Triple X System-Chapter 238: Awakening Process
Inside the castle, the atmosphere was beyond tense, it was suffocating! The occasional flashing of blue lightning, lit the thick dark clouds for about 5 seconds. Going dark once more, with atime interval of 2 seconds.
Became more frequent, the loud thudding of rain echoed through the castle roof. Some droplets of blue rain, making it’s way in from the little cracks present. Dropping on the individuals present in the room, in the faintest of manners.
The huge tree stretching outwards shimmered with a green ethereal glow. Reacting to the blue mana rain it came in contact with.
’Crack! Boom!’
A thick blue lightning bolt struck, associated with a loud boom sound. Rumbling the castle floor, further instigating fear in the crowds eyes.
"Was the killing necessary?" Kyle frowned.
Clenching his fist, his nails digging into his palm.
He had no intention of killing Xeblo and the others. Could they be guilty of possession of illegal firearm and other charges? Probably, but that didn’t require the brutal murder of the individuals under your care.
Especially after a fatal invasion, leaving the kingdom in a shaken state.
"Really? And who are you to question my law? The king?" Troy replied in a cool tone, his aura steady. Yet one could sense the malice surrounding his tone as he spoke.

"Having internal conflicts now would only result to more damage. Save it for later." Reze stepped in before things got way out of hand, than they already were.
"The people that were with me, where are they?" Kyle asked, referring to his parents and falcon.
Adjusting her glasses, she pressed a button on her sleek black watch. Projecting a hologram, typing some words the feed changed.
"They’re currently being treated in our best hidden medical facility, along with the red haired woman. You can see for yourself if you want." Regarding the scene, he could infact see his parents and falcon layed on a hospital bed.
Prick needles connected to IV fluids inserted into their arm, along with an oxygen mask. Zooming out the screen, he also caught glimpse of Aurora, wheeler and even the elf princess. All attending treatment, their steady vital on display.
’She did keep true to her words.’ Relaxation washed over Kyle’s troubled heart, glad his little pack were still alive.
[It could be forged.] Snow blurted out.
’Are you implying this is a decoy?’ Kyle inwardly frowned.
[Not implying, just stating the facts you don’t believe everything you’re shown, except through direct visual sight.]
Listening to his interactive guide, Kyle couldn’t deny she was right. This was the prodigy genius scientist this kingdom had to offer, so faking a screen of his parents was a piece of cake.
"I want to see them." He demanded, causing Reze to purse her lips with a slight frown.
"You can’t, it’s forbidden for nobles not to mention a peasant outsider." Troy was the one to reply, pushing on Kyle’s button.
"Keep pushing and you’ll get what you deserve." Kyle shot back, releasing his aura. With Troy following suit, the two dominant forces in the room aura’s clashing for in a battle of power. Making it very hard to breathe properly, coughing from the suffocating essence.
"C-can you two abstain from civil war for just some days." Reze coughed, choking on her saliva also affected by the aura clash.
"You both a-are literally in no condition to fight! The state of your bodies require urgent medical attention, your highness." Reze added, but her words fell on deaf ears.
’Damnit! Why does he have to be this stubborn.’ She gritted her teeth, thinking of a plan fast before they were asphyxiated to death.
"Princess Lumia needs her father!" Reze chipped in, and that seemed to have done the trick.
"You’re right." Troy dispelled his aura, snapping his finger an air bullet impacted Kyle’s right chest. Forcefully cancelling the activation of his aura.
"W-was that necessary? Your highness~" Reze awkwardly chuckled, crossing her fingers for the best.
"Rise." Troy commanded watching the crowds still on their knees. Their heads bowed in dread.
Not disobeying, the crowd rose to their feet. Heads lowered, averting eye contact with the ruthless king. Not hesitating to kill without mercy, Xeblo a perfect example.
"As you’re all aware, we were invaded by cunning beasts with a humanoid physique." Troy started out in a calm tone, the previous trace of malice vanished.
"The lives slaughtered were irreplaceable, same going for the infrastructures damaged. But not all hope is lost, because your lives are intact. Which I command your patience and the space guards fufilled duty in ensuring your safety." A light smile formed on troy’s lip, causing Kyle to frown.
"Bastard~" He cursed beneath his breath, reading troy’s true motivational speech.
It was all an act to buy their trust back in him, after the Grand entrance he made. And, this wasn’t the first time the impenetrable Lumia kingdom was invaded.
Putting his authority over them in a bit of a shuffle.
"Reze, what’s the update on the information from the extraction of the beast sample?" Troy asked, maintaining his fake smile.
"We’ve not uncovered much your highness, but it appears the beasts are a hybrid mix of two species." She replied, glancing through the information displayed on the holographic screen.
"I see." Troy nodded, with a weak sigh. "Though the invasion is over, the losses suffered were dire. Including one of our main architecture, the loading/teleportation bay." His tone was low, not from fear but silent rage recollecting the end credits of the fight.
’It’s been a while since I felt my life in danger.’ A crazed smile flashed to his face.
As much as he hated to admit it, he was being overpowered by the dargon with blue skin.
Not only did the beast possess the ability to talk and was incredibly formidable, in physical fitness and magical powers. But it’s super fast regeneration and leech like ability to absorb mana in seconds gave it the edge.
"D-did he just say the teleportation bay was destroyed?" Someone from the crowd muttered.
"Yes, but isn’t that our main source of transportation and income source?" A fat noble in silk attire bellowed.
"T-that isn’t the main problem~ What if we were to get attacked again by the beasts? Our defenses are destroyed and there’s no way to escape, we’re literally sitting ducks!" Another yelled in an increased tone.
"Please everyone.." Troy softly uttered, waving his hand. An air bullet materialized, shooting out with blinding speed hitting the last individual that’d spoke in the shoulder.
Pinning the panicking space guard to the wall behind.
"I require some solitude of silence." He commanded, the room befalling in silence. Only the rumbling of thunder from the rainfall could be heard.
[Seems like someone’s not having a grand day.] Snow uttered with a light giggle.
’Tsk! He deserves more than just a bad day.’ A light scoff escaped Kyle’s mouth, his arms crossed.
[I meant the crazy woman over there.] Snow replied, indicating her reference to Reze.
The brilliant scientist seemed to be undergoing a midlife crises, falling to her knees. Her face slightly pale of colour, mumbling some inaudible words while rocking herself like a cradle.
"The beasts target are still unclear, but one thing is for sure. Retaliation is imminent." Troy vowed with a dark tone, sending chills down everyone’s spine.

"But, that’ll be a pending discussion until we uncover the beast roots. Until then, I’m officially declaring the abandonment of the kingdom." Troy declared with an unwavering voice.
"D-did he just mention abandoning the kingdom?" Brazen stuttered with wide eyes.
"I-it appears he just did." Melo uttered shocked, not believing his ears.
The great king of Lumia kingdom, a cold ruthless and prideful killing machine was actually considering running away?
"Seems like he’s finally snapped." Kyle smiled, enjoying the conflicted scene.
Raising his hands once more, the murmurs circulating the entire room came to a brief halt.
"Do not get my words mixed up. I have no intention of abandoning our fortress, I simply issued a temporary relocation of the citizens to the palace." The king debunked their suspicions.
[Ohh~ Hehe.. Smooth move, as expected of the dubious king.] Snow commented, causing Kyle to raise a brow.
’What’s smooth? He’s literally prying on their deterred emotions to his advantage.’
[Not exactly. Sure this is all a political act to retain dominance, which I’m impressed he resorted to. Rather than brute violence, but it’s also the best way forward to ensure the detection of a possible threat which may arise.] Snow explained, with an example of the condensed population in one environment.
Specifically the huge castle, almost half of the kingdom. Guaranteeing the safety and monitoring of everyone present.
"Ahh!" A sharp scream pulled everyone’s attention to Reze, now squirming in pain on the floor.
’Geez~ Get over it woman.’ Kyle rolled his eyes at the cocky scientist dramatic act.
[It’s not an act, the effects of the mana rain are beginning to kick in. Which means, the peak of the energy is upon us.] Snow stated with awe and anticipation.
And Kyle could feel it. The air had become very dense making it difficult to breath, a warm blue glow seeping from the tree that’d now turned blue. Pulsing with otherworldly energy filled in it’s core, below it’s root.
’Does this mean she’s awakening a potential ability?’
[Yes and no. Though the chances of awakening an ability during a mana rain is high, there’s also the consideration of not. Which is usually fatal, and results to death.] Snow replied, leaving Kyle stunned in place.
