Chapter 240: Motive

[Seems like someone’s having a change in attitude under the influence of the mana rain.] Snow remarked with a light chuckle, hinting at Troy.

He was occupied with whatever dubious activities indulged in, as Kyle had termed it.

According snow, what Troy was doing right now played a crucial role in the awakening process. By carefully injecting his mana into the paralyzed individuals, he’s able to control the mana fluctuation in their bodies.

Thereby redirecting a small amount of energy, gradually into their cores. Lowering much casualties and death rates.

By exposing himself and interfering with the natural effects of the rain. He raised his core being corroded, by the surplus of raw mana inhabiting the environment.

[I must say, that human is by far the most intriguing person you’ve ever come by. To channel your energy out in it’s raw form, required months. If not years of practice, not to mention your attuning process with your newly awakened energy. But he’s casually doing so with ease.]

"So? It’s not like he’s performing anything special. I’m was also able to channel both my energy out, in record time. Just few days after I was turned into a demon." Kyle scoffed, not finding troy’s work amusing in the slightest.

[Of course, you’re no doubt a hidden talent. But, you did have a cheat code which was the ageless vampire. Who’d lived for countless of centuries, possessing crucial knowledge. Including the system help.] Snow stated, making Kyle grumbled in dissatisfaction.

[Either way, what Troy is doing right now requires a solid core formation and connection. Along with a large mana pool to successfully achieve his desired task.]

’Tsk. He definitely has an ulterior motive.’ Kyle clicked his tongue, considering walking away to search for a hidden entrance or passage. Leading to where his parents and falcon, were currently receiving treatment.

He didn’t regard the people of Lumia kingdom as close, just because he helped out in the war against the dargon’s. The main reason he’d chosen to do so was because he decided to stay.

Get stronger and acquire as much information and tools he needed to evolve into something much terrifying. Far exceeding the rank of Troy, the cold king.

But with the invasion, the kingdom was threatened. Technically meaning his goal was also at risk, with the lives of his parents and falcon if the kingdom fell.

[Weird~ I didn’t think a demon of your calibre would still know what it means to be human.] Snow teased, running a broad scan throughout the castle. To ease Kyle’s search.

She didn’t condemn his logic, praising his growth into a more focused mindset. Sure there were good locals, but generally everyone here was rotten to the core.

So to him, this was just another stepping stone on his quest to power.

[My search came up empty. It seems they’re really strict in guarding this facility, considering the restriction of nobles. Indicating it’s advanced and really private medical attention, only permeated to the king.]

"I also guessed so." Kyle replied, taking a right turn down the corridor.

He was still on the ground floor, separated from the location Troy was. The reason he’d limited his search to mainly the ground floor was because, he had a gut feeling the medical facility was hidden somewhere here.

[You’re suspecting the cell you were held captive shares a link with the underground facility right?] Snow asked, reading his thoughts.

"You know, it’s not nice to pry on someone’s thoughts without their consent." He spoke in a spooked out tone.

[I-i’m so sorry master, please punish me. I’ll do anything. UWU~] Snow seductively whispered, imitating Lilith’s voice. Causing the unexpected rise of heat, in Kyle’s temperature.

’I’ll deal with you later.’ Kyle frowned deciding it best to ignore his mischivious system.

Walking down the end of the path he was aligned in, most of the does were locked. Restricted by a set of complex security, requiring a pass key and other several information.

"Where’s the vending machine." Kyle grumbled impatient, rubbing his face in a slow deliberate downward motion.

He was currently in search of the vending machine, located by the side of an inconspicuous wall. Harbourutge secluded entrance to the prison cell, he was held bondage.

But unluckily, faith has decided to be cruel to him as always. And snow couldn’t be of much help, with the vast mana brimming in the castle. Hindering her efficiency in pinpointing his parents aura.

"It has to be here." Crossing his fingers, he arrived at yet another turning to the right. Taking the silent path, it was a bit eerie and cold from the heavy dew from the mana rain.

"Y-you’ve got to be kidding me." Kyle stuttered in anger, arriving at the location he was first.

"Oh, I thought you’d run mad from the effects of the world’s tears. But it appears you’re fine." Troy flashed a sweet smile towards Kyle, causing his blood to boil more.

"Coming from a failed king with a kingdom on the verge of collapsing." Kyle retired with a sick smile.

[Freaky~] Snow commented with a light chuckle, enjoying Kyle and the ruthless king harsh verbal insults.

’Bang! Bang!’

Two air bullets materialized in thin air, swirling with great intensity. Cutting through the semi dense fog, heading straight for Kyle.

Grinning, the air bullet speed was easy to follow up with. To which Kyle dodged to the side completely unscathed.

’Not good.’ The atmosphere suddenly changed, not the work of the rain. But that of the emergence of a presence.

Crossing his arm to his chest, it was of no use. The attack changing route in fluidity, slamming into the side of his ribs instead.

’Crack!’

Some bones in his rib were immediately broken, the force chucking him slightly up. Fresh blood falling from his mouth to the floor.

"Never forget you place peasant. I could still kill you with my eyes closed." Troy answered with ascertaining dominance, signifying his unpredictable switch up in personalities.

Taking a step forward, air coated his legs. Propelling him fast towards the unconscious crowds.

"Damn you!" Gritting his teeth, Kyle attempted to retaliate.

Grunting through the bone wrecking pain filling his lungs, making it difficult to breathe properly.

[Don’t be stupid, you’ll be killed before you land a hit.] Snow discouraged him from attacking.

’Why does it feel like you’re siding with him.’ A scowl formed to Kyle’s face.

[I’m not siding with anyone. I’m just an interactive guide attached to the system to guide you. The facts are really slim of you winning against him in this current state. From my observation, what Troy did just moments ago was merging himself with the air.]

"Merging with the air? You mean that wasn’t his plain speed?" Kyle asked raising a brow.

...

Meanwhile, out in the vast expanse of space. A huge black spacecraft that was shaped like a large piece of land hovered in space.

There were no visible thrusters or designs highlighting a spacecraft. Only the similarity to a large barren land with black tendrils like veins. Running a long it’s hardened scaled exterior, pulsing with a red glow.

Making one mistake the craft, for a planet of floating island.

Inside the spaceship, the interior had a surprisingly modern design. With different allocated centers for varying purposes.

’Clang, clang!’

The heavy thuds of footsteps, resounded in a particular location of the spacecraft. An imposing figure, making his way through the dedicated pathway.

"Craktur meanfer." The humanoid beast spoke in a deep gruttal tone, into a universal speech translator by the side of the metal door.

[Access granted.] The monotone systematic voice responded, granting the beast command.

Followed by the door sliding to the right, with a soft hiss. Stepping through the door, it slammed shut. The vivid smell of blue fog, derived a machine stationed throughout the entire spaceship filled the beast nostrils.

Pumping a large amount of the energy, transformed into gas.

"Secklar duck imbrav." The dargon with a deeper shade of green inhaled, making it’s way down the bridge.

Walking about 5 meters, it took a right turn. Going on for a shorter length of 3 meters, turning left. Entering into a big tube like elevator, capable of fitting an elephant.

The low ding sound was heard, accompanied by the lift descent. Stopping at the ground floor, excluding some of the mana fog.

Making it’s way onto the elevated platform, the beast advanced towards a wide step reinforced with iron bars going down. Reaching the lower more spacious platform, stretching far and wide. Resembling the combination of various streets joined together.

"Nambur shaduk!" The dargon snorted, in a foreign language. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

"Nambur shaduk!" The countless dargon’s of a lighter and darker shade of green colour responded. Prompting beastial grunts and cheers.

"I see we’re all in a good mood today, that’s a good motive." A voice said, making the entire crowd of ferocious beasts go quiet.

The confident smirk and prideful hereditary beast ego diminished. Reduced to dread and horror, trembling at the at calm voice.

That contained a more humane tone, than that of a beast.
