Chapter 239: Awakening Process (2)

’Great, and you just felt the urgency to bring this up now.’ He clicked his tongue at his system dispassionate nature.

He hadn’t considered the mana rain came with cons, but now he knew he was wrong.

"Her mana pool is fluctuating, could this be a cause of this blue rain?" Troy wondered, feeling the spike and decrease in Reze mana pool.

Even the environment was now gloomier than before, with the change of events. Thick green veins bulged on Reze neck, legs and arms. Typically the visible parts of her body, refashioning slowly into blue.

’Are there specific times one undergoes changes under the effects of the mana rain? Or it happens unanimously?’ Kyle inquired, judging it was only Reze under the ramifications of the mana rain.

But he didn’t need an answer, as one of xeblo’s lackies screamed. Falling to the ground with a heavy thud, groaning in raw pain.

Unlike Reze, his transformation appeared to occur way faster. The green veins swelling around his neck like a balloon. Turning bright blue in milliseconds, emitting a faint blue light.

[He’s going to die.] Snow commented, reading the well-being of the man.

[His body failed to adapt to the surge of excess mana from the rain. Leading to the disruption in balance of his fragmented core, causing an internal damage of his organs.] She stated, labeling the individual as a goner.

"Ha! Ha-ha~" The burly man abruptly began chuckling hysterically. Digging his nails into his neck, scratching the pulsing glowing veins.

Inflated like an overiped fruit, about to explode. Creating deep lines on his neck, bringing forth fresh blood.

Steadily making his way towards the man with a poker face, he crouched down to meet his eye contact. "I acknowledge your pain."

His tone was soft laced with understanding of the man’s excruciating plight.

Marginally tilting his head to the side, a sick smile lingered on the man’s face. "Long live the king!"

He yelled, placing his head to troy’s outstretched hand. A surge of air formed at his palm, condensing into a small shard. Piercing the man’s skull, immediately ending his life.

Rising to his feet, Troy turned facing towards the crowd. "As you’ve all witnessed, it’s presumably safe to say that was an accelerated evolution from the abundant mana filling the air."

"Tsk! Smooth way to sweetened dying~" Kyle clicked his tongue, loud enough to reach the ruthless king ears.

"Y-your majesty, are you perhaps stating this is the legendary world tears, recorded in the ancient scrolls." Lucias stuttered, earning a light nod from Troy.

"I’m afraid it is, this blue rain is the awakening of a new dawn." Troy declared with a bright smirk, extending his hand to catch some rain drops. Which had now increased, being distributed by the multiple leaks in the ceiling.

’This is bad.’ A subtle frown crept to Layla’s face, attaining this news.

Just like her, all the space guards here, including the residents of Lumia kingdom were well aware of the terrifying world tears that discovered in a lost scroll.

’Are they referring to the mana rain as the world’s tears?’ Kyle questioned, watching their faces turn pale upon troy’s statement.

The tone he used was laced with a ting of worry, which intrigued him. Judging he’d never caught a sense of worry in the king’s expression. But this announcement had drastically changed the view of the whole crowd.

[Apparently yes.. The mana rain has been occuring throughout space, across different planets. Spreading doom and blessings varying from one planet to the other across centuries. Though my record analysis a pre saved record of the rain’s log, it’s still hard to pinpoint it’s pattern.]

’Pattern? You’re saying this mana rain has intelligence?’

[Not intelligence in the humane understanding but a sense of life. Remember I stated the mana rain only occured through the exponential accumulation of mana in a planet, and several various complex reasons?]

’Yes.’ Kyle replied snow, his eyes fixated on the crowd that were now befalling under the effects of the world tears. As stated by Troy.

[Well,I believe that information is outdated. During our transportation here, I acquired several information from the scan I ran at your first awakening. And for one, this planet has a better increase in mana energy than vaanderwood and several other early development planets. But it isn’t due for a mana rain occurrence till the next 30 years.] Snow stated to which Kyle listened, checking up on Reze.

She’d stopped squirming, now laying still on the ground unmoving. Her eyes had rolled back, turning white. But he could tell she wasn’t dead, listening to her heartbeat thumping faintly.

[Seems like you’re in luck master. One of the future members of your harem is the first to successfully survive the mana rain. And from the looks of things, she’s in the stage of awakening an ability.] Snow giggled with an ecstatic tone laced with joy and envy.

Shaking his head a bit, Kyle was glad to hear Reze has survived the world tears. He wasn’t accustomed to her, and he didn’t feel the need to. But, he could tell there was more to just the cocky, brilliant scientist personal she showed.

’You were saying?’ Kyle reminded his cheeky system, taking in slow deliberate pants.

[Oh! I almost forgot~ Like I said, the mana rain isn’t meant to occur for the next 30 years. But that’s the catch, the mana accumulated before the explosion of the teleportation bay was already corroded with a foreign energy.]

Crunching his brows a bit, Kyle was confused what she meant. ’Foreign energy? You mean like corrupting this planet core?’

[Exactly.. I wasn’t certain at first, but I detected signs of impurities in Orobos core.] Snow calmly uttered, making Kyle’s friwn deepen.

’If what you’re saying is true, then that means whoever is responsible plans to disrupt the planets core. Which would -’ He paused, a weak gasp escaping his mouth realizing snow’s warning.

[Just like you’ve guessed, they plan to destroy this planet. And from my readings, they’re halfway there. This planet, Orobos, it’s core is already disintegrating. Which means, it wouldn’t be long till the planet explodes like a blinding light, killing every living thing inhabiting it.]

Leaning on a piller, the background voices of the screams and groans from everybody in the room reached his ears. Excluding the king, doing something Kyle was interested in knowing.

The weight of snow’s words falling heavily on his like a truck. A planet core was it’s life force, just like humans. The death or destruction of it would be total annihilation, which would spell catastrophe for it’s inhabitants.

’But how were they able to reach it? Isn’t the planets core way deep underground, protected by layers of defensive mechanism to prevent intruders?’ Kyle questioned, flabbergasted how a group of individuals managed to inflict harm to an entire planet core.

[You’re correct. A planet core is located deep underground it’s surface, protected by a series of geo localized deathtraps. Making it difficult to breach for anyone stupid enough to venture on such suicide quest.] Snow confirmed his theory.

[But, according to my calculations. Ability users with the power of space and time could be able to defy the laws of nature.] She hinted, hoping Kyle would catch the bait.

’Ability users with power of space and time~’ He pondered, placing his hand to his chin. And it didn’t take 3 seconds to finally realize what snow meant.

’You’re referring to Lynn, right?’ He asked, to which snow confirmed.

[Exactly.. Not only is she a crazy princess with daddy issues, she’s the only one insane enough to fulfill such sadistic wish. All to get revenge on Troy and the kingdom.] Snow said with certainty.

Thinking about it, she was right. Lynn had a single ability with the power of 3 combined in one. Reverse as the name implied, had the ability to reverse, shape, and control the three laws of physics. Time, reality and even space, making her not only overpowered. But a walking death card of a liability.

[I suspect her earlier attack was linked with this motive, which led to lumia’s kidnapping. Even as powerful as she is with reverse, she’s still inexperienced, and lacks the resources to maintain her ability for long. Which required lumia’s healing ability to replenish her stamina and mana pool.] Snow stated to which Kyle nodded, a conflicted look fixated in his eyes.

"Do not be scared." Troy abruptly spoke, with a bold expression. "Though we find ourselves in the catastrophe that befell our ancestors 200 years ago, we will face it and overcome. I promise you." He vowed, regaining somewhat hope in the heart of the people present.

Looking at Reze, she was still writhing in pain. But not as severe like before, even the swollen green veins appeared to have lessened a bit.

’She’s adapting to it.’ A weak smile formed to troy’s lips, in admiration of Reze resilience.

He had a brief knowledge of the soul wrenching pain, she currently passed through. But none of it amount to the benefits attained, after the passing of the world’s tears.

Heading to lucias, he placed his hands to his forehead. Closing his eyes, he channeled his raw mana out his palm. Absorbed by the male space guard, exerting some little relief.
