Chapter 218: Lightning cage

The spear he’d struck the dargon to the knee was now destroyed, by the beast lightning. Crackling fiercely on it’s body, temporarily stopping the bleeding.

Doing something strange, the beast twisted it’s body. Shooting out bolts of lightning everywhere, causing Kyle to leap back a bit. Avoiding the strikes.

’Something’s not right with that attack just now.’ A confused expression bore in Kyle’s face, seeing the beast attacks completely missed him.

"Wait, why are these lightning bolts still here?" He questioned, panicking a bit.

The rest lightning bolts which hit other places caused damage, disappearing on sight. After fulfilling their purpose. But encircling him, were about 4 of the blue lightning bolts hovering in the air.

Attempting to move he stopped, the lightning bolts bonding together. Forming a rectangular blue lightning cage, similar to Lisa’s picot cage.

"I must say, you’re not the weakling I had portrayed." The beast lightly chuckled, flashing it’s sharp set of teeth.

"You caused a lot of trouble for me, why! Almost giving me a run for my money, even stopping me from escaping. Why?"

"Isn’t it simple? You’re a monster who derives pleasure from bloodshed and killing the weak. Yet you run at the match of someone opposing you? Tsk! Dying would be an easy way out for you." Kyle scifed with disdain written over his face.

"So that’s how you feel, I see~" Slowly shaking it’s head, the smile on the dargon’s face faded.

Replaced with a complacent frown. One born of anger and resent, laced with killer’s instinct.

"I was starting to consider keeping you as my pet lab rat. Human physiology has always intrigued me to test limits and break boundaries. But it seems your journey ends here." The beast spoke in a coarse voice.

The lightning on the cage intensifying. Rapidly shrinking in size, closing in on kyle.

[Damnit! How could’ve been so careless not to have predicted this.] Snow cursed her recklessness, which had gotten them both in trouble.

’Don’t you dare feel guilty. If anyone should blame themself, it’s me. If I wasn’t so weak, then we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place.’

Searching, there wasn’t an opening or small gap to slip through. The lightning completely encasing the little space that remained.

’It looks like even her ability is limited to some extent.’ He thought, not receiving anymore help from Lisa since he entered the building.

Which was either due to her connection with the earth, not spreading this far out. While the other was probably from a mana outage, which he guessed wasn’t the case.

[Demon energy: 22/50]

Thinking fast, his mind raced on possible options. Just moments before his life would be ended.

"No, no~" Skimming through his skills tab, there were two choices to decide on.

’Demonic transformation hardenes my skin and doubles my stats, but it doesn’t make me impenetrable.’

Even in his true demon form, he was still weak to stronger attacks. Which would be pointless against the dargon’s lightning ability. Making him a big walking target, to the beast fast lightning bolts.

’Shadow walk would be the best option, but can it withstand the lightning ability?’ Ge thought weighing his options.

As a stealth skill, shadow walk enabled him to go through some attacks unharmed. So it was a better bet than transformation.

"It’s the only way." Gritting his teeth, he had no other option.

About activating shadow walk, the lightning cage suddenly stopped shrinking.

’What’s going on, did the dargon run out of mana?’ Kyle thought, not certain.

[No. Can’t you feel it? The air has gotten stronger, holding up the cage.] Snow debunked his suspicion.

"It seems the party has started without me. I’m hurt." A familiar voice spoke.

With the emergence of a certain figure, calmly making his way into the building with an unwavering smile. Dressed in elegant black and gold clothing.

Strands of his shirt dark hair, cascading down his forehead.

"Y—you~ how did you get here so fast!? Even with your talent, you shouldn’t have evacuated them all this fast." The beast stuttered, taking a step back.

With a light chuckle; "Evacuate? Now who said anything about an evacuation."

Troy grinned, making the dargon’s eye widen.

’He’s bluffing, right?’ Kyle asked, not being able to make out troy with the poker face.

His words sounded like a bluff on one hand, while he looked dead serious. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

[I’m not sure, there’s no fluctuation in his aura.] Snow replied.

Not responding, Kyle’s eye twitched with anger. Fist clenched, nails digging deep into his palm drawing fresh blood.

’Stupid! I can’t believe I actually listened.’

[Killing intent: 110]

His eyes glowed a bright red, rage burning within them.

"Yes that’s it, let it all out." Troy snickered, making Kyle’s blood boil more.

’Enoygh of this, I have to get out of here.’

An alarm warning sound went offf in the dargon’s head. The urge to flee away from Troy, greater than it’s taste for bloodlust.

"Oh no you don’t~"

Fhve air bullets quickly formed in Troy’s front, hitting the dargon’s back. Which tried to make a run for it.

’Bang! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!’

Five gunshot sounds went off, as the air bullets barraged the beast. Exploding with an even greater power, once in contact with the beast skin. Ignoring a fuming Kyle, troy steadily made his way to the dargon.

"You don’t look so good. Do you need a time out?" Troy innocently asked, with a straight face. Though one could sense the mockery, laced behind his words.

"G—go.." The dargon stuttered, in a barely audible voice.

It’s body in bad condition with several holes, severed arms, and a huge gapping hole made to it’s gut. Courtesy of the ruthless king.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t get that. You have a little, something in your mouth." Troy gestured, earning a sky chuckle from the beast.

Coughing up a mouthful of blue blood

"Go to hell." The dargon snarled with a wide grin.

Sighing, Troy stood up. A complacent smile forming to his face. "You first."

An air drill, reaching about 4 meters formed to his right hand. Rolling with immense power, cutting through the air from the generatd force.

Not thinking twice, Troy shoved the air drill down to the dargon’s skull. Just as it seemed everything was over, the skies which were now dark. Frequently emitting flashes of blue lightning, roared with a loud rumbling.

’Zap!’

A single blue lightning bolt striking the beast, generating a small explosion. Smaller zaps from the lightning bolt flying everywhere, causing troy to block with his air drill crossed to the chest.

The bolt latching onto the air drill, electrifying it and exploding on spot. Sending Troy skidding back, suffering some burns to his arms and chest. By the blue lightning.

"The dargon is feeding from the sky lightning." Kyle’s eye widened a bit, watching the beast aura spike.

Along with the generation of new arms onto it’s body, healing itself quickly. Some of the blue lightning cutting through several black crates, draining the energy from the countless mana stones present.

Further adding to the dargon’s increased power. Chuckling, the beast got up to it’s feet.

"I must thank you for your earlier actions or I wouldn’t be alive." The dargon spoke with an intimidating tone.

’The lightnings are preventing me from moving.’ Troy frowned.

He couldn’t feel the connection with not only his legs, but his entire body. Crackles of lightning keeping him stunned in place.

"Don’t bother trying to move, what you’re experiencing is the full force of my lightning ability. 10× stronger than the previous insignificant bolts." The smile on the beast lips broadened, watching Troy slightly twitching in pain.

’He was directly in contact with sky lightning but how isn’t he dead? Is he even human?’ The dargon inwardly questioned, still shocked seeing Troy not dead.

Standing in his feet, like he hadn’t been struck by natural lightning. Green veins bulging on his forehead, making him grunt in pain.

’Did the it just say full power.’ The beast words replaying in Kyle’s head.

He’d concluded the dargon was operating on maximum power earlier. But apparently, that wasn’t the case.

[How can a beast be this strong, it doesn’t make an sense.] Snow yelled, with a perplexed tone.

Unable to decipher this dargon, not finding any record of information on it in her database.

"I must commend you on surviving this long. But it ends now." Slightly shaking it’s head, the beast stretched both it’s fully regenerates hands at troy.

Sparks of lightning materialized, forming a small blue ball. Growing larger by the second, reaching the dargon’s size in a minute.

’Not good~’ Kyle inwardly thought, having a vivid image of danger that attack contained.

Capable of wiping out the entire kingdom in minutes. Once fully charged, the huge ball about the size of a trailer shot forward at the king pinned in place. By the static lightning coursing throughout his nerves.

’Rumble!’

The earth shook in reaction to the outrageous attack. Parting the ground into two, leaving behind a big gap spreading downward. Destroying everything and everyone it came in contact with.
