Triple X System-Chapter 216: Fleeing dargon
’They’re going at it.’
Glancing back to the fight, Troy stood with a firm stance. The dargon opposite, with a gapping hole in it’s gut. Along with blue blood, dripping down from the holes made by Troy’s air bullets.
’My mana is running low, I have to get out of here and retreat.’ Using it’s mouth, it brought it down fast to Troy’s head.
Aiming to chomp him out in one bite.
"I would advice you to stop trying and just give it up. Your efforts are pointless now." Punching upwards, the air drill formed in his left arm.
This time shorter about 2 meters, spinning with a more deadly intent.
"A diversion?" Troy frowned, seeing the dargon abruptly stop.
On instinct the king cancelled his attack, tilting his head to the right. Avoiding two lightning bolts, that were projected from the dargon’s body. Heading into the spiralling lightning air ball, which had now doubled in size.
’Why would it do that if it knew I was faster?’ Troy thought, knowing the dargon wouldn’t misfire it’s lightning. Without an alterior motive in play.
’Zap! Zap~’
The dargon’s aura suddenly spiked with the return of the blue lightning bolts. Crackling on the dargon’s body, getting stronger.
’It’s increasing the lightning voltage to solidify it’s blood cells. Which in turn hardenes it’s skin more, and reduces the chance of bleeding.’
Troy pictured, reading the dargon’s intention. "isn’t that suicide though?"
Not only was the dargon’s move risky, but plain suicide. Stopping it’s blood flow literally meant making it’s heart stop beating. Which in turn harden it’s blood cells, reducing the risk of dying from blood loss.
Hence reinforcing it’s already tough hide with more durability. But like always there was a limit to how long the creature could pull such stunt.
Until the individual dies of either blood clot, or the heavy strain out on the body.
"It looks like I’m not the only crazy one." He smiled, air spiralling like a ring. Coiling around the dargon’s left arm. Doing the same with the other arm, troy kept back a bit.
Redirecting the wild lightning bolts to the side, with his air control.
’The castle’s not going to hold off much longer.’ Kyle could feel it, from the constant rumbling.
Each time one of the duo delivered a powerful attack, which was almost everytime.
....
Meanwhile, Kyle couldn’t indulge in the main fight. Watching and supporting from the sidelines, picking up whatever he can. Dashing from spot, he ran up a half erected pillar. Pushing himself off, using the momentum to kick a big piece of derbie back. Following the movement, to do the same with the rest derbies.
That got too close with Lisa and the group company.
"Get off!" The beast yelled, blood spewing from it’s mouth and snout.
Twisting it’s body, it hastened the joint ring like air drill. Connecting it with troy, weakening the scales on it’s arm. Enabling the drill smoothly cuts through.
’It can control the scales strength.’ A light frown tug to Troy’s face.
The dargon’s arm laying on the floor, still connected to the chain drill. Raising it’s right leg, it stomped hard to the ground. A trail of blue lightning following in a straight line.
Parting the floor in two as it moved. Sidestepping, troy dodged the rather easy attack. Until realization suddenly dawned upon him.
"It’s trying to form a connection with the lightning in the air ball." Swiftly waving his hand, the large air ball moved in time. Before the lightning connected with it, instead continuing in it’s path.
Running along the door frame to the entrance of the castle. Going up the roof, inflicting more damage to the already cracked foundation.
’Creak~ Thud!’
’Rumble!!!’
The building shook with a loud rumble, the roof caving down on them.
"Not good~" Lifting both his hand, a whirlwind of great air materialized.
Sweeping lesser objects and even some heavy objects into it’s keep. Getting bigger by the second, holding the roof in place. Meanwhile, a flash of lightning blazed past him out the room. Heading to a certain destination.
’The teleportation bay.’ A thick vein bulged at Troy’s head, realizing the dargon’s true intention.
"There are two options. One, it plans to regroup and absorb the mana stones in the black crates." Troy muttered with a slight grunt, from the overwhelming pressure. Of literally holding the entire castle, with the large whirlwind of air he produced.
’With it’s lightning bolts, getting the crates open shouldn’t be a problem.’ He thought.
The black crates harbouring the various mana stones Lumia mined, were not ordinary in the slightest. Constructed from linder, and other key lesser metals.
Making it a strong and impenetrable foothold, to even some extent of high level damage attacks. Accessed by a set of codes, only known by him and reze.
"Judging from their quantity, and it’s fast regeneration pace. It shouldn’t be long till it fully regenerates." He sighed, already visualizing the destruction unfolding if such occured.
"The second was to flee in it’s huge spacecraft, and return prepared with a larger scale invasion."
Comparing the two theories, troy had a gut feeling the dargon leaned towards the second. Sure it could absorb the mana stones and heal, but that would be futile.
Considering he already mapped out the dargon’s ability and skills.
So the the second would be a definite and best choice for thee beast. Already familiar with the outlook of the kingdom.
’I must say, it’s logic reasoning is different from other beasts. Using the teleportation pad as a key focus to divert our attention from the invasion.’
Grunting, troy slightly shook his head. The weight of the building pressing down on him.
"Hey you! Peasant." He hurriedly called out to Kyle.
"As much as I hate to say this, you have to finish the beast off."
’Bastard~ Who the hell does he think he is ordering me around.’ A subtle frown formed to Kyle’s face.
Ignoring him, Kyle glanced back at his parents and falcon. The only individuals he’d gotten accustomed to. He knew Troy could keep up with the caving rooftop, but for how long?
He was strong, no doubt about it. But even he had his limit, and the number of people present were still unknown. And if by a miracle he did manage to hold out, Kyle didn’t trust the safety of his parents and falcon with troy one but.
"Seriously? After our little bonding moment, you still have trust issues!?" Troy muttered with a frown. Making Kyle’s eye twitch.
"If anything happens to them, I’ll-"
"Yeah yeah~ you’ll reap out my soul in the most gruesome way possible. I get that a lot, get in line." The king sarcastically spoke with a smile. Making Kyle’s blood boil more.
Running, Kyle chased after the fleeing beast. Ensuring the safety of his little pack to Lisa, planning on repaying a debt.
[You don’t really trust them, do you?] Snow softly asked. No need reading Kyle’s mind.
’Of course I don’t. They’re no different from the dargon, but I don’t have a choice. The stake of not only our lives but the few innocent people here are at stake.’ He replied.
"Could it’s head be weak enough to finish it off with one strike?" He thought, having faith in dark flames effect. But still couldn’t rely on that fact alone.
And the strange blue lightning, made it harder for him to get close. Also acquiring new information there were abilities which could hinder dark flames effect. He wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip by.
[You’re getting close to the beast.] Snow informed him, her tone laced with caution.
’Zap! Zap!’
Up ahead, he could see a trail of lightning moving fast in a straight line. Leaping from some buildings, to cover more distance rapidly.
"Where’s it heading?" Kyle frowned, running on his maximum speed. Still not matching the weakened beast.
From his perspective, he couldn’t decipher if the beast was headed to the teleportation bay. Or it’s idle spacecraft, hovering above some land just before the white building, shaped like an egg dome.
[It doesn’t appear to be headed in the path of the done, so I’m betting it’s planning on escaping.] Snow said, to which Kyle lightly nodded having the same thought.
’Sniw, can you determine the dargon is?’ The latter abruptly asked, in between pants.
[Unfortunately it’s genetic code is far too complicated, for me to decide. And it doesn’t seem to be emitting any hormones either.] She related back.
[Why do you ask?]
"Err~ it’s nothing. Just a thought." He awkwardly chuckled with a small silence, feeling snow’s imaginary peering eyes on him.
Refraining from picking the energy swords and beam blaster he passed by, he aimed for a specific weapon. Covering a long distance, without any mana properties. Still lethal to the dargon.
"That’s it!" Not looking long, several dark wooden spears sprouted from the ground. Lined up in a spacing of 4 meters apart.
