temper as a beast to cloud it’s reasoning. Thereby causing even the slightest chance for wheeler to escape.

"As much as i don’t like you, your strength and ability are no doubt effective against it. So I’ll do everything in my power to keep you from dying." Aurora relayed to which wheeler slightly nodded.

’As much as I’d hate to say this, she’s right. My ability has been in use since over an hour now and with my current state. I doubt it wouldn’t be long until i revert back to normal.’ He could tell he was running on borrowed time, not long before his mana pool was dried out.

Controlling the silver liquid on his body, they liquified. Heading towards the big fist sized hole in his gut. Closing the gap within seconds, solidifying to form a solid silver structure.

’Air fists doesn’t cost much damage to it’s new hardened skin. So i guess I’ll have to switch to the sickles.’ He concluded determining they’d be much effective against the dargon’s scales.

Having a much sharper edge and covering a longer distance than his mere fists. Excluding the sharp lines of wind blades he could produce from Air slash.

Growling in rage, the dargon abruptly lowered it’s head. Stopping wheeler from advancing, careful not to run into a tap like last time.

’Is it getting stronger again?’ The dargon’s aura didn’t flunctuate, or weaken like last time. Making it hard for her to tell what it was doing.

’I can’t miss this opportunity.’ Tugging the string back, the shooting star arrow materialized in her bow. Raising the temperature surrounding her to considering heights.

Not delaying she released the arrow, shooting fast with blinding speed. Just like a falling star, descending from the skies.

Unfazed at the sudden elevation of heat approaching. The dargon didn’t attempt to dodge or block, standing in place.

’Bang!!’

A gunshot sound was made, as the dargon effortlessly grabbed the shooting star arrow. Aura farming on both Wheeler’s and aurora’s face, stunned in disbelief.

’Boom!!!’

The familiar explosion occured, crushing the ground where the beast stood to some feets below. Sending pieces of derbies flying everwhere.

’Why do i feel like she’s trying to kill us both.’

Wheeler sarcastically rolled his eyes, destroying the few pieces of debris from his path.

’Is it dead?’ Aurora wondered, beads of sweat dripping down her face.

Sure she was immune to damage from the flames she generated. But she wasn’t immune to the heat that came along.

Glancing at the dargon’s location, she couldn’t clearly see it’s aura, with the potrusion of the black smoke. Making her wonder if her attack had killed it?

"This just keeps getting better and better." A sly grin formed to Wheeler’s face, with the emergence of the beast.

Half of it’s body was in critical shape, specifically the left part it’d caught the arrow.

Peeling off a large amount of it’s skin, revealing it’s structured outline with bones. Along with it’s internal organs still intact?

Though it’s body was like an undead beast, the smug smirk plastered to it’s face never left.

’You’ve got to be kidding me~’

Before her, through the generated colour visuals. She watched as traces of small green colurs, replaced the dark on the dargon’s body.

Indicating it had not only survived one of her lethal skills. But was also regenerating it’s lost flesh at a fast pace.

Tilting it’s head, it glanced at her. Locking eye contact dead on with her’s, like a depraved killer.

"Shit." Aurora cursed, suddenly feeling the air plummet behind her. Swiftly switching from a flame bow, to a flame shield. She twisted her body back, just in time to block an object.

’Bam!’

A fist from one of the 2 green skinned dargon’s, that’d underwent some time of enhancement located it’s mark. Sending her flying down from her position, the fire shield extinguising into particles of flames.

Gritting her teeth through the pain, she conjured a jetski of flames. Reducing her fall speed by some margin.

’Bam!’

Her body crashed to the ground, forming a small dent with spidercrack lines. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Causing her to cough up a mouthful of fresh blood, feeling some broken bones. As even both her hands were strangely numb, despite blocking the hit.

’I was luckily to detect them on time or i would’ve died for sure.’

She’d been too focused on the first dargon, helping Wheeler out. She’d momentarily forgotten about the remaining two. Which had almost caused her life

As there was no doubt about it. A sudden death sentence, if that blow were to have made direct contact with her.

"Guess it’s time to end you." With a light sigh, wheeler stomped his foot. Shooting forward like a speeding car, cutting through the air with amazing speed.

Just 3 meters from the dargon’s location, his hands transformed into the silver sickles he used earlier. Not thinking twice he slashed both his arms in an X strike. Digging his right leg into the ground, cutting his momentum.

To generate an even more explosive force.
