Unlimited estates for rural beauty-Chapter 569: Sudden Death (1)
The rest of the Hidden Guard, witnessing the Divine Doctor’s longsword instantly drawing several blossoms resembling white lotuses with each strike, were plunged into a state of intense shock. Every thrust stabbed into a comrade’s body, swiftly invading their senses with the heavy stench of blood. The sight of their comrades falling spurred them into a crazed frenzy as they desperately charged toward Dugu Chen.
Feng Xuxu watched as her husband disposed of several assailants with this single move, intending to retreat from danger. But unfortunately, two attackers rushed towards her. Sighing and shaking her head, she dodged and unfurled Changling from her sleeves. In her hands, Changling danced, its soft, lengthy form exhibiting flexibility in battle, hard as a staff or fluid like a whip. After toying with the two men for a while, she abruptly retracted Changling, leaped up, and scattered a flurry of leaves toward them.
The Hidden Guard mistook the leaves for hidden weapons and deftly dodged, but seeing they were just leaves, one of them scoffed, "Hmph, how utterly ridiculous, using leaves as hidden weapons—you’ve got to be kidding."
Seeing their arrogance, Feng Xuxu’s lips curled into a smile, her eyes narrowing. She spun her body mid-air, now showering the Hidden Guard with both flower petals and leaves. The guards, underestimating her once more and carelessly dodging, didn’t notice a petal slice through their garments and skin. The petal nicked one’s abdomen, leaving a small but significant cut. He touched his stomach in disbelief, his hands coming away covered in fresh red blood, then glared furiously and charged forward.
The guard beside him was more cautious and wary of Feng Xuxu, understanding that those seemingly innocuous petals could injure with considerable Inner Strength behind them.
Feng Xuxu glanced over and saw that her husband had nearly finished off the rest. No longer interested in playing with the opponent before her, she channeled her Spiritual Energy and executed Nine Heavens Flying Flowers. In an instant, myriad petals and leaves fluttered through the sky, encircling her in a spinning cocoon of flora. Within the flowery whirlwind, the lotus on Feng Xuxu’s forehead grew redder, and gradually, her body lifted from amongst the flowers.
The Hidden Guard battling Dugu Chen was distracted by the unusual spectacle and was mercilessly slain by Dugu Chen, who snorted, "My wife is not for your eyes."
The other Hidden Guard, seeing Dugu Chen’s blood-red eyes and feeling terror grip their hearts, knew death awaited them whether they returned to the Prince Residence or stayed. Clinging to a sliver of hope for survival, they still mustered their strength to assassinate him.
Dugu Chen showed no mercy and unleashed his deadliest moves. Afterimages flickered by, and soon the remaining five Hidden Guard stood motionless, longswords in hand, eyes wide open, yet they were merely erect corpses. Then, as a sound broke the silence, they crumpled to the ground, lifeless.
When Dugu Chen looked back, he saw petals form a rainbow arch, wrapping the Hidden Guard within myriad hues, protecting them from all sword strikes without leaving a single gap in the floral barrier. After circling the guards once, the petals fell to the ground.
Upon closer inspection, the two men trapped within were left with their garments hanging in tatters, their bodies covered in wounds oozing blood. From their backs protruded deep cuts, and if one looked closely, they’d see the ends of long leaves poking out—until the end, the guards lay with eyes wide open, a trace of panic within.
With the Hidden Guard dead, the butler knew he too was not long for this world. This thought circled endlessly in his mind as he gazed blankly at the couple approaching him, his demeanor no longer proud but defeated.
"Go back and tell Prince Fu that this debt is noted by the Divine Doctor," Dugu Chen said casually, waving a hand. The butler’s body collapsed limply to the ground, unconscious.
