Chapter 241: Missing Key

The readable feeble appearance on the dargon’s face, carried a timid glint. Slowly retracting back, from the elevated platform in front.

"Come on now, what’s with the long faces? It’s not like I asked you to stop." The feminine voice responded, her tone laced with a chilly edge.

Stepping out from the corner of the platform was a figure, hidden in darkness. The individual frame appeared much smaller, than the opposing beasts.

Emerging from the darkness into the light, the appearance of the figure that’d sent the entire fleet of savage beasts into panic was revealed.

It was a dargon nothing like the rest present here. Possessing a little humanoid frame, some few heights below the rest typical towering beasts. Steadily making it’s way towards the stand at the center of the podium.

Stopping, the beast had a demented smile plastered to it’s face. The blue hardened scales coating the skin like an armour. Pulsing with a strong blue glow, giving off a warning sign to those surrounding it.

Unlike the rest savage intensity in the eyes of the dargon. This one has a more serene look, brushing some strands of her blue wavy hair back.

"I see you’ve forgotten your place, let me remind you." She giggled, her aura bursting out like a bomb. Weighing heavily on the weaker beasts, forcefully pinning them to the ground.

Some pop sounds were heard, as the lesser beasts of lighter green colours head popped. Unable to withstand the imposing pressure bracing them.

"That’s enough Kayla!" Another voice yelled with the emergence of yet another dargon.

Unlike the first with a petite frame, this blue skinned dargon was slightly taller.

Having a more fitting athletic build, rather than a bulky frame. Perfectly matching it’s body ratio and hide density.

"Tsk~ I was just having some fun with my brothers and sisters, why do you have to be such a party pooper." Layla, the female dargon lazily replied with her creepy smile that looked more like a danger grin.

From how wide, rather than the usual crocodile length snout the dargon’s obtained.

"I would disagree fun means oppressing your fellow kind in playing your sick little games." The male dargon answered, surpassing her aura with a fraction of his released.

"Mhm-mm~ You win again this time big brother Murdock." Kayla raised her hands in defeat, succumbing to the unhinged difference in both their aura’s.

"Just don’t overwork yourself or I may have to step up to your role." She leaned to his side, seductively whispering those words. Her single blue tail brushing against his cheek as she walked past him, proceeding to sit on 10th of the 12th chairs present on the podium.

’She’s getting out of hand lately, I might have to instill some manners into her.’ A subtle frown formed to the imposing dargon’s profile. Warm blue blood trickling down the cut on his cheek, courtesy of the siren female beast.

"You may all rise now." He gestured, which the surviving beasts obeyed. Standing to their feet, heads still lowered in intimidation of the two opposing figures.

Slightly shaking his head, murdock returned back to the comfort of the second chair situated with ascending numbers. A bit away from the glistening kayla, perched comfortable on the number 10 seat.

Soon, more footsteps could be heard making their way into the room. Further building up tension in the atmosphere, naturally making it hard to breath for the weaker beasts.

"Second brother Murdock." A busty female dargon with similarities to Kayla greeted.

"Ninth sister phaser. It’s a pleasure to have you back." Murdock slightly nodded, acknowledging the savage beauty.

"The pleasure is all mine." She replied, making her way to her seat. Doing the same with Kayla.

Just like Murdock and the fierce cold petite beast, these dargon’s were all blue in colour. Procuring identity traces of aura’s, slightly differentiated by the difference in clarity.

All taking their seat on respective chairs, leaving only two unoccupied chairs remaining. Specifically the first and the twelve.

’Where are they?’ Murdock questioned with an impatient expression.

As the number two he obtained higher authority amongst the liberators 12, which was the term they went by. Giving by their creator and father figure.

So he was well aware with most certain information if their movement. And while he knew kratos, number 12 was assigned a mission directly from command of their father.

It has been a long while he’d been gone, reaching up to about 3 months in total voyaging space. And he still hasn’t returned absent from the urgent meeting, which was unlike the twelve beast.

"Is there any word from kratos?" Murdock asked, with hopes of a transmission or information on the beast whereabouts.

"Nothing. His comms has been silent since 2 months of his departure. I fear he’s not only failed father but chosen to flee and escape punishment." Gya, the fifth dargon with silver hair answered bearing an indifferent expression.

Clenching the edge of the armrest supporting his palm tightly, he crushed it. Despite it being made from portions of mana, and a black stone that appeared more ancient than it looked.

"Don’t be so certain about what you’re not certain about or it just might cost you." Murdock shot back with gritted teeth.

Tilting her head to his view, her lips curved upwards into a light smile. "Of course, second brother murdock."

Her hands gestured in a slow deliberate zipping motion.

"Where is he?" Murdock frowned, glancing at the empty chair besides his right.

"He’s probably away on an unknown planet having his own sense of fun." Number three responded with a light giggle.

She was a female dargon with long blonde hair, her skin a mix of blue and gold. Seated besides Murdock, the dargon with the most vivid clarity in aura colour.

"Laying waste and destruction to a planet without order from father isn’t fun. It’s treason and defiance of our existence to serve him." Murdock scrunched his thick blue brows, clearly not in support.

"Geez~ Don’t be so uptight second brother murdock, father did say we could do what we want if it felt right. And ridding off a bunch of thorns in our blooming garden seems pretty fine to me." The fourth male dargon replied with a sly chuckle.

"Hmm~" Not responding, Murdock remained silent.

"I heard you helped take down one of those celestial beings." Kayla enthusiastically spoke, the excitement sparkling in her eyes like stars.

"Yes." Phaser, the occupant of the ninth seat calmly replied. Causing the anticipation and glistening expression on Kayla’s face to brighten. Brimming in awe and deep astonishment towards Kayla.

"You have to tell me. How did you do it? Which weapon did you use? Was your ability required or brute strength!?" Kayla inquired with a barrage of questions, impatient to get a reply from the emotionless female monster girl.

"Kayla! You shouldn’t pester someone about their killing methods. That’s considered prying on information which isn’t fair." Thorak cautioned, scolding the inquisitive petite beast girl.

"Forgive me twelve brother, I just wanted to get some tips from big sister." She begged with puppy eyes, pouting her thin lips like an innocent child.

"It’s alright thorak, I enjoy our little brief talks from time to time." Stretching her miniature hands, that compared more to human than beast. Phaser gently patted the petite beast girl head, her hand slightly vibrating. Earning low purrs from Kayla.

"Tsk! Amateurs~" The eight female dargon with extra long arms and thin blue claws that resembled blades scoffed.

"You mentioned something?" Phaser tilted her head a bit to the side, causing slicer’s breath to cease.

"N-nothing, ninth sister." Slicer stuttered, quickly averting her gaze. Feeling the an otherworldly force clutching her shoulder.

’For a moment there why did it look like she really wanted to kill me.’ Slicer gulped, some beads of sweat rolling down her forehead.

She was superior in ranking to phaser, but the brief exchange they had just now made her question otherwise.

"Say, what do you think of the new gift I gave you Frieza?" Thorak, the 11th and second to the last dargon’s in order of descending sequence put forward.

Directed to the 7th dargon, that’d chosen to remain silent.

"Cold~" The blue dargon uttered, in a low tone. Some bit of frost excluding his mouth as his spoke, freezing the portion of air it encompassed.

"Creepy." Thorak shuddered, his features contorting a sly chuckle.

"It’s good to see everyone gathered here " A fresh voice spoke, in a distorted hoarse voice.

A hologram depicting the image of a masked figure, was broadcasted on hovering feeds across the entire room. The fleet of beasts crashing to their knees with heads bowed, including the 12 liberators.

"Rise to you feet my creations, for I bring good new." A light chuckled escaped from the voice tone.

"First things first, I would like to honouur on of my fallen sons kratos. Matryed in his recent mission." The voice relayed with a sombre tone, causing light murmurs in the crowds of savage beasts. Now composed like a set of relegated humans.

"Seems Gya was right~" Locks giggled, forcing Murdock’s brow to deepen. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"But do not be scared, because he’s sacrifice wasn’t in vein. At long last, we’ve finally found the missing key to our undying limitless evolution!" The voice declared, brightening the beasts expression.
