Triple X System-Chapter 217: Fleeing dargon (2)
The lined up spears trailing in a straight line, down to the teleportation bay.
’How did she know? Can she read my thoughts?’ It was no doubt, these wooden spears were a product of miss Lisa.
And it wasn’t a surprise, how she pulled such off from that distance. Watching her go against the dargon, but what baffled him was the timing and precision. The spears emerged, almost like planned work reading his mind.
[I couldn’t scan her earlier but I’m certain she’s a one ability user. Which is chlorokinesis and not telekinesis.] Snow said.
Picking up the first black spear, he tossed it at the beast still running.
"Missed." He frowned, seeing the attack missed the beast.
Not stopping, he tossed out more of the black spears. All missing the dargon, some going off trajectory. By the fierce wind from the rumbling in the sky, building momentum.
[Steady your breath and shoot. You got this!] With a slight nod, he picked up another spear. Not immediately tossing it out, but reducing his pace a bit.
Aiming the spear to the dargon’s head, preparing to leap of the building. Forcefully charging itself with lightning, to boost itself onto it’s spaceship not too far ahead.
"Die." Kyle calmly muttered beneath his breath, his right hand arched back.
While he slightly leaned his upper body back.
’Swoosh!’ Not hesitating, he threw the spear like a professional javelin champion. The black spear cutting through the air fast, shooting with deadly speed.
’Zap~ boom!’
At the same time, the dargon charged up with blue lightning leaped. Causing a small shockwave explosion, destroying a portion of the glass building.
"What the-" Feeling the air turn sharper, the beast instinctively raised it’s severed left hand. Barely in time to block the shooting black spear, which pierced it’s stubbed arm.
Shifting it off balance, missing it’s aligned path. Making the beast descend downwards, into the entrance of the loading bay.
"You-" The dargon growled in rage, seeing the attacker was none other than Kyle.
A nobody weakling, not able to fend for himself actually hurting it.
"Growl." The thought of this made the deep scowl on the dargon’s face deepen.
Controlling it’s anger, he tilted his head to the side. Avoiding another black spear, piercing into the walls of the egg dome building.
"I’ll deal with you later." The beast muttered, retreating into the loading dock.
"Get back here coward, I’m not done with you!" Kyle yelled, trailing after the dargon.
Equipping himself with more of the black spears. Arriving just in time, about 2 seconds after. He could see the beast heading for a black crate.
[Quick! Stop it before it reaches the mana crate and recharge.] Snow hurriedly yelled with a hint of urgency.
Tossing three spears up a bit, he slightly kept using his legs to furiously kick the end of the black spear. Propelling it faster than his swings.
"Argh! Why you little insect." The beast groaned, struck in the chest by two of the black spears.
The last missing it, sticking halfway into a black crate. Stopping, the dargon faced Kyle. Gritting his teeth together, watching the blue blood drip from his body.
"Now you’ve gotten my attention." Sparks of the blue lightning surged around it’s body.
Followed by the projection of smaller bolts, reaching about two meters.
’It’s reaching it’s limit.’ There was no doubt about it, the beast slowly but surely succumbing to the arms of fatigue.
’Zap!’
A blue lightning bolts landed his way, moving his legs he dodged the strike by shifting his body. The lightning bolt crashing into some metal desk behind, splitting them in two.
’They’re much easier to dodge now.’
Lightning focused on speed and destruction. Being one of the natural disaster’s ability, a pain to deal with. Dominating over several other abilities, because of it’s versatile edge.
Previously, he struggled to keep up with the bolts, but now they were much slower. Easing the workload on him.
[The plan is simple, don’t get hit by a lightning bolt. Yes, the beast is in it’s weakened state, the blue lightning effects are still fatal to you.] Snow softly spoke, her words sticking to his brain like glue.
Having survived this far was mostly thanks to her, and her expert guidance and tips. Making the challenging obstacles he’d faced less intimidating.
[Maintaining a safe distance apart, while slowly closing the gap to deliver last stand is the best approach.] She reminded him telepathically.
’I understand~ stall enough till it hopefully runs out of mana then strike.’ It was a solid plan, but actions spoke louder than words.
Maneuvering the bolts, he was Lazer focused. His eyes fixed on the beast before him. Though he was at an advantage, with the beast arm severed. Decreasing the lightning speed, using it’s mind to send the blue bolts out.
It didn’t really play out that way in real life. The dargon keeping up with his pace, holding him back with the lightning bolts.
’He’s not even trying to aim for the kill, but wait it out. Until I get exhausted and run out of juice.’
A subtle frown flashed across the dargon’s face, depicting Kyle’s motive.
’I can’t absorb the stones this way or I’ll loose concentration and surely die. But if I don’t, I’ll run out of energy at this rate and eventually due.’
The beast down deepened, either way looking bad for it. Controlling the lightning, it cut through an incoming black spear. Heading straight for Kyle, whom leaped from his spot. Evading the brutal hit.
The lightning bolt forming a small hole where it has struck. Using the momentum, Kyle fired off four consecutive black spears. From his limited number, greatly reducing it down to 3 remaining black spears.
’Zap! Zap! Zap’
The zapping of lightning could be heard clear as day. Utilizing the bolts speed, the dargon swiftly reacted. Using it’s mind to control them, colliding against the spears.
’It destroyed them?’ The dargon’s eye widened a bit, seeing it’s lightning bolts destroyed alongside the black spears.
But it wasn’t opportuned for long, challenged with the remaining two spears. Grunting, a bolt shot from it’s chest, destroying the spear before it reached his location.
"Mhm!" A sharp groan escaped the beast mouth, the last black spear piercing it’s right leg vertically.
The top going down it’s kneecap to the beast feet, planted into the ground.
[Just as I suspected, it takes up more concentration and mana to produce the lightning bolts with it’s mind.] Snow spoke, a bit excited her plan worked.
"It’s still not over." Kyle muttered, observing the beast strange movements.
’What’s it doing?’
The dargon’s head was lowered, in a strange manner. Causing a frown to form to Kyle’s face, wary of the beast. He could sense it’s mana was really low, but not completely finished.
’Swoosh!’ The dargon raised it’s head, with the emergence of several lightning bolts.
Skillfully shooting through the air, way faster than before.
’How did it get so fast?’
Kyle frowned, not being able to dodge. The blue lightning bolts too fast for him. Clenched a spear tightly, ge swung it like a baseball bat.
’Bang!’
The both attacks were destroyed, with a small force pushing Kyle back.
’Thanks to miss Lisa further strengthening the spears seconds ago, I would’ve been seriously hurt.’ He thought, noticing the wood getting harder in his grip.
[Move left!] Snow quickly yelled, to which Kyle obeyed.
The familiar blue lightning bolts striking the ground, where he once stood.
"Thanks~"
[It’s no problem, I’ll guide you against it’s attacks.]
Nodding, Kyle was on alert, his body tensed. Listening to his system aid, guiding him out of harm’s way against the dargon’s relentless attacks.
"You’re really putting in the effort just to kill me, which means you see me as a threat. I’m flattered." Kyle teased, running to the left side avoiding a blue bolt.
"Shut up!" The dargon fumed with rage, creating more of the blue lightning from it’s body.
Shooting them straight at Kyle who dodged, impacting the floor with a hole.
’At this rate there wouldn’t be much floor remaining.’ He predicted, the holes spreading across the ground.
[The reason it’s aggressive is probably due to it’s low mana. Which could run out any moment now. Believe it or not, the beast sees you as a wall.] Snow uttered, earning a light chuckle from him.
Not expecting to hear such words from her.
[Dodge right! Now duck, roll under~ no! Don’t get too close.]
Like a professional trainer, she navigated him through the challenging obstacles.
’Us it just me or did the speed increase.’ Leaping from spot, he loaded just 4 meters from the beast.
Noticing the increase in the bolts speed, blurring at undeniable high level speed. Beads of sweat dripped down his forehead, inching to close the gap between the beast.
But the latter wouldn’t let him, knowing the risk of those wooden spears.
"Shit." Kyle cursed, the blue lightning bolts just too fast for him.
Not responding in enough time to avoid one, resulting in using the black spear as a shield. The pressure sending him skidding back a bit.
"I only have one of these left." He panted, inhaling large amounts of air.
