Chapter 232: Blood and War

"Mana rain?" Kyle asked having a brief idea of what she meant.

[Exactly. It’s just like typical build up of acquired water particles in the sky. Forming clouds of evaporated accumulated H2O, being released back down by gravity and other complex natural process.] She explained, causing Kyle to massage his head for the lecture of his lifetime.

’I can’t believe it’s been weeks since I last attended classes.’

As a highschool teenager, he didn’t really fancy the idea of attending classes that much. Only doing it to cover the payments made by his parents and secure a better future.

His IQ was somewhat on the typical average human level. So he was knowledgeable to make decisions and solve some questions with his mind. But none of that mattered now as a demon.

[I would disagree with you there young student. From the moment you transformed to a demon, right to this very moment has been a learning process. Constantly faced with nerve-wracking challenges and life-threatening situations. Requiring just more than logical thinking but instant decision making.] Snow said, making the corner of his lip curve upwards a bit.

[Which has led to your defining growth and gathered experience. Not only adding to your knowledge on demons and the mythical world but a vast variety of essential information. Which I doubt any human or particular race has achieved.] She finished strong and confident, aiming to boost Kyle’s ego.

"Careful with your flattery or I might just make you my wife, and do some hard exercises with you." He joked, earning some light curses and pouting from snow.

[Anyways, like I said. Mana rain is typically similar to normal rainfall. Except with the addition of mana to the water, and in this case a small fraction of the beast lightning ability. Which was caused by the excess outburst of mana from the blast, changing and surging the atmospheric level.] She slowly explained, so he could grasp.

"I’m guessing just like rain there’s some effects surrounding the descent of this mana rain." He asked to which snow affirmed.

Stating the mana rain was a once in a lifetime occurrence, from the excessive accumulation of mana during a planet evolution. Which usually brought about the solidification of the planet base core, along with the addition on some cases, of granting abilities.

"I see, you’re saying there’s a one in a million chances this mana rain will dish out abilities?" Thinking about it, it was a great opportunity for non ability individuals and also ability users.

As per snow’s statement; ’The mana rain grants both non ability individuals and ability users.’

Meaning there was a slim possibility he could obtain a second ability right here. And if lady luck smiled on him and played her cards right, he might just obtain the dargon’s lightning ability.

[I highly doubt that, since the lightning ability is overwhelmed by the abundant mana.] She burst his bubble, making him clench his teeth.

"You really do take pleasure in giving someone hope then shredding their spark. Don’t you." Kyle gritted his teeth, seething in rage.

[Probably a lot, but I’m just stating the plain facts.] Snow retorded with a light giggle.

Walking up towards the little steps present, leading to the entrance of the castle. He leaped a bit, landing on a solid concrete foundation. Taking two more steps, leaping again.

Repeating this same process a couple of times, arriving at the entrance into the castle.

"Weird, it’s like my blood is on fire." He softly inhaled, staring at the little hairs on his arms stand at at attention.

Responding to a static frequency, he concluded was generated from the lightning in the air.

[Your body is reacting to direct contact with the mana rain. Which is a good sign you’re possibly in cue for a hidden surprise.] She giggled mischievously, to which Kyle slightly shook his head.

Already attuned with his system two face, dubious and caring personality.

"Please be the lightning ability." Kyle silently prayed, crossing his fingers.

[Again, freaky!] Snow blurted out in a dejected tone.

Entering through the destroyed walls of the castle, he made his way indoors. The floor were littered with deep crack marks and charred black in some spots. From the draining and tough witted battle that’d occured here.

"This place is a mess." He muttered, stepping his foot across the ground. Moving towards a particular location, sensing high signs of aura’s. Specifically human aura’s present there.

Which could only mean one thing. "It seems like there indulged in some sort of meeting."

It was no doubt the humans present there were surviving citizens from the dargon’s attack.

Along with the space guards and other higher level vivid aura’s. He guessed were belonging to Lisa, ona the space commander and probably Wheeler.

"I can’t sense him anywhere here." Kyle frowned, not detecting any traces of troy’s aura nearby. Which was weird, not in his nature to disappear right after an invasion.

[He’s probably been taken to some undetectable secret medical center below ground for treatment.]

’I guess so~’

Walking, he could see some parts of the walls filled with a giant like human fist punch. Which he guessed was due to the fight between ona and Wheeler.

"Speaking of ona, I wonder how she’s doing now?" Though snow assured him the possession was disrupted with troy’s dispel skill.

It didn’t change his hatred against vampires, and their manipulative personality. Focusing most of their attacks on charms and mind control, adding to their problematic blood related abilities.

"Speaking of abilities, the system never made mention of mine." It hadn’t come to his notice before, but now that he thought about it he didn’t come across any record of his ability stated or mentioned once, during his level ups.

Pulling his profile, he cross checked his status if he’d missed it. But there was none, no ability slot, with an ability mentioned.

[I wouldn’t worry about that if I were you.] Snow butted in, urging him to look forward.

Tilting his head up a bit, he could see another door made of a deeper shade of brown wood. Reaching about seven feat high, surrounded by same wooden material.

Slightly smaller in size than the door, aligned in rows bonded together by a super adhesive. Forming what looked like a sturdy wooden wall, of magnificent texture. That looked to have been carved out, and shaped by the finest wood sculptures.

"Amazing~" Kyle complimented under his breath, at this incredible sight.

Placing his hand to the door, he pressed firmly. Concluding the door to be heavy and tough to open, which was terribly wrong.

’Bam!’

The wooden door forcefully opened with a loud thud, alerting the attention of everyone in the room.

"Great." Kyle mumbled, cursing his luck.

He planned to be as stealthy as possible, infiltrating the room undetected. But unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side just yet.

Standing still the atmosphere was tense to say the least upon Kyle’s intrusion. The stares of the crowd plaguing him like scarecrows which was ineffective against his willed resolve.

"Who the hell is that!?" A male noble wearing purple attire blurted out.

"Possible a commoner that got separated from the group?" A female added, her eyes scanning Kyle like an analyst.

"Nah~ he looks to poor and wretched to be a commoner. He’s definitely a stinking peasant." Another cocky male noble with short black hair grinned.

Earning a wicked smile from Kyle that screamed danger, causing his grin to fade.

"No~" Melo uttered in a low tone. His face becoming a little pale, staring at Kyle.

"What is it? Do you recognize that man?" Brazen asked, amazed by how the emersion of one individual sides from the king could change the perceptive melo’s expression.

Taking a deep breath, the latter tried to calm his breath which has slightly gotten rough. "I’m afraid that isn’t any peasant but the winner of the annual hunger games tournament and the challenger that went to to toe with the king himself."

He calmly spoke, but brazen could detect the mix of fright and enthusiasm in his character.

"I see~" The bulky man muttered under his breath, gulping in saliva.

"H—he’s the winner of the 54th annual hunger games!?" Lyra stuttered in disbelief. Her face turning bright red the next second, beads of sweat rolling down her head.

’Just how shameless is this woman.’ Blina the petite ace model frowned. Amazed yet repulsed by Lyra’s wild and unhinged personality.

"If he’s the peasant that won, then does that mean we’re screwed?" Fiona questioned with astonished eyes.

"What are you talking about?" Brazen asked, with confused eyes.

"If that’s really the peasant that won the tournament and fought with the king and survived. Doesn’t that technically make a monster on the same part with the king, and wouldn’t it be payback to take revenge now with the situation and absence of the king."

Fiona said, with a trembling tone. Her entire body shaking in discomfort and fear staring at Kyle.

It was like she was looking at death itself, a prodigy of the ruthless king reborn.

"You’re right." Melo asserted, maintaining his casual indifferent expression.

"What the hell melo, are you some sort of doomsday messenger!? Cause it’s not helping!" Brazen retorded with a frown.

"I’m just stating certitude. It’s not wrong to assume he wants revenge after all he was put through. And this would be the best place and time to strike." Melo concluded, adjusting his glasses.

Adding more to the growing tension spreading in the hall of the castle. Inching fear deeper into their hearts, at the sight of a monster born from blood and war.
