You're Just My Ex-Husband,My Lord-Chapter 243- as a regular couple
He wasnโt a heartless robot. Every bit of her thoughtful care, he noticed and kept in his heart. ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฐ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ฒ๐ฅ.๐๐๐
Her love was so genuine and sincere. No matter how cold or hot his heart was, how could he not be moved by her?
When he reflected on his life now, Dave realized that he hadnโt been someone who understood love. He had to thank her for being by his side all these years, showing him through her actions what love truly was, and teaching him how to love someone.
Before meeting her, he didnโt understand love.
After meeting her, his eyes were only for her, and he would never fall in love with anyone else again.
Over the next few days, the two of them continued to enjoy their rare holiday at a leisurely pace. Whenever they felt like going out, they would drive to a new destination, and when they were tired, they would just relax in the room without going anywhere.
No work, no social obligations, no children, no endless little tasks, and no complicated social relationships. Everything was so simple.
Overall, it was a pleasant trip, nothing like what Vivian had hoped forโno big arguments or breakups, even though there were a few small quarrels, but they were all within the range of reason and acceptance. Spending every day together, who doesnโt argue sometimes?
After the incident when Dave refused to apply sunscreen and they had a little argument, there was another time when Laurent wore a pair of short denim shorts, and Dave didnโt want her to wear them, but Laurent insisted.
Before that, Laurent had been wearing long beach dresses, very tropical in style, showing only her shoulders and leaving the rest covered. So when she suddenly switched to wearing shorts, Dave couldnโt handle it. Her fair and slender legs were fully exposed, and it was no surprise that he was upset.
Laurent didnโt think much of it. There were many people outside wearing even shorter clothes than hers, so she didnโt understand why he was so upset.
That day, they had planned to visit a famous local night market, but before leaving, they had that little quarrel. Laurent insisted on wearing the shorts, and she thought Dave would give her the cold shoulder the whole time. However, once they left the house, he was no different, still kind and considerate toward her.
It wasnโt until later that night, when they were in bed, that he showed his true colors. He grabbed her waist and punished her with deep and intense actions, making Laurent protest brokenly, saying he only ever punished her in situations like this. He didnโt seem to care and kissed her, saying that if this was the only thing that could make her behave, everything else was fair game for her to argue about.
In truth, every time he "punished" her, it ended up turning into an experience that left both of them lost in desire, utterly joyous and passionate.
When you truly love someone, engaging in such acts with them becomes an ultimate pleasure and bliss.
They returned to Burg Eltz at night, without disturbing anyone, taking a taxi back from the airport.
Daveโs idea was that since both of them felt they were growing closer during this trip, once they returned, they should just move in together. It would be best if she moved back to the Villas.
The ideal scenario, in Daveโs mind, was for them to go to the marriage registry office first thing the next day to remarry. Of course, this "remarriage" was something he only said to himself. Heโd be happy enough if he could persuade her to move back in with him; remarriage could wait. He couldnโt rush her into it.
Laurent thought it over and refused his suggestion to live together. She looked at him awkwardly and said,
"Letโs just continue dating as a regular couple for now. As for living together, letโs hold off. I have to consider my dadโs feelings..."
Her father had never liked Dave, especially after their divorce, when his dislike for Dave reached its peak. Although recently, after Dave protected her and took a knife for her, her father had slightly softened toward him.
But changing her fatherโs long-standing negative opinion of Dave wasnโt something that could happen overnight. If she announced now that she was going to move back in with Dave, her father would definitely be furious and might even dislike Dave even more because of it.
Since she had already decided to get back together with Dave, Laurentโs task now was to help improve Daveโs image in front of her father.
Dave protecting her by taking that knife was proof that Dave loved her, but whether he could live well with her was what her father would focus on. It was often said that love was easy, but living together was hard, and thatโs exactly the situation here.
Moreover, in her fatherโs eyes, Dave had always been a man with strong male chauvinism and lacked tenderness. If her father didnโt see that Dave had changed, there was no way he would ever agree to her marrying him again.
So Laurent felt that it would be better to take things slowly between them.
Laurent mentioned Alex, and Dave fell silent, no longer insisting that she move back to the Villas.
Indeed, her reasoning made sense.
Her fatherโs presence was now the biggest obstacle for him. He had won back her heart, but if he still couldnโt earn her fatherโs approval, even if she were with him, she wouldnโt be truly happy.
Their previous five-year marriage had already caused her to be torn between him and her father, suffering in silence for so long. This time, he would never let her endure such pain and pressure again.
He would work hard to change her fatherโs view of him, and only when her father personally agreed to let her marry him again would he remarry her, ensuring she had the full support and blessings of her family before they tied the knot once more.
Although they had agreed to live separately for now, that night, Dave still accompanied Laurent back to her place. After the long flight, they didnโt do anything more, simply embracing each other and falling asleep like that, and that was enough.
